You can freeze cheese and most people recommend grating it first. If you do freeze it in blocks, it usually is much more crumbly when you defrost it.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

u can freeze it as a block ot grate it i find grating better as it goes crumbly anyway and also if u have a block you'll have to defrost and use it all but if it's grated u can just defrost what you need or use it straight from frozen

Yes, you can. Do bear in mind that it will be crumblier in texture, but you can get around that by pre-grating first. Put it into a big bag and give it a shake every so often so it doesn't form one huge, unusable ball.
Re the contact lenses: My bill has just gone from £30.00 to around £15.00 for the monthlies (the ones you sleep in). That was only from the optician suggesting a different, newer brand. If you wanted to have a look online, have a look in this thread first.

Ditto on the cheese.
As for the contacts - my OH cut his bill by changing opticians - he now buys them from the one in Asda. Had to pay for another eye test, but he reckoned the saving justified the cost of the test.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
Thank you everyone for your replies. I have just found another freezing cheese thread as well, am going to give it a try tonight and will grate some of it. Some of the blue cheeses will just cut up into smaller pieces and freeze.
Thanks also for the pointers on the contact lenses, just off to check those out.
