New to the board, just wanted to say I have been reading with interest and have wanted to try using coupons but was not sure how to go about it, today went to Tescos and did a shop of about £50 handed over a moc for 50p on an item I had not brought and i went through! Okay so I know its only a small amount but I now can start to collect bigger value coupons, just hope stores do not stop allowing them before I have had chance to get addicted!!:j :j :j:A0

Should we start a list of branches which don't accept any coupons?
Hi Nine Tails, Waitrose coupon acceptance policy also varies form store to store.
Mine accepts max. 3 coupons per transaction as long as they stock the items. They don't accept Daily Mail book coupons or magazine coupons cut out of newspapers.
So it's good to save the higher value coupons for this.0 -

Thanks twiz21 - family was so impressed with my couponing last 2weeks, so I'd be so annoyed to fess up that I now have a useless pile of Huggies coupons!0 -
Again, couponing still alive in the South........... a friendly self scan supervisor was most obliging. I got £11 off my shopping... a £70 shop, and my daughter £9 off a $45 shop.......
My advice? Make friends with your self scan supervisor..........2011: £10 Sports Direct Voucher, Peppa Pig Wii Game, Trivial Pursuit Card Game, £100 Chat magazine win, Dance workout dvd, Grease wii game,0 -
what is the actual policy for Tesco? Is it written anywhere?
our tesco now says 10% of the bill (which has changed used to be any number).
Also, do you have to buy the item in Asda or what is their policy?
thanks Lisa0 -
Well I feel as though I've got my own back on Tesco slightly.
They would no longer take my coupons unless I bought the product which left me with a pile of huggies coupons BUT yesterday amazingly I received a baby pack from Tesco.Didn't know I had applied for this as my daughter is 12 but hey ho.
In it was all kinds of points coupons when you buy baby stuff. To cut a long story short today I have spent £20ish to get £50ish worth of stuff and gained 1575 clubcard points but then I used 8 huggies vouchers beacause I had bought the wipes which were BOGOF so I didn't pay anything for them!!Total outlay £12 and gained £63 worth of deals.
Now I just need a friend to have a baby and I've got a fantastic baby hamper waiting to go!!
I thought Tesco had won this one but thankfully not. Also used OH clubcard because I'm getting a bit paranoid about my own:eek:0 -

It happened to me, too. I signed up the Financial Times trial and was sent 4 weeks of newspaper coupon each worth £1.5. I have been using them in different supermarkets and my nearest Tesco express has stopped accepting them last week. The self-scan screen first asked for approval, when it was approved, it then said "coupon not allowed." Luckily the store was extremely busy at the time so they didn't have time to check my coupon.
Hope it won't happen in all Tesco.....0 -
me too - had my MOCs refused last night - reason being you have to buy the item to use the coupon, just smiled sweetly and paid - heaven knows in the last few months I have used hundreds of pounds worth of MOCs - so if the bubble has burst, I have had a good run - that's not to say that I won't try again with a different SA next week - that said, if they are not accepting MOCs as they have in the past, I will be defecting to Morissons, cos the high points coupons/codes have totally disappeared, and Tesco prices are hiked all the time0

sa today in Tesco said she had been tols not to accept coupns over £1 unless you bought the item- but I hope it was just a mistake...I've thought before it was ending and its just been a blip.0

Thanks to hidetheplastic.
I found this on another thread - you might want to have a look. I'll have to be confident to confront them with it.
