Still waiting.. I must admit, I had a very high opinion of them before all this, but now I am really peeved.. I was meant to know by the weekend at the latest..

I guess they are busy, and like you say I am sat here waiting, so time is going much slower for me.. but I have given up my old job and if I havn't got this job I need to start looking asap as it takes a while to get through interviews etc..

Well, the recruitment guy actually works for the company.. kind of in-house recruitment man.. if you get me..

Wouldn't hurt to start looking now - as you well know, the recruitment process is a loooong one, and it will take your mind off things....

My favourite is bypassing recruitment websites and instead scouring the recruitment pages on websites of companies I aspire to work with. Even if my job description isn't being recruited for, I read these ads anyway to get details of people to contact speculatively.

Its just rude isn't it. I work in recruitment and I dont know why people give deadlines and things like that, they may be waiting to finish interviewing all applicants, an internal candidate may have applied late, it could just purely be a salary/package wrangle.
Lots of luck- make sure you get a full explanation and feeback whatever happens x

I think I may start looking... Might aswell... I guess i'm just hoping i've got this so I don't have to look, but i'm getting a bit annoyed now..

If I say I will ring someone I do.. even if I havn't got the answer, I ring and let them know I havn't forgot..

This is only wild speculation based on my experience, but I think they're hedging their bets. Sounds like they're waiting on the outcome of something before they tell you either way. Im generally an infuriating optimist, but I can't help thinking you're best to assume its bad news here, then anything else is a bonus....
