Hate to tell you this, but Lindt bunnies are three for the price of two in Woolies ! But well done on the self restraint! :D

You just had to go and rain on my parade, didn't you!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Today, I don't care! Apart from the food shop (£50), I've only spent £30 in seven days, with no (except the bunnies) compulsive spending! That's a minor miracle for me, such a break through! :j :T :j :T :j :T

Just hope that some of my pride and happiness can rub off on those who are struggling!

    Today, I think I've earned this: :A (;) )

Sorry, Complusive (do you know of another three people you can buy bunnies for? - I'll have one :D )

if anyone is interested, I didn't buy bday pressie at lunch as couldn't find anything nice, but bought 3 (!) bottles of wine for £15 (!) (but was £8 for one - am bit of wine snob i'm afraid - well not snob exactly but i know what i like and it aint cheap!) and some Kettle Chips. Also bought lunch which was very very bad as OH stood and made sandwiches last night and I made some for DS - why didn't i make myself some? I'll tell you why, cos I always think I won't eat lunch in an effort to lose weight and then am always starving and end up buying! Will I ever learn ? :(

Anyway now only have the princely sum of £14 odd left and !!!!!!, !!!!!!, !!!!!!, just remembered that i am supposed to be getting taxi home tonight - !!!!!!!! That will be £20 so maybe i will just crash at friends house

Have a good weekend everyone xx

The toothbrushes were a real bargain! Considering one branded one could cost you more than that! Apart from the biccies I'd say that none of those were compulsive spends - you could have spent much, much more on a moisturiser!
I went to Asda for the first time in three weeks today, and succumbed :o . I bought two Lindt chocolate bunnies (£1.49 each) - one for me, and one for a friend who's last day at work is today. I'm still quite proud of myself though; normally I would have come out with MORE tops for my daughter, maybe a cd, and plenty of other random c**p!!:j

toothbrushes were good "Wisdom" ones as mega- cheapy ones are a false economy i'd say. Semichem have some great special offers/multipacks etc. i grudge spending any money in boots unless it's vouchers from piggypoints!!!

well done on the restraint at Asda!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

EEK! Seems I've missed a few posts today. Glad to see, what I feel is my 'home' thread causing a stir.;) Just to put my thoughts down on the fact that people are revealing their spends. I can tell NOONE apart from you guys when I'm spending money to cheer myself up as they wouldn't understand. :o I'm sorry if this is upsetting to some of you and seems like bragging, but it really isn't. I can't afford the £400 I spent online this week. But i just couldn't stop.

I went out last night and only spent £4. I got rather pishhed - and you know how?!?!?!? me and my other skint friend jiggled our booties and got free drinks bought for us by random men. How sad is that?

This group is definitely making me think about my spending more - and maybe one day will help me stop.:D :D:D

:rotfl: :rotfl: me and my friends do that too!

As for the other comments re: 'bragging'. I don't feel the need to brag about shoes that cost the best part of £400 it's quite shameful. I'm not in huge amounts of debt, and £400 would probably clear about half of one of the cc's I have. But, at the end of the day, it was my choice to buy them, and I 'fessed up on here. Like I said in my post, it probably serves the purpose for others to thank god they aren't as much of a 'shopaholic' as they thought they were, that there are others that are much worse. There are other websites I visit that do promote bragging and 'look what I bought' etc.
Can i even be classed as a shopaholic? I'm not an impulse buyer as such, I even plan it. I'm planning to go to the shops tonight, probably come back with a whole new list of purchases! :rotfl:

  • Loopylu36 - sorry for the confusing you with my name but it really suits me :D

I'm not sure who it was earlier who said about hating spending cash. I'm the same I just can't seem to hand it over :p I like to keep it in case I need it which I will never will because I can never part with it - hope that made sense:confused:

Its so easy to spend with a card where you can't see money actually changing hands. I have hidden my credit cards in my house so any money I spend now is not adding to my debts, I accept it is also not paying them off but my life would be miserable if I couldn't treat myself once in a while. I am so much better than I used to be. I have been working in Cambridge today and the only thing I bought was my lunch normally I would have had a look round the shops and bought lots of stuff I didn't need:o

Has anyone read the Shopaholic books by Sophie Kinsella? They are fantastic well worth reading (from the library obviously I'm encouraging anyone to spend;) )

Thanks Little Miss - I might try the hiding the cards trick - might even cut a couple up next week.....Have read the whole shopaholic series, they make me chuckle. Suppose the difference is that character has a rich hubby to pay for everything :0)
