Well even though I spent £84 in Ikea today, I have been much better recently. OH was with me today and we only bought things that we both agreed we needed for the home.
I have hardly bought anything in Boots recently, which was a big problem of mine and I really have my supermarket spending under control too. I write a list, buy what's on it then avoid the supermarket for the rest of the week otherwise I will spend, spend, spend!
Hope others are getting on well too x x:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Hi Guys,
I haven't been on here in a while but have been compulsively spending all over the place:eek: . I am setting myself a challenge this month and will be posting back on here as to how I'm progressing. My biggest downfall is cosmetics, skincare, shampoo etc. I have just spent a small fortune this weekend on stuff I don't need. When will I ever learn
My challenge is this:
I will stay out of Boots/Boots.com and any other chemist type places for the month of June.
I am allowing myself £75 per week to buy all necessary items. I will lift the cash out on Mondays and when it's done it's done:eek: No more cards. I have removed them form my purse.
I will keep motivated by coming on here regularly.
I think this all sounds doable when it's written down. Wish me luck:D100 Day Pot £13

Don't be too hard on yourself, you had a bit of a blip, and now you have some great challenges to keep you on the straight and narrow. Let us know how you get on.
I have to say - Boots has a lot to answer for, it just stocks too many blooming lovely things.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

All the best for the challenges - I am moving into a new and vastly more expensive flat this month (off to live solo for my sanity) so I need to be pretty strict with myself so that I can buy the essentials I need.
I'll go head to head with you if you like - I also won't set foot in anywhere selling lovely boots type things and I will stick rigidly to my £70 a week budget that I have set myself in the past and recently been - ahem - slightly screwing up
I do need to buy a few bits for the new flat but for June I am going to budget £50 to cover this (and it won't involve boots).
Do we have a deal??£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Excellent, I love a bit of a competition, right I'll see you back here for intermittent judgement days with a finale on 30th June
I may even post my spends up for scrutiny each sunday of the challenge (if I am feeling brave)
Thanks for the good luck - I am so excited something is bound to rain on my parade on 'the day'£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

I also take vitamin supplements; the first one is 'Selenium with vitamins A, D, & E', and the second one is a Co-Q10 supplement. Both are fantastic for combatting anti-oxidents, and vitamins A and E are great for problem skin. Boots are doing three for two on any of thier own-brand vitamins!
Beauty is only skin deep? My a**e!!! Are you spotty like me?!?! If it's not that serious a problem consider taking the Dianette contraceptive pill - it was something my doctor was pondering, but she decided the acne was too serious - AND CONTRACEPTIVES ARE FREE!! WAHEY!!! :T
Please tell me I've talked you out of it, I'd feel soooooo proud!!!!

Hi just been reading the many pages, I too suffer with my skin, well did until I used proactiv, you get a complete skin care kit, its in a 30 day or 90 day kit and its fantastic, the spots just dont seem to come back and the moisturisers so light under make up, i have spent a fortune on so many products over the years but could highly reccomend this one I am sure you wouldnt need the vitimins then either.Proud to be dealing with my debts :j

Having a good week so far. Well ok it's early on day 2 but I'm doing well. Spent £1 yesterday at Mums and Tots and had to spend £25 on petrol today. Will have to do some food shopping today or tomorrow (probably tomorrow as I'm just off night shift and am really tired). I will make a list and stick to it. No impulsive buys and stay away from Boots:eek:100 Day Pot £13
