hopecross asked:Can anyone tell me whether this means i will really have to pay 9% more
Your best bet for the answer is to ask Powergen - 0800 05662820 -
Yes, it's unbelievable, but Powergen raises household energy bills again. See:

Having only just requested a change to Powergen through one of mse recommended sites and having not yet received the paperwork would the best solution be to revisit the site and start off from scratch, then cancel with Powergen?

Yorkieds, has your new tariff been affected?
(This latest announcement doesn't mean they are increasing every tariff)
The tariffs affected are the ones with no standing charge.0 -
The only onfo I have is on the confirmation printed off the internet site which states tariff:-

Arrrrgggh ! I could
I just arranged a switched to Powergen this afternoon. Now I need to cancel my transfer and recheck my best buy (I presume it will be a few days before energyhepline will be updated ??? - Anyone know how often they update their tariffs following a suppliers price increase?)Lang may yer lum reek !!0 -
I changed over last week and I'm still in the 14 day cool off period and heard that Powergen have increased their price. I've looked on uSwitch comparison and they now don't come out at the top for savings. Anyone know if the comparison tools update the prices with the new ones?
Powergen's own site quoted me £60 less than the comparison site - so I'm lost as to what to do!0 -
It's possible that this latest price hike by Powergen will start a new round of increases by all suppliers. I was just about to switch so I'll wait for the dust to settle. If the oil price levels out energy prices should stabilise but if they continue to rise this will trigger further price increases.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0

Even if oil prices halved from 50$ a barrel to 25$ there`s no chance of any of the power companies putting their prices down.
The whole market is based on confusion with so many different tariffs and discounts that it`s impossible to compare like with like.
The comparison sites will tell you anything because every time they get someone to switch they get their commission from the power companies.0
