Have I got the job?!

Thanks Phirefly.. to be honest, I feel okay about it.. all I wanted was a straight answer.. i'm not a patient person. haha
I might just complain to head office about the way I have been treated by a supposedly professional company. Just to make it clear, the recruitment advisor works for the place I was applying for, he doesn't work for a recruitment centre.
It has certainly put me off applying there again, and if I were ever in a position to use their services higher up in my career I would think twice. His behaviour has reflected very badly on the company, and they probably arn't even aware.BSC Member 155

I've been following this thread with interest G-G and was holding out hope for you. Sorry it hasn't worked out. I know it's no consolation but I believe these things happen for a reason and life usually leads us down the right path in the end. Hope you find something soon.0

"Mmm, !!!!!!. All recruitment consultants are. They always have been."
Thanks:rolleyes:Compulsive Spendaholic #150 -
GG - onwards and upwards, they have showed their true colours havent they, try and see it as a blessing in disguise hon.
You could maybe write a letter advising them of improvements they could make in their recruitment processes?
But then again I may be tempted to draw a line under the whole thing and pledge to learn from it and as you say never go near them again.Compulsive Spendaholic #150 -
Yes I have found that quite often - jobs that they advertise that aren't available even if they only just advertised them! Or for some reason, despite the advert stating what qualities or experience is required and you can demonstrate you have it, the job is never suitable for you!!!!!
Have you considered asking for feedback as to where you went wrong?0 -
To be honest I wouldn't have wanted to work for them after all that messing you about!
And personally I don't think all recruitment consultants are useless etc... you get good ones and bad ones like any other profession. Some will promise you the world and then you don't hear from them for MONTHS and all of a sudden they start calling again with oppertunerties... I had the great satisfaction today of telling one such person that whilst he'd been too busy to call me and let me knwo if there were any positions about I've now accepted a role FAR above the payscale of anything he's now suggesting... "Oh well if you should think of changing your job again in the future just give me a call!"... yeah sure I will... I'll ignore the nice ladies who called me daily with updates and chased after oppertunerties for me... I think not!

I think it's best you forget about the whole thing now and move on to bigger and better things
That having been said, before you do so, it might be worth giving the guy a call and asking for some feedback on why you didn't get the job and what you could do differently in future.
(although, in their defense, maybe it's just a case that there was someone with more experience that applied or something - so it might not have been anything you did at all...)0 -
Don't bother with feedback - the little toad wouldn't have the courage to be honest anyway - but do send something like this :cool:Dear Manager of Mr ****
Re: The Post of Business Analyst
I recently attended an interview held in three stages for the above position. I was told at the third and final stage by Mr **** that I would be contacted before the end of the week and advised if I had been successful or not in my application.
As I had not heard anything by Monday I emailed Mr **** to find out the current situation. I was surprised to receive no response. I rang him later that day and was assured by Mr **** that he had intended to telephone me with an update that same afternoon. He confirmed he would indeed be ringing later. As he did not ring me later, I called him the next day to be told that he needed to have a confidential conversation with me and would ring without fail within the hour. I was not rung within this specified time and in fact received an email from Mr **** advising that he would be working from home and would phone later than afternoon. He then emailed the next day to advise that a letter was in the post. I received a standard letter posted 2nd Class two days later advising that I had not been successful on this occasion.
I feel that Mr **** conduct has been very poor with regard to my application and his unfulfilled promises of phonecalls. This reflects badly on both his own professionalism and that of your company. I feel that I am owed an apology as I was fobbed off and made to wait for over a week for a response that was promised within 3 days of my final interview. Further, Mr **** advising that he needed to talk to me confidentially was very worrisome when he could easily have explained that the results of job applications are always made confidentially.
Yours Sincerely
etc etc0
