superspam Thanks that will be great to hear how the recipes go, they look fabulous! The comping challenge is linked to the Competitions Time forum http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=72
where everyone posts their wins regularly and this year, the challenge is to win £2008 worth of things. Its amazing how much people do actually win, I won a holiday to New York last year, others have won trips to India, cars, lots of money, its a great way to pass the time and stop me thinking about food :rotfl: I don't enter as many as some do, i only try to win things I actually want, others enter to win things they can sell on if they don't want them.
The link for the 2008 for 2008 challenge is here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=627553
Good luck!

L: Falafel in wholemeal pitta with HM salsaQuorn sausage, sweet potato mash, cabbage, carrots, broccoli and peas

Afternoon all
Just thought I'd pop by and say CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE -some cracking losses going on :T :j
what a wonderful bunch we are
Made the thai beef curry for dinner... beef, onions, asparagus, baby corn -and a tiny tin of coconut milk -bumped up the veggies and i will give hubby more of the meat and i will have more of the veggies... Its the 1st one I have made..and it is lovely..well i have to taste whilst im creating don't I
Going to do it with rice and frozen peas... i will only have a couple of tbs of rice as im not overly bothered with it.. but i am making naan bread..ok not thai but hey hoand again it makes 4 so i will make 1 smaller for myself
right will tootle off...wish the rain would bog off and let me get out there - I was running round like a loon covering some of the tubs with fleece earlier to reduce the amount of rain getting in.... got soaked and the locals must think im a fruit loop
keep up the great work everyone :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Taplady - Thanks for the comment on the 'age' thread, I might be mature in years but I don't act it and I'm told I certainly don't look it;)
MrsM - Lovely news about the rings:D I just had the quinoa and bean salad for lunch NOM NOM indeed :T :T
I've had a good day so far, loads of walking this morning, I've been to IKEA  for material for blinds in the spare room then down to JS's for a couple of bits then back into the town centre for odds and s*ds.
I've got the oven full of roasting veggies, carrots and parsnips to make pate, loads of butternut and onions as I got a HUGE one whoopsied at JS's - I think it will feed us for a week  it's so big!
Planning to make some SW tortilla chips when the veggies are out for nibbles this evening.
Eggs, mushrooms and toast for brekkie, quinoa and bean salad with a huge green salad for lunch, I have a oowl of fruit salad to eat in a bit and I'm not sure what we're having for tea yet but I do have my cooking head on today......... so will think of something tasty! Maybe butternut rissoto......
See you later folks :A

Hi All,
Well done on the weight losses Cheerfulness, Floyd and Saver Sarn.
Isn't it cold again? I was frozen at the hog roast I went to yesterday even though I was wearing boots, coat and a scarf. I only stayed for about an hour and a half and then left, before eating anything. At least it saved a few calories although I came home and had a bowl of stewed rhubarb and Greek yoghurt (which is my current obsession).
I don't seem to have done much apart from a quick trip to the fruit and veg shop today and can't believe it's already after half past two. I shall have to go out for a brisk walk shortly to make sure I get at least some exercise as we needed the car for the shopping trip.
B: Fruit and fibre mixed with muesli, raisins and skimmed milk. Cranberry and raspberry juice.
L: Seedy wrap with tiny piece of chicken, HM coleslaw, tomatoes and cucumber. Stewed rhubarb with Greek yoghurt.Egg and SW chips, mushrooms. Strawberries.
Snack: Banana. 1 square of new KitKat sensations bar. OH bought me a bar to try as he was raving about it. I was really good though and had one square and insisted he ate the rest (plus the bar he'd bought himself!).
Have a good weekend everyone.

Congratulations to all the losers...spectacular loss Cheerfulness!
Not doing well today have had four slices of bread and butter to eat so far and a hobnob..just the thing if I have a problem with wheat, don't you think?
Lamb chops and stirfry for dinner with mashed potatoes...I never peel potatoes as I eat skin as well but OH obviously feels the need as he has peeled the spuds.
Cool and overcast here, but no rain so still watering which is never as effective as rain, everything is doing well so far.
Have a good day all

Hi wonderful slimming people!
It is good to be back and easy to fall into my nice healthy eating routine again, so I am feeling positive. Shame about being followed by the rain thought, I really need some sunshine to get the best out of my healthy regime, and when it rains I feel a bit down and a bit more inclined to eat yucky stuff.
Well done Cheerfulness, Floyd and Saversarn on your losses!
Thank you for your welcome message Saversarn, and hi to all other people who post here.
I got to do this quickly as I am being dragged to the gym by my absolutely fabulous friend (who is 56 and looks 30!!! I am envious, in the best possible way of course!).
So here is my day so far, with plan for the immediate future too:
Breakfast: omelette with onion and mushrooms (frylight), 2 ryvitas, 1small glass grapefruit juice
Snack: 1 biscuit (oppppsss, only a small one but chockablock full of butter....)
Lunch: wholemeal pasta with 65 g smoked salmon, broccoli & vlf fromage frais, strawberries, low fat fruit yogurt
Snack (planned): 1 apple, 1 banana
Dinner (planned): mixed veg, rice & chick pea soup with marigold and 1 oz parmesan, grapes, 1 full fat fruit yogurt (it fills me more for the evening than a low fat and I don't feel like stuffing my face while watching tv or sitting at the computer).
I have invented the lunch recipe in case anyone is interested, very simple and satisfactory, and free for SW followers (on green):
Cook pasta, when it is half cooked add a few sprouting broccoli, drain. Chop smoked salmon - appx. 60 g per person - (use as healthy extra. mix everything in with a couple of spoonfuls of very low fat fromage frais, sprinkle with grated pepper. It was delicious! My DH who is not on a diet loved it too, he said you won't know it is a diet dish.
Ciao all, have a nice Saturday, catch up tomorrow
Caterina
PS: WOW I am on the top of the page! Never happened before! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
