Morning folks :hello:
Gosh I'm busy today!!
Made falafel for tea last night with a huge salad and I have the lefovers for lunch today. I had boiled eggs for brekkie with wholemeal dippers and SW quich for tea with wedges and salad.
Frogga - your menu sounds scrummy:D really healthy too(you could add a few slugs......oh! sorry you're a vegan frog:D )
Slugs    slimy s*ds have nearly destroyed my beautiful hosta and taken lumps from my broad beans   I cover everything with pellets then salt the ones that slip through!! Cruel I know but they eat MY plants!!!
I bought some gell stuff yesterday to squirt on the walls and hopefully keep them off the hosta - £5:eek: it had better work!
See you later folks :A

Morning everyone, what a glorious day - shame I am sat here at w**k instead of playing out in it
Anyway weigh in this morning and I have STS. However I'm not that bothered as I am waiting for my monthly mate to arrive and knew I was going to struggle this week - I can barely squeeze me puppies in their kennel if you know what I meanand as always they are really sore so I knew it would be a long shot even hitting a pound. I retain water like mad so staying the same, down to the ounce!, was a bonus really. However this means I have to lose TWO next week LOL and of course I can do that
Very excited as my cross trainer is due to end on Ebay this evening *rubbing her hands together evilly* it WILL be mine, oh yes, it will be mine - so once I have that I am gonna haul my lazy butt onto it every night and start burning some cals and upping my heart rate and all the exercisey nonsense that I normally do my best to avoid knowing anything about.
I re-potted all my toms and basil yesterday so my patio doors are like a mini greenhouse - I'm growing them indoors as the doors are south facing and should be perfick, plus I don't know about you but I LOVE the smell of growing tomatoes, add in the 5 basil plants and it's gonna smell like Little Italy at my gaff. Toms are starting to flower as are my strawbs, herbs flying along, really wish I had planted more stuff but hey, there is always next year. Need to get some troughs of salad out though as currently I am spending a fortune on salad and have eaten all my first crop rocket/mixed leaves.
When the weather is like this I really wish I didn't work fulltime as I'd love to be out pottering, my garden looks like Beirut as have finally had my new fence put up and the builders had a huge bonfire so half the garden is scorched and half is knee high in grass and dandelions and mysterious holes and tree stumps and its going to take a lot of getting under control but when the weather is like this what better way to spend an hour after work, roll on the long summer evenings, it can't be hot enough for me.
Right off to do some more work, have a wonderful day everyone xxComps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%

Someone:mad: ...wants the poota so I've gotta be quick.
I vaguely remember summat about putting fairly large bits of egg shells around plants to stop the slimy ones getting to them----the shells also break down & provide nutrients too:D
Can I recommend MrT Butcher's Choice Sausages, in Pork & Mustard variety? I cooked 'em up whilst in the midst of the bake-fest & we had a cold sausage ploughman's for dinner...mm-m-mm-m-mmmmmmm.
I gave me muvva a lift home after her visit yesterday evening & we sat in the car chatting---as you do:whistle: ----when we suddenly realised how bluddin 'ot it was! So we would like to patent the idea of a mobile turkish bath to promote healthy weight-loss & glowing skin:rotfl:Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Morning everyone,
well iit is still just morning:D
I1ve been out for a lovely walk with the doggies and have just eaten my breakfast of toast sat in the garden, it`s not looking too bad out here but it will be a lot better once i`ve done a few jobs.
I`ve just made a boiled egg salad whilst my toast was cooking and i`ll be taking that to work later along with a small jacket potato and maybe some beans or cottage cheese - on second thoughts maybe cottage cheese would be better as my tummy was a bit dicky yesterday.
I`ve chopped up some carrots to dip in a teaspoon of garlic mayo so hopefully that will be it.
When i came home last night i found 5 hobnobs in the freezer so i ate those frozen:eek: they were absolutely gorgeous.
Offski to work now so i`ll catch up soon.
Have a lovely day everyone

That looks pretty good. To be low GI you need to keep sugar to a minimum (in drinks, as well as food) and eat stuff that is hard work for your body to digest. In general, salad is better than cooked veg. If you make vegetable soup, it's lower GI if you don't liquidise it (but I always do, because I prefer it liquidised!) New potatoes are better than baked as you haven't cooked them for so long. Pasta is generally better than bread or potatoes, although seedy or granary bread is better than white. Wholewheat versions of anything are better.
One of the very worst culprits is white rice. Remember that old joke about feeling hungry half an hour after eating a Chinese meal? Well, it's true!:rotfl:
