just remembered : MRSM how did the naan breads turn out?
I just found a recipe for some
Ingredients (For 8 breads):
• 1½ teaspoons dried active yeast
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• 300g plain flour
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ½ teaspoon baking powder
• 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
• 75g natural yoghurt
Method
Pre-heat oven to 200°C/180°C fan assisted / Gas mark 6. Mix the yeast with one tablespoon of warm water and stir in the sugar. Leave in a warm place for five minutes until the yeast is covered with froth.
Place flour in a separate bowl and mix in the salt and baking powder. Stir in oil, yoghurt and yeast mixture and knead to a smooth dough.
Place the dough in a large mixing bowl, cover with cling film and leave to stand until dough rises and doubles in size.
On a floured surface knead the dough again before splitting into 8 equal sized balls. With a rolling pin, roll each into a long oval shape about 5mm thick.
Place on a greased baking tray and put it into the hot oven. Leave to bake for approx. 10 minutes until they puff up and are soft and crumbly. Do not leave for too long or else they will dry out and turn crispy. Serve straight from the oven.
Just in case anyone is interested, personally i love naan bread (well any bread really)

Yum Naan bread. I love it! Last time I made them they went wrong and came out like ciabattas but we loved so much I did them wrong again the next time, too.
Well done on mastering the '3 point turn' droopydrawers.;) I've still got my L-plates on with that but getting there slowly.
I'm not a mullerlite eater myself but I can see that quite a lot of you love them and I noticed that Netto is selling them at 12 for £1.89 in their BOGOF offer. (2x 6pk). Might help those watching their pennies as well as the lbs.
Food today:
Weetabix
Salmon and cucumber sandwich.
Coq au vin with seamed veg
Had a swappy round of dinners yesterday as DH fancied a roast... I'd bought a big joint from Morrisons on their 1/2 price pork deal and sliced off some 'chops' for dinner and used the rest to make my HM sausages. Was yum.
I've realised tho that I need to slice the chops 1/2 the thickness as about an hour later I could 'feel' my stomach. Bahh, another case of my eyes bigger than my belly. :wall: Still, it's a learning curve, isn't it?

Morning all
Toniwotty...
We ended up doing a meal swap too, so the thai curry will hopefully make an appearance next weekend when hubby gets back off exercise.. didn't want to give him curry when he will only have porta-loos to use this week -just in case.....
Last night i made a veg n corned beef puff pastry slice thingy -a concotion i came up with last year when having loads of stuff lurking in the fridge after xmas..everyone i make is different..but hubby loves them...did it with roasties n beans...i had a small peice and rather enjoyed it....
Will let you know how the naan breads go... any excuse to make bread based productsi love making bread...
I will be using the last of the white loaf today to make stuffing as we are having that with chicken , roasties n veggies mmmmmm
Tomorrow im going to make myself some bread that will be part :- white flour, granary, spelt and throwing in -poppy, sesame, linseeds and i can't remember what the other ones are lurking in the cupboard ..hubby is away so its just for me..hubby is much happier with good old white bread...so im going to indulge myself... i have cut right back on bread..but now want to swap my white for something healthier n tastier-will slice and freeze then it should last me quite a while..... will let you know how it turns out..and will even weigh everything -just in case its a triumph :rotfl:
Cheerfulness
I don't like muller lights either..i find them artificially sweet if you know what i mean.....like they have compensated for the lack of fat by puttin more sweetener in... the yogs i get out here are stunning.... have an obsession with the cherry one...
I love pork.. and its the most common meat out here so its a good job  ... i do a mustard pork...the original was a WW recipe... but you basically seal your pork steaks in a dry non stick pan, add either cider or apple juice..i shove a couple of apples through the juicer, add a pork stock cube and a big spoon of wholegrain mustar and stir to dissolve, then reduce the heat and simmer until the pork is cooked.. i stick a lid on... the juice reduces right down and goes sticky..its lovely with crushed potatoes mmmm i have the proper measurements somewhere if you want them
It looks like most of us got on the dieting treadmill at a very early age doesn't it  .... I have at last got off and im not getting back on again ever... well it hasn't exactly helped done us any good has it :rotfl:
Yesterday was another revelation for me (apart from tootling round the golf course like a kid)as in the evening i actually realised that i had eaten :-- 2 bananas
- feta salad with 2 skinny slices of home made bread n butter
- a small bit of puff slice with roasties and a spoon of beans
- and a few black grapes, a pear and an orange
But i also enjoyed every last bit of food i ate -without the oohhh should i really have puff pastry, potatoes n beans all at the same time :T i had them and enjoyed them -just in reduced quantities
Rockie -glad they got OHs wages to you...its infuriating isn't it... some people must think we all have loads in the bank so if wages are messed up its no great shakes
Well done on all that exercise too :T
Mamof4...all that walking...you should be like a whippet :rotfl:
My sis and SILs are like you ...don't eat a lot, but pick instead.... if i didn't sit down to 3 meals a day i would freaki actually feel ill....when we visit hubbies bro and sil.. i actually go and get my own shopping... they will get up, eat nothing..perhaps shove a choc bar down mid morning and not EAT until about 7... a huge platefull and lots of stodge n cals... i can't do it.. yet when they stay with us they will quite happily eat 3 proper meals a day
.. think they just can't be bothered  so i do me n hubby toast etc when we get up -we are usually up 1st anyway.... then i will grab some cooked meats n salad at lunch and quite often i will do the evening meal so we don't end up with a takeaway.... we really don't enjoy them much... have to say sil is only about a 12/14 but is always run down and feeling grotty...
