Thanks all! I had Iris Mary 3 weeks ago and she was 6lb 10oz. She is lovely but relentlessly demanding lol. Been getting out for long walks in the last week to start getting my fitness back a little bit but not pushing things too much. Certainly won't be going mad on the diet front - just need to cut out those things that neither me or the baby need.

Now the weather is finer it is easier to get out instead of lounging in front of the telly with endless cups of tea and cake, so that will help. My comfort eating is always a bit better in the summer too so feeling positive at the moment. Just have to combat the tiredness which can be a downfall with the munchies! Need to mealplan again and get organised. Easier said than done at the moment!

Will be nice to have a weekly weigh-in and support from you nice folk. :T

    Hi.

Quick post as I have been busy today.
My friend has stayed away again? I dont think I have done anything to make her cross (as she askes to come down mine nearly every day:rolleyes:) TBH I think I was something to do with the row her and her hubby had the other night.

Me and hubby have made up but I am still cross (but this is still from christmas too)

    B - 2 Toasts and 2 cuppas

    Hi All,

Well done the losers and welcome to the newbies.

Well, after the dithering yesterday about how to spend my afternoon I decided to go on the bike ride so did around 7 miles. In the evening my friend and I had our longest walk yet with the dog and I was out for 3 and 1/4 hours and did around 9-10 miles. Surely that must have some effect on this week's weigh in!!

We went out for another walk this afternoon but not as far as we were both feeling tired (probably after yesterday!). Having said that I still was out over 2 hours and I walked to the bank and shops earlier as well so should have easily done around 18,000 steps today.

DS called round after I got back from work. We had a nice Mother and Son time sitting chatting, and (of course) I made him something to eat. His fiancee is away in London so it was lovely to have him to myself.

OH is due home shortly and so far hasn't anything else workwise booked this week so we should have a few days together now. We should be going out for lunch with friends tomorrow so no cooking which will be good.

B: Fruit and fibre with skimmed milk and raisins. Fruit juice.
L: Small white roll with smoked salmon and red pepper pate. Cherry tomatoes, cucumber and beetroot salad. Spoonful of Greek yoghurt with rasberries in blackcurrant and apple juice stirred in (yummy).
D: Grilled fish, peas, cauliflower cheese. Banana and maybe a spoonful of the rice pudding I have made for OH.
    Snack: Orange

Had a tricky couple of days, one reason and another not got near the pooter. Food has been a bit up the creek.

Yesterday was work plus wemt to get ds form school and then went to a sewing club in the evening. Worn out! Food wasn't too bad, but a bit erratic. I didn't get my porridge, it put me out all day, felt hungry most of the morning.

Today I was in work 2 lessons, but missed the 2nd one as I had appt to see nurse practitioner re dbl vision in one eye. She rang the hospital and I was there half an hour later! Left the car at home as I didn't know if would be allowed to drive afterwards. I was alarmed that she had me there so quickly. In fact I found it quite worrying. I have to go back in 4 weeks for their optician to look with the eyes dilated. Nurse Practitioner took my BP, I suspected it was low at the moment...but not as low as she measured....you'll be jealous...I have the blood pressure of a young fit woman...80/58

Food? Had oats soaked in milk for breakfast, except they weren't in for very long. I've read that some peeps have their soaked oats, but not taken any notice. I don't always feel like porridge for breakfast when it's warm. Just remembered that I had porridge for lunch yesterday, cos I was so hungry when I got back midday!

Been on hummus today for lunch with a load of salad and some spicy rice from last night.

Dinner was nutburger, a few wedges and didn't have the breadbun...... I had some thinly cut bread and marmalade afterwards.

Was supposed to be having a couple of the girls round for a cuppa tonight, but they have cried off, one has an urgent guides meeting! I can cope with a nice quiet night in this evening I think.... see if Gok wan is on.

Hope that you are alll doing OK, will try and catch up with the thread later. Must go and so some sewing for now and tidy the kitchen.

    Evening ladies n gents

First things first Rosewood... i was reading a mag the other day and someone was asking for advice for losing wight with an underactive thyroid... and i though of you :D
I will type the reply in full in case its of any help...It was mainly the 3rd bit about veggies that i thought might be something the average person wouldn't know:confused:
    • your diet should include fresh veg, wholegrains and low fat dairy products, good quality lean meat and fish, and liberal amounts of garlic, onions and olive oil. I also recommend eating seaweed as the iodine in it can help prevent goitres (abnormally large thyroid glands)
    • Avoid refined sugar and processed foods, plus wheat gluten, which has been shown to interfere with the action of the thyroid hormone
    • Goitrogens are foods that reduce the uptake of iodine by the thyroid and so should be eaten in moderation: Cabbage, cauli, sprouts, soya, maize and many types of nut
    • it is essential to have a varied diet to obtain a wide spectrum of nutrients, and make sure moderate exercise forms are part of your lifestyle changes too!
Hope thats of some help :D

Ok.. Hello newbies and well done any losers I have missed so far :D

Stuck to my eating well today..
had my juice for brekkie, lunch was a bit of home cooked ham and kraut salat and dinner was jacket with salad and roast chicken.. oh and i had some fruit earlier.. oh and i made hubby a full batch of twinks hobnobs to take with him tomorrow..and I did have 1..but that was all -which i think deserves a :A :rotfl: ..actually i didn't want anymore :T

Have got loads more done outside today.... we picked up another 8X40 litre bags of compost... and 4 shrub/canes... red/white and black currant and a raspberry :T ...oooh and the pak choi i set sat or sun is through :j , more beans have gone out and the extra peas are of out tomorrow :D

I have topped up the salad n fruit ....strawberries, grapes, oranges to add to my collection mmmmmmm Im really enjoying al this extra fruit

Hubby is away tomorrow playing hockey and won't be back until thursday evening so i have no meals to sort out as such..i will grab fruit..oh and i have some chicken left from today..with a bit of salad..thats me sorted ;)

Rockie..i can give you the ingredients for that salad..but you will have to make up your own quantities :D ...
i soaked then cooked...aduki, soya, kidney, pinto, mung and i think there was -haricot ...cooled them down
cooked some quinoa and rinsed and cooled, mixed it together then added chopped onion, loads of fresh mint, some balsamic syrup, seasoning and lemon juice.. i was quite surprised just how much i enjoyed it  ..but it does need to be really chilled and its nice with a bit of broken feta mmmm

right i will get off and catch up on whats happening.. have a great evening everyone and keep up the good work :D

I put on 5.5 stone with 2 of mine :eek::eek: I stopped getting on the scales after I hit 14 stone!! With DD1 I started off at 7st 10 (my leg weighs more than that now!) and ended up over 13 stone!!

After DD3 I kept 3 stone of the 5.5.. which is the 3 I am reluctantly trying to shift!
