Hi all- well done on last nights valiant efforts.

Fay- I used to buy those little bottles- 4 for a fiver in asda- but I always drank all four at once!!! No brakes see...........

I like the idea of 40 being the new 30- as I can't remember most of my thirties due to being sloshed I could just pretend I haven't had that decade and start afresh and live my '30's' properly this time. Its good to put a positive slant on this stuff- a bit like bankrupsy being the new black I suppose.

WB and Molly- thinking of you both today.

Good luck everyone-wagons overflowing at the moment, bis you still at the reins?
  • Hi again all, feel some strange need to keep posting ATM!

Wish I could buy those little bottles but seems like false economy

40 - new 30 - deffo! I feel like a teenager most of the time :rotfl: - when do we get to feel like 'grown-ups' do you think?

Just a thought for the day, what are everyones strategies for the Christmas period?, I am off for nearly two weeks and panicking about how I will do on the AF front - all that free time, Christmas booze.....
  • Hello i have been thinking and reading again and i think perhaps i am not so bad i am not sure what i said at the start now.but i did do a week with the tabs and no alcohol and felt fine ,then drinking crept back up but that was only over a few weeks. this week i had a mini bottle on sunday and nothing for two days no tabs at all since that first week.Thinking now i may just have a water infection and have had a bad cold the last two weeks.Going to Drs later different gp to check.

I know it seems like false economy - but if it limits you drinking - as you will drink everything that is there - then a wee bottle has less in it - then its a good mechanism - like bis said to me - that it was a false economy to my body to not dump the alcohol in the cupboard down the sink when I said it was such a waste of money - IMHO - if I am struggling and know a couple of glasses with dinner is all I want then I have when strong bought a wee bottle - be easier than dumping half a bottle down the sink before dinner to limit my intake!!

40 is new 12 I think - sitting in pigtails, flowery boots and stripey socks.

Xmas - dreading it to be honest - I might offer to drive alot - offer to do lots of things with other folks kids etc - once I have promised something I can't go back on it. Otherwise - um to be honest dreading it. No kids at home, no work - on holiday effectively in a period which is dark and yukky outside.

  • Alwaysrunning - well done on the 2 AFD's and good luck at the docs, just try to take one day at a time and remember, if you are having AFD's where you had none before it is an improvement, try not to beat yourself up if you fall off the wagon - you are only human ((hugs))

I only buy one, if I buy 4 I would drink 4 - no brakes either, so I need to chuck logs on the road infront of me! Afer one wee bottle can't drive and cant get any more - you see - oddly it kinda helps.

Yup thirties - seem to have gone by in a haze of depression and red wine.

  • we have a shop that opens late on the end of our row of terraces (6 doors away) far too much temptation!!!

Fay - where do your kids go for Christmas and who do you spend it with? do you see them at all over Christmas? My DD will be spending Christmas Eve with us then going to her Dad for Christmas Day and back with us Boxing day - she is like a yo-yo - feel bad about it really but what can you do?

So, if 50 is the new 40, then we can have a MSE AF wannabee (new)40 club and then everyone can join - just delete the brackets if necessary!

Don't want anyone to think we are ageist here.
