Ended up phoning the surgery, & of course the [STRIKE]very nice[/STRIKE] person on the other end obviously thought I was asking for the moon.....her reaction to my polite enquiries re:weight-loss monitoring, was "Oh No....we don't do that here! There's plenty of other people out there you can go to" So yeah...the NHS is VERY CONCERNED WITH OBESITY ISSUES!!!!!!! A nurse once agreed that if I were anorexic or an alkie, they'd be tripping over themselves to help.....

My contribution to valentines day was to make :heart2: shaped burgers for the offspring:D
I whacked garlic, egg, porridge oats [cuz I didn't have nuff to make breadcrumbs:D ], value beef mince & some almost manky stir fry veg I found in the freezer into the food processor. The offspring had the obligatory seeded bus with theirs, & I did some HM potato wedges with black pepper.

Out of the £1:65 MrT mince & 2 standard packs of stir fry vegs, there was enough mix to make:-
2 good sized burgulars for four adults,
2 healthy sized helpings & a bit left for freezing for Pup
3pt casserole dish almost filled to the top & frozen raw, to make a meatloaf jobbie sometime soon
decent helping of veggies for the iggy!

As everything was--or will be--baked in the oven, I'm saying it's an advantage to our healthier way of eating.

  • Morning all,

Bigmumma - disappointed to hear about lack of interest your surgery has towards weight loss. Doctors are happy to tell you off for being overweight but unwilling when you ask for help! Stick with this thread, bound to be more helpful :D

Mrs M - thanks for recipe offer, am happy to try any simple recipes people share.

Have been for a 30min walk but wasn't as brisk as I would have liked as I have a huge blister on my foot  . Checked my trainers (which I haven't worn for about a decade) and they are 2 sizes too small :rotfl: . Am gonna buy a very cheap pair this afternoon.

    Food today is as follows:

    B. nothing :naughty:

    L. - Mum has offered to take us out for lunch  . I usually have chicken pitta, chips and garlic bread at the place we are going. Am going to try to stick to chicken pitta plus healthy side like spicy rice or salad :A

    D. - big lunch so a slice of spinach tart and fruit.

Have a good afternoon all x

I did post earlier this morning but then I lost it  wish I'd have listened to Newlywed when she told me the copy/paste thingy

Piggy you really are hopeless :D

bigmumma you don't need anyone else's help , we're all here for you :T do it with us and stuff the surgery :D

Thought I'd post a reciepe of mine as MrsM is always showing off with hers. It is a secret and quite complicated so you need to pay attention to the detail and don't pass it on to anyone or then it wont be secret anymore ;)

    Banana Sandwich

You will need : 2 slices of seedy bread, vegetable spread, a banana, handful of Albran

Carefully spread the bread and place the banana slices on top. Add a sprinkle of albran, then the tricky bit, put the other slice of bread on the top.

You can then cut the sandwich in half or even triangles if you are a particulally skillful chef like me.

Now don't say I dont share my knowledge with you :D

    Be good everyone :D

    Hello ladies :hello:

:j :j I lost a pound :j :j Really pleased as I expected to stay the same due to last Sundays mammoth pigout!

Cheerfulness - Well done - fantastic loss :T :T :T and thanks for posting that link, it was me who posted it originally, I've made it loads of times, I never put the breadcrumbs in though.

MrsM - I had a look on the Pogen website for the ingredients in Krisprolls and the British ones have 'hydrogenated vegetable oil' listed  ...you're right about them being tastier than crispbreads but I'm not going to get any!!

Frogga - that recipe sounds wonderful!!!! I can't wait to try it  I love banana butties :D but yours has the WOW factor for sure ;)

Today I've had scrambled eggs, mushrooms and toast for brekkie, HM leek and potato soup with a HM multiseed roll and a banana for lunch.
Grankids are staying tonight _party_ so I'm having veggie sausage, last night's leftover pots fried up in Frylight and beans while OH and the kids get sausage, spicy wedges and beans with yoghurts for pud. I might have a bag of crisps laterwhile we watch GD's 'Barbie' dvd..............

We're taking them swimming in the morning  so if I'm not around tomorrow it's because I've collapsed with exhaustion ;)

    Have fun ladies :A

    Hi everyone,

Havent posted here for a couple of days, ive been em hiding, cos I fell off the wagon:o . Feel so cross, and disappointed in myself infact, so much so, that I actually feel like going to make myself sick. I seriously need to have a good talking to. I couldnt even say it was food food, it was junk I was eating.

Anyway, I was wondering if any of you could recommend the Paul McKenna "I can make you think" book & CD. I was thinking of buying it from Amazon. Does anyone think it is good?

Its ok to fall off the wagon don't beat your self up over it, tomorrow is another day. Don't you dare go an make your self sick (its not much fun trust me) and honestly it does you no favors in the end (I can give you a few good reasons why for that too).

Just brush your self down carry on start again tomorrow, if you have the need to snack on junk food, think to your self do I really need to eat this? I'm sure it would be nice but soon as eating i'll regrete it! If you feel the need to binge get a big glass of water imagine you've ate it or you going to and glup it all down, even if you just ate half of that bit of food you want to eat, you haven't ate it all.

But please don't beat your self up over and and please for me dont make your self sick......

    Hi Jackie,

Know exactly how you feel as we've all been there and done that :o Please don't make yourself sick though. As someone who used to make themselves sick daily, I really wouldn't advise starting that trick.

It can be very adictive and then you'll have ALL sorts of other problems.

I think it is important to remember that you've just eaten too much. That's all matey, you've just eaten too much. No one died, you didn't shoot anyone, you didn't commit a crime Jackie, you just ate too much. LOADS of peole do it all the time, get over it and move on. There are SO MANY worse things we could do than make pigs of ourselves occationally.

Paul MacKenna has been advocated by quite a few guys on here although I never listened to him so I can't say. I think he has alot of Common Sense and that can't be bad ;)

Even if you fall off the wagon just keep posting. It's only because I kept on coming on here that I got the will to try again . Eventually they nag you so much that you can't help but listen :D
