me thinks that is a good idea bout the club biscotte.
Shoppy - no dont see them for any of the holidays - it sucks - now do a bit occasionally of the summer holidays but its always a battle - but not much. Dad lives a very long way away in France (they are semi-retired with his new partner and new kids and her kids and occassionally my kids)
My kids fly far more than I do, makes me really sad, he'd rather see them with stamps on and posted i think. Wont be nice. Hard to be around other folks cos most I know have kids, which i find hard - but usually force myself. Prob go with OH to my surrogate mums in deepest darkest englandshire.
It sucks however we do it, am glad he lives along way away cos the pair of them are very demoralising for me - so luckily I don't get any of the weekend swapping etc - suits me better cos I go to bits everytime i see them (still) but I guess its not so fair on the kids. dunno, dont think anyone has the perfect arrangement reallly - sorry how glum I have just gotten xxTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hi all
Last year I had to treat alcohol like a very dangerous psychopath:
I avoided being in a room alone with it
Changed direction when out and about when I saw it coming towards me
Avoided places where I knew it would be
Never got close enough to it to smell it
Didn't invite it into my house and told others not to bring it in either
Maybe not so strict this year, but I do have a plan to keep me distracted over the holidays- I am going to do myself a timetable and make sure I am doing something positive like going for a walk or some exercise at key trigger times. I still don't feel I want alcohol in the house but if people come round with a bottle of wine I have brought some cute xmas bottle stoppers so when they go they can take any left over with them. I am still going to avoid boozy parties and offer to drive to any I can't avoid. Basically, I am trying to plan a full holiday so that there are no long periods of brooding- I am healthier this year than I have been for 20 yrs- can't wait to open presents at 6 in the morning without a hangover, not throw up on baileys or advocaat, not lie on the setee groaning all new yrs day- this could be my best christmas ever and I'm not going to let alcohol spoil a minute of it.
Best of luck everyone0 -
