I have downgraded my 3 Contract and been charged £25 'admin fee' for doing so. When I took out the contract (6months ago) I was told that after 6months I could downgrade for free. I've written/phoned but they're not budging. Any suggestions from anyone/are they allowed to do this?? http://img.moneysavingexpert.com/smilies/confused-smiley-013.gif0

I recently spoke with T-mobile my provider of mobile phone and data card and by removing the yearly upgrade and moving plans i have saved £756 over the next 18 months.0

I have been a loyal customer with T-Mobile since it went live years back (I even had a one2one 301 - a brick). My contract was due to run out, and asked if they could offer me anything for being so loyal. they reduced my line rental by a third, resulting in me paying only £20.00 per month. This included 75 text messages and free local, national and any mobile net work calls off peak. Not bad for a for only twenty quid a month (total saving, £120 for the year). has anyone else had any recent savings with mobiles, esp T-Mobile???Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0

Iam using a nokia n80 with free software called truphone installed(google it for more info)the software enables the n80 and some other phones to make voice calls totally independently of the network provider using the internet via the phones inbuilt wifi.Calls to uk landlines and many international countries ie usa, france, germany, australia(too many to mention)day or night are totally free until at least june 30th,the software can be a bit tricky to install on the n80 as it needs to have the latest firmware, use nokia software updater from nokia site(takes about 10 mins to update). If truphone still wont install(this is where it gets a bit tricky)you need to change the internal product i.d on the handset to 0544109 (latest european n80ie) using software such as NSS.if you run the nokia updater again it will then install the n80ie firmware, you MUST ensure that the phone does nt lose power or the data cable come lose while updating as it could seriously damage the phone.I hope this helps some one get free calls,it works for me and am well chuffed0

I have a similar deal with phones2udirect for a new Sony Ericsson on a 12 month contract, free connection, 400 minutes on orange, 100 texts, free itemised billing and 3 months free insurance. The cost is £540 a year (£45 a month), reclaimable in 3 portions of £180 at 6, 9 and 12 months.
I sent off my first claim back in Feb 07 and received a letter from them dated 12 April advising me that my "cashback claims have been rejected" as I failed to provide them with the order/invoice number in my covering letter as per their T&Cs.
As you can imagine I am really upset - if they had contacted me or written to me earlier, I could have provided them with the invoice number within the 21 days window for claiming. It seems they have deliberately taken 6 weeks to refuse my claim so I would not be able to rectify my ommission within the strict timescales.
To compound matters even more, I have now seen in the T&Cs the following "Where a Cashback is claimed in instalments, claims for subsequent instalments are dependent on acceptance of the previous claim."
So, does this mean they are effectively refusing to pay me any cashback at all?
Would really appreciate any help and advise to get some/all of my cashback.
Thank You.
PS. New to this forum so apologies for any mistakes, etc..0 -
Just getting to the end of my 12month contract with 3 (which was a completely free deal with cashback from simply3g). When I rang 3 to cancel we got all the usual "you have been such a good customer you can now get ....". Turned down all the offers and cancelled anyway.
Right, the contract is due to expire tomorrow and I've just had a call from 3 offering me 10 months free line rental, 11th Month at £1, and 12th Month at full price (£35). As this offer is directly from 3 there is no cashback to claim and vouchers to send in, the credit is applied directly to my account.
So a total of £36 for a full year (£3/month); 400mins(x-net)/250txt's/25 Video mins/25 Picture messages/£5 downloads per month, and no cashbacks to claim0 -
I've just found that because I don't have the original claim form i need to make my cashback claim to 'coolnewmobile' I won't be able to claim back any of the £450 cash back. I only lost the claim form because my computer crashed and deleted all saved data!!! I have everything else I need to make the claim [eg: ref no.s etc...].
Does anyone have any suggestions/advice?0 -
I've been stung by Orange. I've bin a cusomer for a couple years now and i renewed my contract with them last Aug for 240 minutes (month) 120 texts (month) which was doubled from previous contract with them. This time it was 18 month contract £35.00 (month) with free Sony Ericsson W3001. I though it was great until i received bill for £192.00. the minutes an txts were on offer that ran out 2 months ago so have been charged 85 pence for each text message i sent !!!0

Hi, just wanted the 'top bosses' to know that the link to "The Link" in the main article is no longer working. It just takes me to a site that says that advertiser is no longer working with them.
Since it's one of the links that say help the MSE, it's important to change, right?Being brave is going after your dreams head on0 -
Hi all,
I have recently been trying to cut down my mobile bill and am finally on a suitable contract for my useage. I thought I'd try and shave the last few pounds off my bill and asked customer services at Orange what other charges there were.
I found out I was being charged for itemised billing (£1.50, I think) and worse £3 for not paying my bill by direct debit. Right, I thought, I'll get rid of that and asked to set one up. I was told I could only have my account debited on 5 possible dates (21st-26th month if my memory serves me right). I said this was very inconvienient for me, as this is very close to my payday and I might not have enough left in my account if my bill was very high one month.
I asked for a date nearer the start of the month and was told that if they gave everyone the date they wanted everyone would have the start of the month and their computer system wouldn't work!!! (surely banks cope?) I asked the customer service rep to bring up my complaint with her supervisor, she said it was one of customer's top complaints, but nothing could/would be done about it.
So, a few questions...
1. Is it legal to charge for not paying by direct debit?
2. Is it legal to not offer any day of the month for a direct debit?
3. Anyone else had this problem and how did they sort it?
Thanks for your help
