After 40 minutes waiting to speak to Customer Services tonight I was assured that the Energy Online tariff will NOT be affected by todays increases
The guy I spoke to was SO confident this is the case that he gave me his name , ext no. and his managers name!
They want to keep Energyonline customers sweet as they are cost effective apparently0 -
Awaiting on an email reply from them re price increase. Can't get through by phone!!Lang may yer lum reek !!0

tonight I was assured that the Energy Online tariff will NOT be affected by todays increases
However having read indigogirl's comments, I rang a third time, and this time did not say which tariff I was interested in. I just asked whether the increases were general, or were some tariffs excluded. I was then told that the Age Concern and Energy Online tariffs are NOT affected.0 -
5 day wait at the moment for responses to emails according to the automated response i got to my email0

Hi indigogirl,
Don’t hold your breath – Powergen CS from managers down are all lying bas***ds!!!
After reading Jodie’s post on Sunday I contacted Powergen’s CS yesterday afternoon and was informed by a representative and his supervisor that my information was incorrect and they had no knowledge of any price rise now or in the near future.
As for their assurance that the, “Energy Online tariff will NOT be affected by today’s increases”. Another lie!!!
I live in the Eastern region and am in mid switch to Powergen.
Energy Online Duel Fuel prices including VAT
before 2nd November:
Gas standing charge £41.96 per annum
Gas unit charge: 1.485p
Electricity Economy 7 standing charge £52.64 per annum
Electricity Day unit charge: 6.02p
Electricity Night unit charge: 2.95p
From 02nd/03rd November:
Gas standing charge £45.99 per annum
Gas unit charge: 1.63p
Electricity Economy 7 standing charge £57.30 per annum
Electricity Day unit charge: 6.55p
Electricity Night unit charge: 3.21p
For my annual duel fuel consumption, uSwitch now say Powergen’s Age Concern tariff is in 2nd position but Powergen’s Energy Online Duel Fuel tariff has slipped to 9th.
I shall continue the switch to Powergen, collect my £40 Currys voucher and 1,000 Tesco clubcard points [£10] then switch again.

Is there a time limit you have to be signed up with Powergen? I was just thinking of canceling during the 14 day cool off, but I like the idea of getting the tesco points before switching again.0

Hi Mando,
From memory, you will receive 500 Tesco clubcard points for each fuel switched.
You should receive the points on the day your account goes live.
The Currys voucher is dispatched 5/6 weeks after your account goes live.
I will be switching as soon as I've received both.Do It To Them Before They Do It To You0 -
Thanks Fastflys.0

According to the Energywatch website:
"Existing Powergen EnergyOnline, Powergen Staywarm and capped electricity and gas customers are unaffected by the price rise".
See http://www.energywatch.org.uk/media/show_release.asp?article_id=792 for more details.
As I'm in the "cooling off" period right now I wonder whether I am an existing customer or not !!0 -
I've only just started on this moneysaving lark. I've just messed around with my savings accounts, and credit cards and think I am getting the hang of it. However, I have just on the advice of MSE, switched from British Gas and Southern Electricity, to Powergen. From this thread, it seems that I may have not done the right thing. How do I find out how much I am paying right now from BGas, and SElectric, in comparison to how much I will pay with the price rise from Powergen. I'm confused if the price rise will affect me as I did the switch last week and like others am in the 'cooling off' period. Also, I switched using the link from MSE, getting the £10 cashback, but am confused at how I could have received the £40 Currys voucher, and Tesco points.
Will someone point me in the right direction please - I'm still learning!!
Thanks,
Claire0
