I realise that a lot of this thread is about firefox but there is a free alternative version to MS browser that adapts it and makes a fantastic difference. Try this and you won't need an alternative - http://www.avantbrowser.com/0

Many thanks to sra with the help for multiple users of Firefox. I forgot to say I use an Apple but with his suggestions as a basis we have now sorted it so it was very helpful info.0

Have a look in the gmail help files. They are comprehensive and you might find the answer. Failing this email gmail. They are good at responding.

Martin, I have RSI and I use a voice recognition program called "Virtually Speaking" no. 7 made by Dragon. It is excellent, and it allows you to type to your heart's content without hands!0

Might be a bit difficult if he/she can't get into gmail in the first place.
Kind of like when you are held in a phone queue when calling a support computer centre and they have a message saying 'you can also get support on our website...' which isn't much use if your bleeding computer isn't working in the first place!
Anyway I know that I had problems opening my gmail with Firefox - it used to get stuck at a blank white screen.
Try Opera instead - much faster too in my experience.

Go to Google's main site and post the problem to them through the 'contact us' link. ( google.com)
Also everyone might like to know that Google has now produced a google toolbar for Firefox. You can get it from:

Gmail should work fine in Firefox, but try this link- http://gmail.google.com/gmail/h/
This was suggested by the Google team so I could access Gmail on a PC where ActiveX had been turned off in IE (a work PC with extreme security), and it gives a more basic access to Gmail.0 -

then Advanced on the Left, scroll down to Security.
It should be on by default
So, er, Firefox Tools etc says it is, and Firefox Download Extensions says it isn't.
