here's a good handy domestic tip, for the man about the house. Instead of scrubbing the oven or oven trays for hours to clean all the black grime off of it, use some GUNK engine degreaser. Or better still, buy a new one.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

OVEN
Put tin foil in the bottom of the oven and replace when it gets dirty.
TEA
If you like weak tea and make it in a cup, then rather than throwing the tea bag out put in another cup and just add your hot water. I know someone who does this and manages to get 6 cups of tea out of one teabag!!
CONTAINERS
Cut open containers as you would be amazed at the amount left which you cannot squeeze out.
COOKING
Use what is left in the cupboard and be inventine rather than buying more food. Rather than buying another cereal use what is there, instead of buying more vegetables, use what you have. (Must make a mental note to do this, lol!!)
BATHING/SHOWERING
Share a bath/shower with your significant other, saves on hot water!! (lol!!):shhh: :silenced:
STOP SPENDING & GET JOBS DONE AROUND THE HOUSE
Tidy home and you will find lots of things you bought and never used or things which you meant to do. Do them and you will not be shopping online or nipping out to the shops.

Worcester sauce will clean the copper on copper bottomed saucepans.
Someone told me tomato ketchup works too but haven't tried that.0 -
I re-use old cleaning spray bottles and re-fill them with water and a squirt of washing up liquid for light cleaning, re-fill another with water and bleach solution for use in the bathroom and/or kitchen, and re-fill one with Zoflora concentrate disenfectant - just a little in the bottle and top up with water - I use this as an air freshener and disenfectant spray. Its also good sprayed in smelly trainers!!0

I always keep a couple of pairs of disposable gloves in the cars' glove box for whenever the car gets a puncture, no messy hands. Also a smear of copper grease on the wheel studs helps the removal of said wheels.Every day above ground is a good day.0

I have just seen "sockies" in my local Morrisons £1.49 for 12, more or less what you suggest but with a handy hook to put them on the washing line. So I thought if you were to pierce a hole in 2 lids & join with string or a plastic cable tie you too could have a way to hang socks out.:)Every day above ground is a good day.0 -
I use normal bath bubble bath as shower gel. They have the same ingredience and the bubble bath is so much cheaper than shower gel.“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

When making coffee, heat up some milk in the microwave, pour into a plastic milk carton and give it a good shake. Instant cappuccino. £2.50 in a fancy coffee shop,
free of charge at home.0 -
Put an old sock on your hand to do the dusting. It protects your nails too.0

Put a dry towel in the tumble drier with your washing and it will reduce drying time by about 10 minutes, and try to never put washing in straight from the washing machine, always hang it for a bit to dry off first.
You don't need to use furniture polish, aside from being expensive it is a chemical and actually attracts dust!
'Damp dust' instead, use a j cloth (I mean cheepy ones) wet and squeezed almost dry, gets rid of the dust, last longer is much quicker and is far better for Asthma/chest sufferers.
I use one cloth to clean the whole house, just keep rinsing it out, finish with a yukky job such as cleaning the bin then throw it.
You can still use polish occasionally and it will look even better as there wont be a build up of residue.
I still remember going to a friends house after school, her Mum was using a yellow duster and I thought she was so rich as my Mum used my Dads old underpants!
I guess old underpants are just as good.
When I had my child benefit paid by order book I got it on a Monday, next week Tuesday following week wednesday etc., once a month you get a free weeks worth!
They pay into my bank now but it still works if you get a set amount of money out weekly.Waddle you do eh?0
