Have I got the job?!
Comments

Thanks for the replies... Much appreciated x
I did ask in the interview about start dates and they said they have another business analyst and an administrator starting on the 25th, so they would want us all to start together.. that is on monday!
I'm just so confused I don't know what to think anymore.. it's really knocked me for six to be honest, and I have to admit my confidence has really taken a bashing..I was so happy after the last interview, and now all this.. if I had know I would have probably just stuck it out at my old crappy job..
I feel a little silly now.
I have applied for a few jobs, my problem is I am an undischarged bankrupt and so my main area of work is the financial services sector, which obvious causes a clash. even though I probably could advise on others finances much better than I ever could before.. :ABSC Member 155

Kellogs- Bit of a generalisation!!
G-G please don't take this personally, you have been dealt a really raw deal, but imagine if you had the job and had a problem, or an issue with your wages or needed some support, and this is the way you would be treated. Get back out there and take all the experience you've gained, those assessment centres are notorious b*** aches and if you've done well there you'll fly the next one.Compulsive Spendaholic #150 -

Don't feel silly. Thats what we're all here for, complete strangers who don't know you so you can be completely open without caring what we think of you
I bet your friends and loved ones don't think you're silly. Have confidence - you'd not have got this far with the recruitment process if you weren't up to it.0 -
Awww bless Phirefly, you have been a great help x
I think my problem is that I do take things personally.. and I always think that nothing better will come about... wish I was a bit more optimistic I must admit.
I guess I would just like a bit of honesty from them really.. A straight answer.BSC Member 155

When you do hear, if you haven't been succesful you can ask for feedback and they should be able to let you know what went against you.Compulsive Spendaholic #150

Good advice.
Last time I asked for feedback on a position I was rejected for at initial application stage, I was told 'Well the only thing really is that your handwriting wasn't quite right' Even though in my covering letter, I'd expressly stated that the pdf I'd attached represented only one aspect of my extremely varied handwriting which would be evident on viewing my full portfolio.
That one was DEFINITELY their loss....
However, now I do not attach examples of my work on initial contact, I say that samples are available on request and if they do request, I ascertain precisely what kind of handwriting they're looking for, so I suppose that feedback has helped.0 -
I can't believe you're still waiting G-G
I was once turned down for a job because they weren't sure if I could cope with shifts (I was already working shifts at the time) and then they offered the position to someone who had never done shifts at all :rotfl:
I think the real reason was that I'd been recommended to go for the post by a friend who already worked there (we had worked together previously) and the interviewer guy kept saying weird things at the interview like 'I expect you know all about such and such'. I kept saying no as my friend is not a gossip and hadn't mentioned any personal stuff. He then said he'd phone the successful candidate the next day. I didn't get a call so I phoned for feedback (I always do) the day after and he demanded to know how I knew I didn't get the job. I said he, himself had said he would phone the successful candidage the next day and he hadn't phoned me so it seemed pretty obvious  .

It's crap isn't it.. stupid things to reject someone on in my opinion..
Well it's nearly 1pm, so he has had all morning to call and nothing.. Oh well..BSC Member 155

Personally, I never bother requesting feedback after interviews (because I'm perfect
no seriously, I don't because a) I usually know what went wrong in an interview eg fluffed answers, no rapour with the panel etc and b) I've never been given a convincing answer to the question! In my experince, if you have the right credentials and experience and the interview went well (its unusual for you to feel it went well if you actually died on your a***) internal candidates are usually the culprit. I gladly take feedback if offered but never seek it, whenever I do I'm usually patronised within an inch of my life!
G-G, do you want to work for a company who would mess you about and not return your calls in this way? I think you might be about to have a lucky escape"I always pass on good advice. It is the only thing to do with it. It is never of any use to oneself" -Oscar Wilde0 -
Well, I tried to ring him about 10 mins ago after my OH said how bad it was that they were messing me about..
Didn't get an answer from the number
5 mins later, I get an email from him saying a letter has been sent out to me today and sorry he couldn't get back to me yesterday as his internet connection was down.
I emailed back and just said 'I take it I have been unsuccessful then?' - waiting for a reply.
I'm crying.. I don't believe how much they messed me about.. and now I don't have a job at all..BSC Member 155
