Thanks for all the coleslaw tips.

Can't believe I've never attempted to make it before, just one of those things that has passed me by. Might be off to tescos later for whoopsies, so hopefully there'll be coleslaw ingredients going cheap.

It's the dressing that's key. Hate hate hate low fat mayo (always tastes a bit sharp and vinegary) but obviously don't want to scupper my diet. So will try mixing proper mayo with greek yoghurt then. If I buy honey I can use the rest of the greek yoghurt for brekkie in the mornings.

Tattycath - I have reduced meal portions as well, we can eat the leftovers the next day or freeze them for later so hope to save some pennies also. One of my problems has been making enough for 4 of us and now the kids have left home I still seem to make the same amount!:o

Can anyone help me with my afternoon choc craving? always between 2 - 3 pm I need chocolate!:D
I used to get that... then started having a cadburys option drink, it worked well but now I have decided to give up sweeteners I've stopped, but have a small choc biscuit except when it's that TOTM then it's :EasterBun

I used to use the diet chocolate drinks a lot. Now I don't want the sweeteners I have some skim milk, normal chocolate powder, but just half a cup. I only ever have this at bedtime and just want 'something' for a bedtime drink.

  • Oh blimey – just eaten school lunch – roast chicken, roast pots, veg, gravy and stuffing followed by mixed fruit crumble and custard:eek: . Need to sleep now zzzzzzzzzzzzz.
    But back to business:
JoJoB – welcome and congratulations – a bebe how luvverly. Sadly I am not blessed with one of these but I do have lots of nephews and nieces – three of whom are still wee and gorgeous.:D
Superspam – sympathies with the back and sorry you have put on. Keep going, I remember when I used to do WW that we were told that we don’t lose weight in 7 day cycles so you need to carry on to get a clearer picture of how you are doing IYSWIM. ;)
Catz – welcome. Love your exercise equipment, does it come in pink!:rotfl:
Mrs Mac – does your hubby actually work or is he a serial sports junky:D
Am debating going for a swim after work tonight (any more swimming and I will look like a relative of Froggas).;) I have lots to do at home including mowing the grass and hoovering (the carpet not the garden!) but I feel a swim may counterbalance the crumble.
Nix – you go careful love on that new fangled piece of equipment of yours. We don’t want you coming over all Bridget Jones on us and falling over when you get off it.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Well back to work I go – am thinking I might have to make coleslaw this weekend as well – yum.
    Back later

    Afternoon all

Frogga... i told you that in confidence  getting me in trouble :p ..i can manage that on my own :D

Well.. i have done all that i can in the garden for now... i need to wait for hubby to fetch me 10 bucket jobbies for the remains of my tom n pepper plants... they were stacked too high on the shelf in the shop this morning and i couldn't have carried em all anyway  ... THEN i should be able to finish off potting up..HONEST :o ..... have just set loads more salad leaves.. €1.69 -about £1.25 for an iceberg where i went this morning  luckily i have a whole one..and will go to aldi in the morning and get a couple more to last to monday...and more fruit :shhh: ... thougth i would set loads of leaves as its better to have too many than not enough isn't it now:D

KentishMaid ..hubby is a terror.. he decided a few weeks back that it was his mission NOT to work a full 5 day week this year  ..now it seems his mission should actually be to work 1 DAY a week :rotfl:but he is paid 7 days a week regardless..I have told him to make the most of it as when he is in Civvi street he is in for a shocker  ... I guess some of the golf, the cricket and the hockey are actually for the army.... can't wait to see the state of him by sunday he will be in a heap :rotfl:

Jacki_W ..im now in a minority as i no longer like choccy :j ..even the thoughts or smell of it makes me feel squiffy -since August i had a couple of bits at xmas..and then no more since and not missing it one bit:T .... i spotted a recipe that would have been just my thing once...cranberry n choc brownies... but now i think they look nice but know i wouldn't enjoy them... shall post the recipe for those choccy monsters still out there ;) I haven't made any so can't vouch for them but they look dense and moist -you know the ones that stick to the top of your mouth n teeth :rotfl:

    CRANBERRY N CHOC BROWNIES
    serves 12
    cals 140
    fat 5.5g
    sat fat 1.9g
    pre-heat oven 180c/350f/gas4
    • 50g plain choc
    • 1/2tsp vanilla extract
    • 4tbs cranberry sauce -at last something to do with that jar lurking from xmas ;)
    • 100g low fat spread
    • 150g caster sugar
    • 2 eggs
    • 40g flour -doesn't specify which  so id assume SR
    • pinch salt
    1. melt butter and spread in a heavy bottomed pan over a low heat -stirring frequently until melted and smooth -remove from heat
    2. beat the sugar, eggs and cranberry sauce
    3. mix in the choc mixture, vanilla, flour and salt
    4. place in a 21cm square cake pan (i would line the bottom)and bake 15-20 mins -if you insert a tooth pick it should come out wet
I reckon i would be tempted to make them in bun or muffin papers..less chance of em sticking and perfect portion control ;)

well i had some ham, tomatoes, kraut salat and the tiny crust left over from the seedy bread -the rest is in the freezer....and then i had some strawberries mmmmm and im still stuffed..
chicken salad for dinner :T although if i stay like this i will just go for fruit n yogurts
right had better get of again..think im going to go and have a cold soak
have a good one everyone :D
