Reminds me of when I have been for jobs (at a major retailers' head office) wouldnt hear anything for 3/4 weeks (even though they say you would hear earlier) then I would get a letter through rejecting me. I make a point of asking for feedback, its interesting to see where people think you went wrong and how to improve in the future.
I used to think that I was perfect and it was recruiter's issues, but at the end of the day, I prefer to know what they didnt like about me, rather than drive myself mad thinking about it.
Interestingly, a couple of jobs I went for, popped back up a month later, evidently the person they chose didnt cut it and left.
One, I was headhunted for, got past first interview stage and had my second interview, had to move rooms 3 times due to building work and noise etc, then I didnt get through, they werent sure I was the real deal and sounded too ruthless.
They got a lass in who got to 2nd stage too (out of 18) and she took the job, this was Dec, surfing Monster other day, the same job is up again! She must have left.
I wouldnt work there anyway, but I've often wondered why they dont contact people who were rejected, were they that bad, surely if they got to 2nd stage they have to be worth a bash. Or is it the company admitting they were wrong?0 -
Hi G-G, just read this post and think you were also treated appallingly by the man, did you ever send the letter ?? if so what was the response ?
Also, don't know if you would want to answer this but what company was it ??I understand ALOT more than I care to let on
