OH now has some money - phew
His boss went to the house with a 'sub' until next month. They say it has been sent to the bank but are checking up anyway........

I went for a swim at lunchtime to ease the stress, when I swim all I do is plough up and down and count lengths so it helped for a while but I have just caved a bit and had a tracker bar :o with my cuppa.
I think I might have to have a glass or 3 of wine tonight!

Cheerfullness - I take the Seven Seas glucosamine wirh CLO - I know they're not veggie but they suit me. Every type I've tried though have been HUGE and disgusting if they get stuck and start to dissolve in your throat  I always have a full glass of water to get them down.

    See you later folks :A
  • Hello everyone and well done to all the losers (Skint, Keiss, Saversarn, Mrs M, and anyone I have forgotten).

Yesterday was an okay day food wise but could have been better. Breakfast and lunch were great but for tea I tried a hm vegetable bake and although it tasted OKAYish the sauce "split" and it looked totally rank - also I boiled the veg before putting it in the sauce and the brocolli totally disintegrated when it went in the sauce and then the oven. Anyway I ate it with some HM potato wedges but didn't really enjoy it and I think that set me off looking for something nice all evening. I resisted until about 10.30 when DD1 announced that she was going out and a row ensued. When she had gone out I ate two pieces of wholemeal bread and a little bit of red leicester - not bad but not great either. I went to bed feeling like I had averted a binge - JUST.

    Anyway today I've had

    Breakfast Flora pro-active yoghurt
Lunch - two slices of wholemeal bread (thin) with low fat spread and a slice of ham and a cup of vegetable soup, followed by a banana.
Dinner - haven't decided yet - have made corned beef hash for kids but I think I will have tuna concoction - this is something I have made for years and it is lovely when I'm on a diet - it is just a tin of tuna mixed up with chopped cucumber, tomato, spring onion, a hard boiled egg, shredded lettuce, sweetcorn - all bound together with dressing made with Hellmann's extra light mayo, a bit of light salad cream and lemon juice plus lots of salt and black pepper. It sounds vile but tastes lovely with a jacket potato or crispbreads.

On the Quorn issue - I don't like the mince at all (how anyone can say it is just like meat I don't know) but the sausages are okay at a push and the beef and chicken style pieces are okay in curry.

DD1 is still driving me nuts - yesterday the AS January module results came out and she got an A in maths, B in Critical Thinking, C in Biology and an E in Chemistry - I was sooooo angry with her because she has a conditional offer from Liverpool to do medicine and needs 2 A's and a B, which she can get easily IF she does some work but at the moment she isn't even going to school every day. She has been out until the early hours every night this week. Anyway enough of that! I am just sitting at the computer (obviously!) and wondering whether or not to order an ipod off Amazon to use when I go for my walks on the beach. I think it might help to pass the time but am not sure I can justify the expense. They have ipod shuffles for £31 and nano's for £89. Has anyone got one and a)do you use it? and b) which would you recommend? I was also thinking of putting the Paul McKenna CD onto it.

I noticed someone mentioned Mullerlight yoghurts - I haven't really tried them - are they nice? and if so what flavours? I usually buy the Weight Watchers dessert style yoghurts and they are okay, but I'm not really a yoghurt lover IYKWIM. I do like some "afters" when I've had my meal though and can never think of what to have except fruit - any ideas?

Hope you are all having a great day!

recovering spendaholic - I mentioned mullerlites, they are 100 calories a pot and personally I think they are quite a large serving. They are also zero fat. I am a very fussy yoghurt eater, they are often a bit sour for me, but I really really love these. They are very thick and creamy and taste like a really naughty fat laden treat! I have been eating strawberry but tried vanilla today for the first time - mmmmmmmm think I'll be buying more of them! They also do cherry, banana and custard, fudge, peach and another fruit which I think is mango.

ps. if you live near a branch of morrissons mullerlites are currently 10 for £2 (normally 48p each).

pebbles - definately agree with what you say about slimming world, I think they are fab, have a really healthy attitude towards weight loss. I haven't joined a club (too shy!) but have got loads of their magazines and regularly pinch menus from their website. I have tried loads of diets in the past and always been starving hungry, I just love the idea of having nice big satisfying plates of food, but the key is that its GOOD food! Have been dieting for a month now and can honestly say there have been few occassions when i've been hungry.

  • Thanks Chloebelle - I do have a Morrison's not too far away and 10 for £2 is certainly very cheap! Mind you I think Morrisons is the cheapest of all the supermarkets.

Jane... :naughty: don't walk with Paul McKenna on an ipod, he sends me to sleep. I think shuffle's ar £38 in argos atm- I'm thinking of getting one to download podcasts for walking, but then I'd miss all those wonderful conversations I have with myself:confused:

I was thinking of putting Paul McKenna on for listening to in the armchair at home - I don't have a personal CD player and if I had it on the main CD player all the background noise of the house (kids and dog) would intrude too much. Thanks for reminding me though! The shuffles are £32 with free p&p on Amazon at the moment.

  • Hello all! Haven't had much time to post during the week but I am still here and reading and you're keeping me inspired!:T

I'll write more over the weekend. Just wanted to add that I'm not the biggest yoghurt fan in the world either, unless of course it's of the thick and creamy variety:D , but do like the mullerlights, particularly the cherry ones. My latest find though is Aldi's bio yoghurt with wholegrains and it is yummy! Loads in a single pot so it really fills you up, and only around 150 cals too (35p by the way).

Not too horrific a day yesterday.. today I don't know..

    ham sarnie for breakfast
    Spaggy bol for dinner
Chinese for tea.. prawn cocktail and then pork bean sprouts and half a tray of egg fried rice .. ok.. that's horrific..

My shoulder is killing me, my hips and knees hurt too.. I have headache and I am exhausted.. just off collecting with my mother

Today I've had.. cake for breakfast, just plain madeira cake... pasta n sauce for lunch.. dinnner tonight is likely to be more spaggy bol with takeaway chips as I'm going out collecting and won't be back until 9ish.. hubby can feed the chimps! .. Then he will want to go to the pub.. I want to go to bed.. but will go with him and no doubt end up with chips on the way home..

I've had 4 paracetamol and 6 ibuprofen too..

    Evening folks:hello:

Pigpen - hope you feel better soon, I've got a headache but know mine is stress:mad: and I'll be ok after a glass of wine and a doze in the chair :D

I've got the PMK cd, I listen to it if I can't sleep - it usually does the trick!

Yoghurts - I'm fussy, I like them thick and creamy and have discovered the 'Shape lasting satisfaction', they are GORGEOUS and really filling!

I had my veggie sausage, jacket spud, asparagus and mushroom for tea - very tasty folowed by cheesecake  Well it is his birthday and I couldn't let him eat alone...:p I'm stuffed so hopefully won't want anything else tonight.

    See you tomorrow girls :A

here's a question for you - can i freeze HM smoothies? I really like the idea of smoothie for b/fast but I don't wanna drag out the maker everyday and plus I don't want to have to keep buying fruit etc every day or couple.

    Thanks.
