-have started an ISA putting in £200 per month
-decided that I will pay off creditcard with savings
-weightloss to date - 14lb in 5 weeks
-OH have decided where we are getting married!! palm island in the grenadines (near barbados) - its perfect, private island, just 37 rooms (private huts with own private beach), no one under the age of 16 allowed - am soooooo excited. gonna plan for march 2010, so plan to be debt free before then and have enough savings in ISA to pay my half.

Hey all, just carrying on the compusive spending posts.
When I was a uni, I had no money, which made me want to buy things even more. Is it just me or when you have money, u can't find anything you want to buy, but when you have none suddenly everything seems so tempting!
Well.. I ran up a debt of £8000 in 2 years whilst at uni. I had two student overdrafts, credit cards, store cards, I just had to spend money - because I had none. I even went to measures such as getting a store card at Jessops, buying £250 digital cameras, £350 video cameras, etc, immediately selling them on ebay so I can have the cash!
This sent me into a spiral of depression, I was seeing a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with OCD, shock horror, I was a compulsive spender!
Just to add to it all, around the same time, I walked into a car dealership, and bought a £8000 car on finance, with no deposit, still a student and a 8 hour per week job - could I afford the repayments? of course not! i couldn't even afford to insure it, let alone run it.
I was stupid, and now i'm paying for it.
Funny though, that was 4 years ago, i'm a total little saver now thanks to all you guys on here

Thanks for my number guys
Number 37 checking in then! :roftl:
Well, no uneccessary spends for me (well, not really)
Got paid the other day... and so far all I have done is put petrol in the car and bought a print card up at the uni for some things I needed printed (£25 for petrol and £10 print card).
Some of you might see this as uneccessary but I don't lol.. I have to go to Belfast to get my Visa for going to America, so phoned and booked that ($131 - £75? ) for the 16th May. Phoned my friend and she said 'why don't we make a weekend of it'? So, booked flights today, for the two of us £100. (£50 each), she has paid on her debit card and I've to give her the money whenever. She can also get discounts on hotels so it's not too expensive, and not until May anyway so plenty of time.
On the down side, I spilt red paint all over my mums living room carpet (BEIGE) so have the insurance excess to pay on that: £125.
Also need to pick up my cd player for my car which has been sitting in Ford for 3 months - £120.
Owe one of my friends £40 for show tickets.
SO no money to spend on myself! I even resisted going to Tesco late last night! :rotfl:
