    Well done frogga & MrsM!

Sorry to hear about your appointment Pebbles, some of these professionals can be soo condescending - I used to work with locum drs and they were exactly the same!

Last night's meal plan changed as the line dancing was off - I invited the girls round for nibbles and we went walking, so rather than cod & veg I had a stuffed roasted pepper & raspberry jelly, then later had some hummus, falafel & olives with a small glass of low alcohol red wine...all in all I felt I was pretty moderate, so quite chuffed.

Today - Exercise will be a 30 minute walk
Breakfast: Tea, a boiled egg & a slice of buttered whole-wheat toast
    Lunch: tomato soup; fruit
Dinner: I'm going out with a friend, but am planning on sticking to the salad section!

Quite excited as have just been asked on a date with a guy I've been emailing for a while on an internet dating site!! D'you think I can lose a stone by next week? lol!

My weigh in will be Sunday so will update y'all then.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts and I've pulled myself together again now. Suzid, sorry to hear that your son goes through it too. I don't know enough about depression to do my best for him but I'll make sure I find out. SIL has been great as she suffers from it too and all the family have rallied round.
His best friends mum and dad have been to visit and are taking all the lads (DS2 included) out for the day tomorrow to give OH and myself a little time to ourselves.

Any hoo... back to business. Think I need to try and restore normality back and focus on what I'm eating again. Having said that, there's a magnum in the freezer with my name on it and anyone dare touch it and there could be fur flying in this household.
Mum has just taken me out for a coffee to the garden centre (nearest place to heaven for me) and given me a nice pep talk so I'm back to home cooking and not eating anything that comes to hand. :o
I'll get weighed in all the same but not fussed what it says.

Sorry to hear that some of you are not well or feeling blue. Lets hope all the lovely summery weather will build us up to deal with our demons and we can start feeling great again...with the exception of frogga who must be feeling great and flying high already after this mornings weigh in. ;)

Take care and will pop back tomorrow.

anyone up and about now bored who can help?

Try https://www.thedailyplate.com - it's an American site but loads of british food and people on there and since I got pointed to it I have completely been bitten with the DP bug! Love it. I'm even bidding on a cross trainer on Ebay because it's made me realise how important exercise is going to be to weightloss.

MrsM and GLLT - way to go you two! :T

Special mention to the amazing green one *grinning all over my face* I don't think I have ever been as happy to read about someone else's weight loss! You rule lady!

Better skedaddle, got loads of work to finish before I run out the door at 5.30 - very busy weekend ahead of me :T. Have a great weekend everyone xxxxx

  • Hello all - well done to the losers, Frogga - blummin brilliant :j :T :j

Weighed this morning and another 1lb gone which I am pleased with - BMI now dropped a bit too, hoping for 38 something next week :D

I am hoping Friday weigh ins will help me control the weekends, if I have done well I can use the positive thoughts to keep me going until Monday. Off to Brothers tonight so not sure what will be for dinner, usually naughty things but am planning to swim tomorrow and Sunday if I can to counteract things.

I had a thought last night when plodding to the pool - [strike]if [/strike] when I get to my goal weight can I come here for free - gold member :D;)

OK - off to finish lunch now - bagel with cheese, salad and deli mayo nomnom.

And ladies, can I just say, we are all wonderful:T :T :T

Frogga, Mrs MC, Kentish Maid and any loser I have forgotten....huge congratulations! I was lucky enough to stay the same...I think, was 14st 2lbs anyway....might have been the custard that did it ...rhubarb is good...custard not great...yes MrsMC, it was cold!

    Today I have eaten:

    Rest of rhubarb, porridge with milk and sugar;
    Onion sandwich.

Dinner will be roast lamb, roast veggies and baked potatoes, might bake some apples to have with ice cream or yogurt while oven is on.

Pebbles....how dare that patronising b***h treat you like that...definitely complain as that is just not good enough.

Cheerfulness...hugs to you and your family, hope that DS will get the help he needs.

Well done on the weight losses Mrs M, Frogga and Kentish Maid. Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better about the situation Cheerfulness and nice to have you back again. I would definitely make a complaint Pebbles about the way you were treated. Her job is to help you, not put you down.

Hello everyone else and thanks for all the kind messages about the thyroid problem. Considering I've just been put on a lifetime medication I am actually feeling very cheerful about the whole thing if it will help the weight to drop off. It's nice to know there is some reason as I sometimes feel as though I'm beating my head against a brick wall when I eat fairly healthily. get loads of exercise and still don't lose weight. OH said he'd never seen anyone come out of the doctors with a prescription smiling so much!!

I had a really long walk last night (8miles) with my friend and her dog and with the other walks I had already done clocked up over 30,000 steps for the day. I was convinced that I would have lost some weight for my WI this morning but no, still 11 stone exactly!! I have decided to take on board the muscle weighing 3 times as much as fat information and consider myself to have lost 3 units of fat this week but put on l unit of muscle with all the extra walks!!

I'm off to the hairdressers shortly to have my hair highlighted - for the first time ever. I used to use Sun In and did so for 20 years (!) but my hair started breaking etc so I've been growing it out for the last 2 years. Friends and the hairdresser have finally convinced me to get it highlighted but I'm feeling rather nervous about how it will look. However, it's my 50th birthday next week so I thought I'd take the plunge.

OH is working today and the hairdressers is 3 miles away so as it's a nice day I've decided to go on my bike. Maybe the change in exercise will help lose the next couple of lbs.

    Food today.
B: Just an orange as we got up late and I decided to do without till lunchtime
L: Poached egg on a slice of wholemeal toast with a smear of Flora.
D: Prawns with rice, peppers and mushrooms. Raspberry yoghurt.
    Snack: Banana. Fruit juice
    Have a good day everyone.
