    Hi everyone

You all seem to be doing well, I know how hard it is to stop drinking once you've started.

I am doing well, now over a month since any booze or fags have passed my lips, and it seems like I have got out of the habit of drinking and it doesn't seem as important as it used to be. However, I did think that the weight would drop off me when I stopped and it hasn't in fact its gone up, but I think I have traded one addiction for another so now I am addicted to chocolate, something I never really bothered with before, think it might be something to do with sugar.

    Any ideas

    Keep up the good work.

Evening all. Great to see so many people on here making positive steps. Managed to resist although a definate urge for a bottle of red after a particularly difficult day in work...got dandelion & burdock instead & had a nice bath to "wash away"the day when I got home...will be saving alot on wine by not drinking as much and am happy to feel in control of it! No YM havent been on the "other" thread!! Hanging head in shame but I will be back!!

  • oh dear, time for me to fess up - but I'm glad I'm not on my own!action-smiley-033.gif

Over the past six months I have developed a taste for white wine. My hubby and I never had the money to have booze in the house and we would only go out every now and then when it was pound a pint.

Since our circumstances changed it has become habit for me to drink every night at home, sometimes only half a bottle of wine - but mostly I will polish off a bottle (and maybe a couple of cans of beer).

I have experienced alcoholism within my family and I think I kid myself a bit that because I don't drink like they do/did then I'm not going down that road although I know in the back of my head that I am drinking far too much.

Reading these threads (and watching the tonight programme about mums drinking) has made me feel better as I am not alone - now all I have to do is cut down...........and possibly even stopspeechless-smiley-040.gif

    any help gratefully received!
