Have a lovely day everyone.0 -
Congrats Marie - What a gorgeous name (ty pink) - hope she's home soon so you can have a cuddle.
Cat - Well done in resisting the temptation and having a cup of tea!
Haribo - Hope you're feeling better for the accountant.
Well - took DD's and friend for a lovely long walk - started out all bundled up but by the time we'd got to the cliffs it was bright sunshine and we'd all stripped down to t-shirts (piccies of the views on my facebook if anyones interested).
I'm warn out now but DD's have gone to the park to make the most of the nice weather......actuallly - they've just come back looking for food....must dash..."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hiya!
Meanmarie Congratulations on your little gd and that's a lovely name, I've not come across it before and I've taught quite a few los.
Hilstep glad to see you back here.
Big hugs to those feeling unwell or with poorly sick family members and there seem to be quite a few.
I've not been around for a few days as DH had his 50th birthday party on Saturday and we've had a houseful of people staying with us. The party was great, lots of old friends came up for it and we didn't get to bed until 3am so we're still trying to catch up on our sleep!
DH got so many presents including lots of bottles of fancy whiskey, tons of books, dvds, cds, gift vouchers and a fab RM helicopter that we've all had such a laugh flying around the house!:rotfl:
Yesterday DD2 went back to school but DD1 got an extra day off as the heating in her school was broken so she was delighted! She spent the day with me and we did lots of exciting things like shopping and visiting the post office and the tip!;)
My parents are still in Oz and I checked their house and discovered that the downstairs hot tap pipe was frozen. So I turned off the stopcock and I'm returning again tomorrow to see if it's defrosted as the weather is supposed to be getting warmer. I've set the heating to come on for longer as this happened the last time they were in Oz and it seemed to do the trick.
This morning I helped at out church Drop In, which was very cold and we all kept our coats on and dranks tons of tea and coffee and moaned about the cold. Apart from the drop in temperature it is lovely here today, the sun is still shining but there is still frost and ice on the ground.
I'm going to give the house a good clean in a minute as it needs it after all of the extra house guests and I've got a huge pile of ironing to catch up on too  .
Have a great day!0 -
Afternoon all
As you can tell from my late posting on the board, hubby & I are still enjoying our Katy free time, lol.
It's cold & sunny here & the line is full of washing.
Congrats to MM, what a lovely name.
Hugs to Choc. Orange.
Thai style chicken for tea, apart from that our plans are to sit infront of the TV & watch a dvd, with no interruptions.
Have a good one
Hugs Hester

DD(22) is coming home for the weekend as well as her sister who will be 19 in a few days.
Spent ages last night trying to find a cheap train ticket from Oxford!
Found out that DH's uncle who is 92 had had a fall and broken his shoulder bone so was in hospital. We are all planning to drive to see him on Saturday. It is about 80 miles away or we would have gone sooner.
DH came home unexpectedy for lunch and was quite touched that I had seen him arrive and had a bite to eat and a cup of tea on the table for him.
He has just gone off on another visit so I am on my own.
Might make chicken curry for tea. It is so cold and icy outside I am not going to leave the house.
Having a cup of tea and waiting for headache to subside while debating about switching on the central heating.
Chocolate orange
So pleased you are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.
Hugs to everybody and see you later."This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all
Have woken up in grumpy old woman mode and it has just continued for the rest of the day. I really didn't appreciate OH waking me up at 8am when I don't have to get up with a cup of tea. I was fast asleep and like most of us on this thread really need to make my sleep up when I can  .
Decided to go to the allotment this morning with OH and DS, bad move, all they did was argue with each other. have told them I'm going to ban them if it carries on! Managed to get some potatoes and brocoli in. Looks like the weedkiller is finally doing it's job, am going to hire a rotavator to dig the rest over as I think it might just kill me.
Have managed to do some ironing. off to plant some seeds (chilli, basil and coriander). Need to sort out my car insurance renewal later.
CONGRATULATIONS Marie and Scuzz.
Hugs to all who need one.
Off to grump elsewhere. Have a lovely rest of day.

afternoon all,
DD and I took the dog to the beach, and the cold took your breath away, it was bitter but we had a great time, and had a picnic, took a whole roll of film, and DD decided that she was going to paddle  cue wet trousers and shoes up to the knees, came home and shoved all her stuff in the wm.
We are going to veg out and watch TV for the afternoon, then DD needs to go to Dr to have her ears syringed.
Got a banana loaf cooking and one more to shove in after, only one loaf tin, smells delish.
Have good afternoons all xx0 -

Congratulations Meanmarie (I'm sure you're not mean!!)
So far my DD hasn't had a single accident today!! Yippee! We even went out shopping earlier. She's even managed her number 2s, so I think it's been cracked. I think we just had to wait until she felt she wanted to get out of nappies. No point in forcing the issue and everyone getting stressed.
She is a bit of a pain in the b*m though at times. I don't know why we hear about terrible twos - the threes are a damn sight worse imo!0 -
Thank you all for your good wishes - I've been selected to be retained in my job after April :j  :T on a job-share with a good friend. My paid hours drop from 16 to 9, so I'll be making up the shortfall with volunteering.
Congrats to Granny Marie :A Lovely name.
