I've had sweet potato and lentil burgers with new potatoes, brocolli and tomato sauce
They sound yummy can you post the recipe please?

Ive had a bad day food wise. Im on half term hol this week and once out of my little routine it all goes to pot!! Been to garden centre with parents and my 3DS and the coffee and cake was just shouting to be eaten and then my mum cooked tea for us all (inc hubby who came after work) and it would have been rude not to eat it all. ;)

Im planning on cooking up a storm 2 morrow whilst hubby takes DS1 and DS2 to football - lots of soups for when back at work next week. My Mil is giving me her bread machine on Sunday when we see her so soup and HM rolls it is for lunch. Ill be able to get back on track when i get back to work but its WI day for me on Mon and i think i will have put on this time:sad:

I think you best put me down for the easter weight loss!!

  • Hi everyone,

mhe - here's the link to those burgers. http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/1539/low+gi+lentil+patties+with+roast+tomato+sauce

I can't remember who posted it originally but I'm sure they'll be along soon. It's a brilliant site they found, you'll love it. ;)

Wow Chloe, can't believe your restraint that you still have Roses in the house. A long distant memory in our house.

I don't know what crisprolls are... or muesli crispbreads. Am I missing out on something here? Are these regular supermarket items or health shops jobbies?

    Well, I'm really pleased this morning. :j 5 1/4lbs lost today. :j :j
After a tiny loss last week I was really shocked. The silly thing is looking back at my food diary there wasn't that much difference. I did slice the bread a tad thinner but thats about all.

Anyways, it means that I've lost that pesky 3/4 lb to qualify for my t-shirts reward from DS1 so can legitimately wear them now. ;) AND I've 4 1/2 lbs rollover towards my next reward of my hair cut. :j

As we have 2 weeks left of Frogga's Feb challenge, I think I'll set myself the goal of losing that extra 2 1/2 lbs so that I'll have lost 2 stone. That's not too much pressure then.

Then I'll be all set for the eggstravaganza challenge. :T

    Food today:

    Weetabix
Ham omelette salad with apple coleslaw & fruit & nuts
Boiled egg and seedy bread fingers

Snacks/treats - Eton mess with crushed maltesers :o and mandarins & grapes.

Been promising the kids a treaty dessert for ages so todays the day. :D

    Have a good weekend everyone.

Morning all,I just have a couple of quick questions if possible!

Has anyone ever tried to stop smoking, and diet at the same time? I'm dieting, and trying to cut down on the fags, but am wondering if it's the best time to try to quit!
And! While dieting, can you eat too little?

At the mo, for example i'm eating, a bowl of cereal for breakfast
1 or 2 pitta bread with cheeses/toms and houmous or mayo
then finally my dinner at abt 4.30(try to be a balanced dinner)

A friend said if you eat to little, the weight won't come off, surely this is not right?

aaron - I don't have any experience of trying to lose weight while stopping smoking but I do know that when I've been dieting too strictly in the past that it can seriously slow down the speed that you lose weight.
The doctor said that my body was trying to survive at starvation levels and so slows down to compensate. I think others may have more info than me but will agree your friend is sort of right.
Your meal plan seems quite sensible, tho, so you should be fine. ;)

Welcome to the thread, too. :D

    :D Morning all :D

    Woo hoooo :T cheerfulness:T -what a loss :j ...
going to rummage through that link in a moment..thankyou :D
The Krisproll jobbies are in most supermarkets.. they are in quite a big bag...... You know those tiny petit pan cobs you can get? well they are that size and look just like them -but they are a crispbread..just like really overcooked cobs really -im an addict..but out here im only paying 55c for a bag that lasts all week ;) plus i can get different ones... they are sooo much nicer than crispbreads,

aaroncaz.. can't help with the smoking bit im affraid.. but i do think that not eating enough can be a problem...
The "experts" do reckon that if you don't eat enough your body goes into "starvation" mode -your body basically holds onto the fat you have as it doesn't know when it is going to get fed again...so it saves it..
I have noticed that on weeks where i have eaten less, my loss is smaller.. and my mum has been eating very little for years... and still struggled with her weight (and she doesn't eat junk)..but now she has stopped WWing and joined in doing it the OS way -she is eating much more and losing weight:T .
even if you just shoved a piece of fruit into your plan -1 mid morning and 1 mid afternoon it would probably help... eating at regular intervals is said to keep your metabolic rate going, thus burning quicker ;)

I also find that not eating much variety can hamper things too... i think your body gets used to the same old things and knows whats coming (especially in my mums case)....
I have to say i eat quite a lot :rotfl: ...

Chloebelle... im still trawling through all my recipes..and will post any that i think might be of use to someone (any excuse to look through recipes:p )

    Well meals for me today:-
    • brekkie - a yogurt and an apple
    • lunch - HM quiches with salad
    • dinner - chicken, pepper n onion tortillas with sour cream, last of the Hm coleslaw and salad
    • snackies -yogurts n fruit...
I have a loaf of bread under way -which usually means a snaffled slice or 2 with cream cheese for supper ;) ..
Im going to get wrapped up as its frosty here -and think i will have a wander to the Naffi to see if they have a magazine i fancy (pretty unlikely knowing the NAFFI)

well i hope we all have a great day.... keep up the good work folks :D

ohh and hello to anyone not mentioned :D

oohh look im repeating what cheerfulness said lol..must type faster :rotfl:

Aaroncaz...tried all my life to battle the weight and for a lot of years to win over the weed....haven't smoked for six years and have no idea what tipped the balance as it was suddenly just so easy to stop...had read a motivational book ( Alan Carr) four times and had decided that it wouldn't work, then circumstances made it difficult to smoke during the day and I just stopped so maybe you could consider something like that.

You certainly need to up your consumption of fruit and raw veg...celery or carrot sticks, apples anything that is fibrous...when I do this and stay away from the rubbish I am fine.

    Good luck

    Morning everyone

Thanks cheerfulness for the burgers - going to have a go at them.
Just made a vat of soup heres the recipe if anyone wants to try it - its yum and 0 WW points

    HOT RED PEPPER SOUP

    6 red peppers
    2 med onions
    1 tbsp fennel seeds (optional)
    3 garlic cloves
1 red chilli or squirt of chilli puree
    1 can toms
    2 pints of veg stock
    2 tbsp of wor. sauce
    2 tsp tabasco

fry onions and pepper in a little oil and water till soft. Add rest of stuff bring to boil and simmer for 10 mins - blend - its done.
I often omit the frying stage anad just boil it all up together. I always leave the skins on the peppers and if you dont like spicy just leave the chilli garlic and tabasco out.
I just added a dollop of very low fat phili to mine - thanks MRSM - now not point free but has made it look like cream of red pepper. I think a 1/3 of cheese tub was 2.5 points so 1 dollop in a vat cant be that many per portion can it!!
