  • Thanks - Well 50% successful on the cooking will try again next week. Stressed out today fed up at DD2 clothes. We havent sorted them in ages and alot dont fit her but she insists on wearing them. Spent 2 hours watching Eastenders instead on packing and the forecast for the week is rain. Last year we were away for the first floods and half the pitches (luckily not us) were flooded out. If we get freak weather on the Aug bank holiday youll know why!

Yeah Im a golf and football widow and other sports like the nas car american racing hes now watching. Believe me I wont get away with cancelling sky sports without a huge fight! Thankfully I quite like sport.

  • Great break over spent by £50 so will have to stick to GC this month. Weather mostly good. Cold by dry except Thur and Friday so thankful for that. Kids happy and I was training them the MSE way by setting them a £20 budget each and sticking to it although DD2 owes some pocket money.

Just go online after we came back to no connection. Two hours on phone to talk talk of which 1 1/2 hours on hold. Complaint put in. Technical support very mixed. Turns out the fault was at the exchange.

Back later after I done some catching up and reactivated Amazon. Hope you all had a great week too.

Hi there Wendy glad you had a great time and well done on the budget. £50 overspent is not too bad so don't beat yourself up too much about it.

I always do that with the kids when we're away, although I give them a daily allowance otherwise they'd spend their weekly allowance in one day!
  • A bit tight on the bank account front 34p left until Tues. Do have money in savings but dont want to use that. Hopefully expences will get paid by end of week and will get money from OH friday. Want to save most of this to put back into savings account.

GC not looking good either less than £30 left after overspend. Will amend to £270 and aim for that.

Going to have to budget more for next holiday spend wise £250+£40 startrek sale also £11 DS savings and £8 change all used. So £400 may be tight with Petrol included. So really overspent by £119.

Will redo yearly budget at the end of the month and see how things are going. Still got Amazon and carboots for extra cash. Pigsback at £22.50 ish. Moneysavingmadness to pay £39. Grocery budget of £250 a month tight but possible. £300 in xmas savings and £740 in savings account for upcoming spends.

Another thing that was a first is that I did not resort to using my cc for the first time ever so I know how much we spent. Before I would "fudge" ours spends with the odd cc purchase. Off to check that balance now.

  • OK I gave in and did a rough budget. I cant resist when something sticks in my mind which is why I chose the title of my diary! Things have changed so much in a few months. I have overpaid the loan by £100, not increased my debt , barely used the overdraft, have savings and a plan. Also if I remain careful I am actually not in a shortfall situation. :j
