Tesco Clubcard Plus - Double Points

another thing I can't work out - obviously it is better to keep your original clubcard separate as you get two lots of mailings (as I have learnt from this thread!!). HOWEVER I am saving my tesco vouchers over the next 2 years so I can get enough (or at least a significant contribution towards!) deals for laser eye surgery - I've looked at the T&C for it and it says the clubcard deals vouchers must be in the name of the person who the surgery is for -
so I just wondered would it matter that they came from two different clubcard accounts, or would it be ok because both sets would have my name on them and are linked to my address?

Stop using it then, if its no longer worth the extra points as you have to... er... queue?! It's exactly the same at the petrol station as it is in the supermarket - all the tills (I'm guessing) are chip and pin, so at the checkout you have to sign rather than enter your pin on the keypad. Yes, you have to leave the pump at the petrol station and actually walk to the kiosk and back in order to sign as the card is not chip and pin but I don't see this as a really big hastle?

Can anyone please clarify for me the way the clubcard plus works? When I first got my card I was using it just for points as they hadn't started to take my direct debit yet. The cashier was scanning it and it seemed to be adding on points. However, am I right in thinking that in order to get the double points you have to be spending on the card? So it just works like a normal clubcard if we don't use it to pay?

So today I loaded it with money at customer services. No problem, did some shopping and paid with my card. My points appeared, but were not doubled. I will keep a check on my statement to see if they do get doubled.

I'm wondering if the poster who said about needing to scan your card twice, once for points and once for payment, is right? Maybe this is what we need to be doing?

Yes, in order to get double points, you would need to pay for your shopping with the Clubcard Plus card. The card acts as a Clubcard card and a debit card in one. When you hand your Clubcard Plus card over to pay, the assistant will swipe your card once for the points, and then again if you are going to pay with the card. If you're not paying with the card, the card will be swiped once and single points will be added, if you pay with the card, the card will be swiped twice and double points will be added BUT you will not see that on your receipt straight away (not sure why that is ).

The points are added through Tesco Personal Finance, also not sure why they can't be added straight away, but next time you shop (particuarly if you shop once or week, if you shop daily it may not be the next time!) you should see a break down of your points as a Clubcard Summary which will state your total points and what this includes. In the what this includes section should be TPF Bonus Points and this is your Clubcard Plus points (unless you have more than one Tesco Personal Finance product which is where it would get confusing)...

I will be phoning up for an application shortly, I have a big family and thought I was doing well saving enough points to get us all into Drayton Manor for the day! (3 adult tickets, 4 childrena and one freebie under 4)

mum26, you can transfer funds via internet banking - not on your own banks website, but signing up for Tesco's internet banking. It can take up to about a week for the money to transfer from your own bank to the Tesco clubcard though so I just keep it topped up with double my normal shopping amount so it never gets below zero if that makes sense.

I gain most of my points from buying diesel for my company car - BUT - I use a company supplied fuel card to pay. There's no way I could work this with a Clubcard Plus to get double points is there ?
