Hi wendy, I don't know if this has been suggested. If you have Tesco Vouchers you can get your RAC free. Save them up. I got mine for the sake of £15 of Clubcard vouchers. Saves a small fortune. Great idea thanks. Why didnt I think of that? Ive got loads already and am always saving/collecting more. Even got OH doing them. Did I say a few weeks ago I was so proud of him remembering to claim 500 when he helped his friend buy a TV. Daft or what?
PS he then got chased by the TV Licencing as they use the Tesco scheme to track the TVs. Strange or what.:j0 -
hi there
glad you all had a good hol!
just a couple of thoughts about your SOA.
re. RAC etc. i used to get mine through my clubcard vouchers. this year i have plumped for autoaid (there is an article on this on the main mse page) - lots recommend it. £37 covers at home/relay/recovery etc - i think there is a £65 at home limit. the reason it is so cheap is that you pay for the repairs and then they reimburse you. i have not had to use it yet this year.
re. SKY i have rung them to cancel a couple of times and they offer good deals. the first time i rang we were on the full package and i wanted to cancel movies and they offered a deal - but i just cancelled at the time. then i wanted to cancel the sky sports and they offered me it all for just £25! but i still cancelled. recently we had to order sky movies for a month or 2 to get the sky plus box for £49 plus free installation. went to cancel the other day and they offered me 6 mixes (we only have 4) plus sky sports for £25 again. it was only for 3 months so i said no - but the guy said he would give me another no. to ring when i asked if they could do that deal for a year. remember to have a good reason ready why you are wanting to cancel eg. sports is end of footie season!0 -
Thanks Firesidemaid. Ill have a look at auto aid.
Ref Sky - I got a deal last month when I wanted to cancel movies but that was my first ever. They usually call my bluff. I will certainly be trying again. The only took £31 this month when I was expecting £41 so hope they "forget" the £10 for the next two months as well!:j0 -
Two Amazon sales today totalling £34 :j .:j0
-
Three sales in total and a potential one subject to funds. Just posted on the Addicted to MSE thread because have you seen the time of this post! The cat woke me up wanting to go out.
Been eyeing up a small corner computer desk for downstairs after OH brought our old one back to life. It looked so scruffy where it was (not too out of touch with the rest of the room). Have cleared some stuff and space so will pick it up in the week. Will use Amazon monies to cover :money: .
Also need to paint the walls been in the house over 4 years and only one room painted so the rest now dirty magnolia. Doubt it will happen anytime soon but do need to get around to it and find some money from budget. Will be looking in instore (former £ shop) for some cheap curtains too.:j0 -
you were up early!
re. curtains. we recently needed 2 pairs for our bedroom, but i really didn't want to spend the money on them! i always have a look in the sale/clearance section in rosebys.
i had my measurements with me, and they either didn't have any this size or there were none left (popular/regular sizes i guess). then i started to see that there were quite a few in the widths i wanted but with longer drops. so i thought, what is wrong with longer curtains?;) i got 2 matching lovely lined pairs, one for £10 and one for £15! have a nose if you have a store near you x0 -
Another two sales so a total of £49.75 on its way from Amazon and the £8.50 still not showed up yet. Running out of things to sell at this rate. Still got car boots to do when weather gets better I dont intend on being snowed on again! Thinking about ebay but wary of it and more time consuming. Dizzy how was listing for you?
Spent a little bit on lunch yesterday and need to update spending diary. Also had to borrow £3 for colleague whip round. Hope that was enough to put in? The old office it was £1-2.
OH came upstairs all excited last night saying he had found a electronic golf trolley for £20. I showed no emotion so he left it at that. With the £30 desk due , holiday and the gold club I cant keep finding little extras even £20. He has got a relative who makes them apparently will wait for news on that.
Catalogue bill came through and nopw I have to pay. £32 sent. less than the £50 I had guestimated. It will increase in a few months when patio set gets added but since its interest free I wont overpay.:j0 -
morning!
just my twopenneth worth on ebay. i have bought and sold lots on there, but never bothered with amazon so i can't compare.
i am a big fan of ebay though and it can give nice surpises! also, you really can sell anything on there. i always try stuff on ebay first and if it doesn't sell after a couple of attempts, off it goes to a car boot once or twice a year.0