I think today is going to be -get lunch under way and then sit and trawl through more cook books n mags -looking for more inspiration..will post the recipe for the breadsticks tomorrow... they are really crunchy...and 45cals each but they are much more substantial than those "grissini" ones you can buy and they are 1bout 12" each... great with tzatziki, cream cheese etc...going to make loads more for when hubby gets back as he loved them:T
right i had better get off and get the stuffing done..
have a great day everyone...and good luck to anyone weighing in tomorrow-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Hi All,
We've just got back from a walk too. It's a bit cloudy and cooler today but still no need for cardigan or jumper. The pedometer is still playing up but we did at least 2,000 steps, maybe more. We walked up to see friends who weren't in but at least we got some exercise.
I made the tomato soup earlier but haven't tasted it yet It looks and smells good though. I have got sick of chicken liver pate but nearly finished the first bowlful. I decided to try freezing the second bowlful as I don't want any more for a bit. I've put the last bits of the first bowl out for the cat who visits us so hope she likes it.
We are enjoying the new combination oven and tried it out on bake your own bread today. We found ourselves standing looking in admiringly watching the rolls bake at one point and decided perhaps we need to get out more!!
B: Muesli etc. Pineapple juice
L: Home baked bread roll with chicken liver pate. Cappucino dessert.
Snack: BananaCauliflower cheese. Orange. (I am doing OH pork chops and saute potatoes along with the cauliflower but think I will just stick to the cauliflower cheese and really enjoy that).
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Had to smile at you watching your bread cook, Rose. :rotfl: My dad is fascinated by my breadmaker and watches through the little window.
Chloe - be thinking of you at your weigh in tomorrow.
Going to try that Pork recipe MRSMC :j I love pork dishes so excited about trying another one.
I'm a bit fussy with my yoghurts. I don't like anything too sweet and my favourite is hazelnut. Used to be muesli ones but I haven't found any of those for years.
Aldi do a lovely creamy one that I like but on the whole its natural with nuts added or I go for the occasional fromage frais.
Have to say I'm having a complete rehaul at the moment and trying all sorts out. Discovering all kinds of new flavours that I didn't even know about before.
DH cooking dinner so I'm going to park myself on the sofa and do some x-stitch now and watch a movie. Been out visiting and totally jiggered.
See you tomorrow everyone.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Evening all :hello:
Today's plans were all changed due to the police being at my neighbours all day  they smashed the door in at lunchtime and the street has been awash with police cars all day BUT NO-ONE KNOWS WHAT'S GOING ON    the gossips amazing! We can't decide if he's a drug baron, gun smuggler or if he's bumped his missus off.......the police are still there...
So I didn't get out for my long walk or do much cooking, I've cleaned the house (with particular attention to the front rooms)
I've had egg and tomatoes on toast for brekkie, a cheese salad sandwich for lunch, 2slices of cake with a cupparoasted veg with polenta and a bit of feta cheese and 2 yoghurts for tea!
OH's wages are not quite sorted, they gave him a 'sub' but say they paid it into the bank last wednesday, his bank say it could take until tuesday to arrive!!!!! So we have to check up with them tomorrow. I do hope it's there:rolleyes:
WI in the morning  I hope I've lost a bit,I'll be happy with a pound as I've not been very good the last few days
I had to smile at 'watching the bread cook' when I made buns with GD she lay on the kitchen floor watching them rise in the oven :rotfl:
I don't like muller lights, too sweet and I can never understand why they have to put beef gelatine in yoghurt - YUK
Off to watch a bit of tv now, think I'll leave my curtains open tonight
See you tomorow folks:A
