Help Please - My domain is trapped...

Glad to see everything turned out OK in the end.
If it's any consolation your problems prompted me to check my domains, some of which are due for renewal in the next couple of weeks, and I realised that I hadn't updated my old credit card details. I'm not sure what would have happened if I hadn't added my new details but it's all sorted now (not that anybody would want my domains!). But I would recommend that everybody checks their details and nominet registration to avoid possible problems.
If they're a good registrar they'll tell you when they're up for renewal, credit card problems and they shouldn't release the domain name the instant a renewal fails. They should usually keep it in holding for a while."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

All hosts have to give you 28 days after the renewal date to renew. Only after this period is the domain cancelled and released to be purchased by anyone.0 -

Now go to a Hotmail/Gmail account and open calendar and put in a reminder when they will expire and it will send you emails in the future.
Or even use Credit Card Tart Alert or even all three.0 -
Yes, Fasthosts emailed me a good month or so before my domain registration was up for renewal to alert me that my card details on the account were no longer valid so they couldn't automatically renew, which was quite good service I thought.0
