Stay at Malmaison hotel & get a discount of your age as a percentage off the rate

Update 12pm Weds 20 Feb: Although we were led to believe this promotion was open to all, unfortunately Malmaison's PR team has just informed us that only women are able to receive this discount (even though this isn't stated on the Malmaison website).
What's the deal?
How old are you? The older the better for this deal.
Book a room at posh hotel Malmaison between Friday 29 Feb & Sunday 2nd March and, as a special Mother's Day promotion, you'll get a discount of the age of the oldest person staying in the room as a percentage off the room rate (must be proved with a passport/driving licence).
Thus...
If you're 40 you get 40% off.
If you're 60 you get 60% off.
If you're 100 it's FREE
This offer was on last May too, then only three hotels were included compared to all eleven this time round (Belfast, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Oxford).
Go quick the stock is limited, but don't assume its always cheaper
Obviously the older you are the more stonking the deal. Yet its worth being aware this promotion's cheapest room rate starts from a heftier-than-normal £145 (£215 if in London) which is quite a lot higher than its normal online rate of £99, or £125 in London; thus for younger souls its not always worth it.
- If you're under 30, this offer won't save you money compared to booking online at any other time in the year.
- Those between 30 & 50 should double check the price after discount compared to booking online, as it all depends on the type of room you're after.
- If you're over 50, or taking someone over 50, you should be saving on your stay.
It'd be great to hear if anyone gets it free or nearly free.
The winner so far (posted below) A night in a £235 room for £4.50 as her mum is....... 98yrs old!!!!

How to get your discount
Decide which Malmaison hotel you want to stay in and give it a call quoting 'passport'.
Once you arrive at the hotel, simply show the receptionist a photographic proof of ID (either a passport or driving licence will do).
Visit the hotel's website to read the promotion's full terms and conditions.

Quite disgraceful that they're doing this on a couple of levels:
1. It is clear discrimination (sp?) on the grounds of age.
2. They have hiked up their prices to account for the "offer".
I'm quite ashamed that you've advertised it for them to be honest Martin.0 -
indeed monkey. I'm going to find someone who is 110 so I can smile when they are paid to stay over.0

Oh the irony! I'm not the "PC" brigade, quite the opposite to be honest.
I see age discrimination happening very very often, more so than on the grounds of gender, sexuality etc etc, it just goes unnoticed, but this is so blatent!
Could you imagine if they'd said "Woman can have a 75% discount"? Actually, bad example because that'd probably be seen as fine, scrub that, what if they'd said "Men can have a 75% discount, but women only a 10% discount" - there would be an outcry, they'd be getting sued, fined and all sorts.
What about if they were offering straight people at 90% discount but gay people only a 20% discount?
It's rediculous.
I'm not PC by any stretch of the imagination (you don't know me, but I'm not, trust me) but this is just wrong.0 -

I think you need to get a life! Women do get cheaper car insurance, are you going to sue car insurers? This offer is just a bit of fun, why shouldn't older people get a bit of a discount in a luxury hotel. I am saying this as a person in his 30s. I will be emailing my parents about the offer this evening.0
