Hello peeps
I'm not doing too badly on the no spend front - although...
i did pop into the next sale on Saturday, but didn't see anything worth buying:j
BUT, i then bought one top from H&M and 2 from DP£15 each and two were in sale. But actually going to take two back so it's not too bad and the top i'm keeping is for work and will do me for the summer with some nice linen trousers (a future purchase;) )
Also had to tax car but only did six months as might change jobs and then won't need it. Which brings me to my next confession...
don't like my job v much and was so manically depressed this morning, that i drove to Tesco at lunchtime on a mission! Had about £12.50 in my purse which I had promised myself would last all week - who was i kidding?! Anyway tried on two nice skirts which were in sale, but they were a BIT tight - only a bit mind and they were a 14.:D Anyway nothing else worth buying so resorted to comfort food for lunch and wine (not for lunch :rotfl: ) and ended up spending £7.49. So now have pennies to last the rest of the week. I'm so rubbish.
I'm supposed to be going to London on Wed for an interview - well to be honest i think it's going to be more of a boot camp. Some "in-tray" assessment lasting 1hr 30, THREE role plays, and an hour long "structured" interview! Anyone would think i was applying to MI5! God knows how much train for that is going to be - if i go that is. Feeling a bit rubbish generally at the mo and really wish i knew what i wanted to do with my life!
Anyway, confession/rant over. Will try to be good for rest of week (which as I feel like living under the duvet for the rest of the week that shouldn't be too difficult ...

Hi all
Had a lot on this week and had so much work to do I've been absolutely shattered so went out to lunch with my friend yesterday (£10) then went a bit of shopping, but I didn't do too badly considering, spent £14 on a dress(which was an age 14!) £25 on boots, and £6 on a necklace (my friend had a student discount card for this). And a belt and another necklace. So all in all I only spent about £50 on shoes and £10 on lunch, don't think thats too badNo spend day today I think as working then working tonight
Hope you guyys are all doing well! x0 -
Morning all!
I don't know about April challenges, I think we should all start March all over again!!! Did any of us succeed in our challenges?
Yes, we'll do April challenges. This month mine is to not buy non-essential toiletries or make-up. That's a toughy!

hi, been lurking here and just joining in...like the thread...
i used to spend too much on magazines until i discoverered just recently that my library loans out new magazines, and a huge range too, you can have them free for one week....how cool is that :j if your library doesn't do this, why not ask, if enough people ask, then they will probably do it....saves a fortune:j
do you guys watch 'spendaholics' on BBC3 (i watch it on iplayer)...it cures me of ever wanting to spend money again ....well while i watch it anyway, but makes me realise how badly in debt somepeople are....0 -
Hi guys, newbie here.. have to confess to being a spendaholic in the past, but on the good news front my spending habits etc are definitely changing. It might sound obvious but I basically confided in close friends/family.. I make a point of trying to avoid the shops at weekends unless I take someone with me and I have asked them to ask me "do you really need that"? as a way of challenging my spending. Also when I go food shopping now I always make lists, never use my debit card but use cash instead and take advanstage of saving coins for emergency shopping at the end of the month.
It has been hard, I still have debts to pay but I do feel once you start changing your mindset and identify those triggers etc its part of the way towards spending less. My own experience, was also underpinned by depression and I am sure I am not alone there.. i.e I would spend to try to cheer myself up whcih would lead to more debt = viscious circle of debt etc.
This is such an excellent and supportive site, I have already picked up loads of tips thanks guys0 -

I still haven't been out of the house, the last time was Monday.
God I'm becoming a hermit.
Was tempted to buy something on Ebay and wasn't sure what I wanted, but I had to give myself a talking to, to stop it.
Topped my mobile up with £5 today so I could text my husband in Spain. I will be joining him on Sat, can't wait, but in the meantime I do text him quite a few times a day, so I suppose that is spending.
I haven't treated myself all week, so when i go to the doctors tomorrow in town, then no doubt, I'll buy myself a bit of something, like a Creme Egg, yum

Hi gang,
haven't been around much, not had much heart to concentrate on not spending! So basically spent far more than I should have done recently. Oh well.
