  • Shame! I'm 81 (oh yes I am!) and this would have been a great deal at around £30 for BB and dinner, but it's my wife's birthday the next available day and we're going away. Reckon they'll give us a rain check?
  • This is clear descrimination - end of..

Yes, you might walk out your door and bump into lots of descrimiation - does that make it right then as you have accepted it as the norm?

What would our society be like now if black people had excepted slavery as the norm?

Also, whether you take the offer up is not the point - the point is that this company is clearly descriminating by age and I am ashamed that Martin would promote a company that does so

Many peoples views would be different if their offer was more cut and dry, like white people/men/people in the south/labour supporters etc. etc. get XYZ more discount than those that are not - Come on, you know there would be uproar if this happened!

If the offer was reversed - the youner you are the more discount you get - there would also be people upset - because it is clear descrimination!

Ooh - and it's so selfish of women to take even more advantege of this offer because they live longer than men. Someone ought to do something about that, too!!

[BTW - The word's 'accepted' not 'excepted'].

  • Do you have to write in big red letters like that? It's really quite annoying.

I think the point you've missed is that if you're a young man with this offer, you haven't got the freedom to take up the offer, because you're not allowed...

If you don't feel this offer is going to save you money, then, !!!!!!, DON'T USE IT!!!!

It's on the site for information. It's not compulsory to use it, but if you're gonna stay at a hotel in a week or so's time, it MIGHT save you some money, or maybe help you get a better hotel room for the price you were gonna pay for a cheaper one, but the advice is still there to shop around.

Surely this site isn't here to make our moral judgements for us but to give us information to help us make our own judgements on value primarily. Stuff like morals and ethics are differently valued by each individual and it's upto each individual to take their own moral and ethical values into account when choosing how they spend their money.

So if you don't like the offer, don't use it. But PLEASE don't start suggesting what (potentialy moneysaving) information 'should' or 'should not' be communicated by this site, as this removes our liberty to make our own choices.

Rant over. Thanks for the tip off, MSE!!

Quite disgraceful that they're doing this on a couple of levels:

    1. It is clear discrimination (sp?) on the grounds of age.
    2. They have hiked up their prices to account for the "offer".

I'm quite ashamed that you've advertised it for them to be honest Martin.

not bothered about whether its for old people only but they obviously think us men dont have mothers....oh well their loss

If this is for women only does that mean that you get the discount for the oldest female in the room?

Oh and for the record i agree it's a bit of fun for mothers day.
  • !!!!!! chill out its just a blooming promotion, they are trying to get people in for mothers day, does it really matter if a few old ladies get a good deal? It doesnt say they cant take a fella with them, good luck to em I say, relax and let people go and enjoy it if they fancy it!

What's the problem, this is a promotion for MOTHER'S DAY celebrations!

I suppose when blokes can do 40 hours labour and then push the baby out, tearing in half (or thereabouts) in the process, having stitches all the way up to their bums for weeks and not be able to sit down or sleep through the night for several months ahead, when they have to have their tits mangled to smithereens to feed the baby ETC ETC ETC (I could see a rant developing, here, so I shall stop while I'm winning LOL),

    THEN

they will be able to claim a discount for Mother's Day!

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

  • It also coincides with the one date that (traditionally) women can propose!!

Bit of fun all round, I'd say.
