I freeze it all the time - I find it easier to grate before freezing and I often use it straight from frozen into recipes or on to spag bol x

I freeze it all the time but just grate straight from frozen. It works fine and the grated stuff does not need further defrosting. The big piece remaining goes back into the freezer for next time.

We keep frozen parmesan ready pulverised (I can't call it grated, we normally shove it through the blender) for sprinkling on things. No problems. We do the same with cheddar actually although we do grate that.

  • Stupid question - can I freeze it. Got some at Costco, but as I am on a diet, I need to ration it!

Not sure...what I do is make some toast, butter then add a scrape of mustard or marmite then thinly sliced tomato & onion to one slice, spread the cheese on the other half, mate the two halves together & then bung in the microwave for 30 seconds or until the cheese is melted..
