Oooooof I am shattered!
Got up at 7.45am, was out in the garden at 8am and finished at 6pm with only a 15 minute stop for a sit and a drink.
B: 2 small wholemeal rolls with laughing cow traingles
L: Water and more waterVegetable dhansak with boiled rice (yes from a takeaway, because I have had very little else I'm not too worried about eating this)
My hands are sore and I smacked my knee with the garden fork because i was too busy looking at the robin that was following me round the garden looking for treats.
I feel really guilty as well, I dug out what I thought could be a rat hole and when I saw something moving I smacked it with the spade, turned out it was a bumble bee hole and I killed one of themI love bumble bees

When I was little we always had supper, but in recent years I tend not to make anything - but I still mooch about in the kitchen looking in the fridge all night so I thought it might make sense to have something planned at say 9.30, but I can't think what to have. What do you all have?
I love a nice bowl of porridge made with water and a sprinkle of sugar on top. 24g of oats amounts to about 85 cals and costs about 2p including the sugar. Takes about 2 mins in the micro.
Keeps me going 'til morning.

i am failing miserably on my diet, but have decided that if i set out a daily allowance, say 1200 calories and i list all i eat and find their calorific value if i have strayed and eaten a doughnut or chocolate bar once i have reached my daily allowance i will not be able to eat dinner or whatever. trouble is i have googled etc and all i keep coming up is either sites that require you to join and pay at least £2.99 a week or american sites that dont recognise half of the things we eat in the uk. can anyone help????
As all the others have said 1200 is too low - if you consider that the 'average' woman should eat 2000 calories a day, and as you're overweight you have been eating more than that, if you set yourself a target to eat 2000 calories, you should lose weight and your body will adjust to eating less without going into panic mode. After a month or so of this or when you've lost a stone, cut down by 50 cals and so on - but not too low. This is kind of the theory that weightwatchers work on. You get so many points based on how many stone you are, and when you go down a stone you take a point off your allowance.
Also tesco do a healthy eating tracker www.tescotracker.com which may be of some help.
It does take a month or two to adjust to a new way of eating (I don't like the word diet - nothing should be good or bad - everything in moderation). We all know the theory, lots of fresh fruit and veg, little or no processed food, but are good at getting our proportions the wrong way round:cool: '
Take inspiration from Mrs M and follow Froggas progress as she looses her fleece - mmm maybe we should make her put it in a tub of water and freeze it so she can't wear it ....:rotfl:

Would love to come and sit next to your pond, different to here, we have a canal! Cuppa welcome.
I didn't expect that the mention of the fleece would cause so much talk/hilarity/ideas! It was just that you might need to plan ahead. You might need it next week, so don't do anything rash yet!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Frogga:A... bring your fleecy tomorrow and sit on it, whilst listening to our wonderful handbell concert coming to a [STRIKE]pond [/STRIKE]church near you.
Low calorie listening but high calibre dinging.

Hey you lot...leave Frogga's fleecy alone...she needs it right now and will let go when she gets round to it!
Lazy as sin to-day, no energy, was meant to go to a party to-night but just couldn't face 'dolling' myself up...must be getting old!

Oh dear, looks like Froggas having separation difficulties with the fleecy. It's okay...I can help here...I've seen every Supernanny made and recorded to memory.
What Mr Frogga needs to do is allow her the 'fleecey' at certain times during the day, you know..an hour while watching tv, half hour before bedtime so she's not getting stressy... and then gradually reduce the times until she forgets its 'fleecey time' and doesn't ask for it. Then he can depose of it in the wheelie bin or line the whippets basket with it.
Don't worry Frogga, I don't do change well either...I'm still hankering for shillings and thrup'nee bits.
Through all the mess of this week I've still managed to lose 1 lb.It clearly shows that a diet of almond magnums must have been the secret all along. Seriously, its the first week of this year that I haven't done my food diary so I've no idea what I ate.
Yesterday I was furious because I felt something sweet in my mouth while having coffee out with mum and realised there was a biscuit wrapper in the saucer.I'd eaten the lovely caramel biscuit thing they give you with your coffee and not even realised it. I'm not bothered that I ate it..would have anyway.. but fancy eating the biscuit and not even tasting it. What a waste. I guess when I go on automatic pilot with my eating then I just go right back to old habits. Well maybe not..I didn't eat the house out or even think to do that so maybe some progress is being made.
Well I feel really cheered up by reading all your posts; the stuff you all write is so hilarious, even when you don't mean it to be.
I'm sorry Floyd but I was in fits over your rat hole story. I feel for the little bee (love them too) but the vision of you nervously digging that hole out and then whacking the living daylights out of the 'rat' had me in fits..and admiration. I'd have been supervising OH from behind the window.
And the thoughts of MRSMC bras acting as wind sails on the whirly had my stomach hurting. I'm so repressed... I hang mine in the center sections so I can put a barrier of towels and shirts around them so no one points and scoffs. Actually, I do have one pair of knicks that are a bit like magic mittens, they look tiny but expand beyond belief. They are hung on the outer edges loud and proud.
Not going to do a 'food for today' this morning as I'm trying to set the example for Frogga that change is not something to be scared of.
For all those feeling like pooh today, I hope the weekend improves things for you. :grouphug: For all those that lost this week and I lost track, I'm sorry and I will read back. I hate missing the successes, it really encourages me on.We really need one of those 'last week on the OS thread' run downs on a Monday morning..you know like..
"previously on OS thread saversarn had lost 3st and was trialing a diet of guocamole and shredded wheat, taplady was on the verge of a major discovery into the effects of pigeon racing as a means of exercise to combat bingo arms..." etc etc.
Oh dear, can't you just tell that I'm trying to keep my mind off of other things.
Right, OH awake so I'm hopeful of a cuppa. Will pop back later and check up on you all. Sees you later.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250
