Morning all!:j
Meanmarie - good luck for tomorrows weigh in!
Frogga - :j:j:T:T WOW:T:T:j:j, well done you - keep up to good work and the positive attitude!:D
Mrs M - well done on your loss to - 6 1/2 stone gone, you're an inspiration:D
Cheerfulness - sorry to hear you've had a tough couple of days, hope things get better for yur son now he's home safe (((hugs)))
homealone - I read somewhere that you should never go below 1400 calories a day as your body goes into starvation mode and starts braking down protein (muscle) for nourishment (that's bad). If you want to count calories, theres a good book which I have called the Calorie, Carb and Fat Bible. I've got the 2003 edition but its still got loads of products in it and more up to date versions would probably include just about everything you can think of including branded and shops own products.
Interesting fact: Did you ladies know that muscle weighs three times more than fat by volume? So if you have a litre of fat and a litre of muscle, the litre of muscle will be three times heavier. Worth remembering if you're exercising a lot as you may be losing fat, putting on lean muscle and the scales may not be moving. Athletes often show as overweight on the BMI scale because they have so much muscle - so we must all be athletes! :rotfl::rotfl:I knew there was a reasonable explaination;)0 -
i am failing miserably on my diet, but have decided that if i set out a daily allowance, say 1200 calories and i list all i eat and find their calorific value if i have strayed and eaten a doughnut or chocolate bar once i have reached my daily allowance i will not be able to eat dinner or whatever. trouble is i have googled etc and all i keep coming up is either sites that require you to join and pay at least £2.99 a week or american sites that dont recognise half of the things we eat in the uk. can anyone help????
you can get a free trial at www.weightlossresources.com there's an american version and a UK on, also you can have a free trial to see if you like it.
I know some people here like DailyPlate which I believe is free up to a point.
Editing.. also OP is correct in what she says about going too low with calories, you also risk not getting adequate nutrition from your food if you don't have enough."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

i've woken up feeling right full of it today(good cheer and all that) i think its the sunshine what done it
i've got a grin from ear to ear. OH has noticed i'm taking more care in my appearance these days and its def making me feel better. have looked in the mirror a few times lately and though "here missus you're not half bad" still have those "i'm fat and nothing fits, it all looks AWFUL" days too but i'm getting there
got lots of money for new clothes for my birthday last week so planning a shopping trip with my friend for some new bits for my holiday (no itsy bitsy bikini just yet tho
)
food for today-
b: weetabix topped with a few frosties for variety
l: a sandwich of some sort
d: omelette or something quick as i'm going out
oh and i have a confessioni made my first ever purchase from an infomercial today  - winsor pilates. i've always wanted to try it and can't afford a class. they reckon 20mins 3x a week should have visible results. i can only try
(i love how the americans call your torso "the powerhouse" :rotfl: the jelly factory in my case...) anyone used pilates? its mainly toning i think, which will suit me because i have a fair bit of stuff attached to my tummy and hip area from having DS. i'm off to treat myself to some new make up and bits on my lunch break today too, OH has given me some money to as he can see how much better it makes me feel when i'm all buffed and scrubed and stuff.

Fab weight loss Frogga! Let me know when it's time for you to deal with the fleece. Suggest either
a) You get rid of it OR
b) Keep as a reminder, but make some major damage to it so that you can't wear it any more.
THEN
c) start to make sure that you snaffle a little of ££ away each week, cos you'll be wanting to either have new things, or get accessories to update the things you have in your wardrobe."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

morning to everyone...frogga..fingers crossed...;)
right had better get off an get the veggies watered before the sun is full out..
have a great day everyone and keep up the good work :T will catch up with everyones news soon
Weigh in was pants:mad: I gained a pound  BUT a) I missed 2 dance classes and a swim due to my tumble and b) I've only been doing the SW plan about 90% so it's a bit of a wake up call!
I stayed to class which is why I didn't get on last night and had a mini pigout last night but today is a new day!I've brought all my books in with me and will plan my shopping list and mealplan for the week. I wil go for a swim at lunchtime - knee is feeling ok but my ribs are still sore so a swim might 'loosen me up' a bit.
Boiled eggs and soldiers for brekkie, pasta salad and some fruit for lunch, quorn sausage and SW chips with veg for tea.
Back later, work is calling :A
WELL DONE FROGGA!!!!!!!!0 -
Frogga - :T :T your new floaty tops will be falling off you soon!!
MrsMc - Well done, i daren't look at my bmi, it would scare me!!
Congrats to everyone else who has lost, I have stayed the same this week, but also have my AF due so we will see what happens!
Cheerfulness - Glad DS is home safe ((HUGS))
had crappy week, following my op i am still off on sick, (IB) so this week i had an appointment with NHS condition management programme lady, they are kinda service that put you in touch with different people to help you cope with your condition, ie, physio, pain management, sleep clinics, alternative therapies etc. I was really looking forward to the meeting, feeling v upbeat, and ended up coming out of there feeling lower than a beetle!
throughout the whole hour meeting we discussed several things, but she kept turning it around to my weight, i told her about my diet and how i have improved it vastly since finding you guys and abouit the walking and exercise i do, but none of it was good enough for her.
she honestly spoke to me like a child saying things like well obviously you arent getting the balance right as you would be loosing more weight etc.
she took it upon herself to also decide that my rsi problems are not caused by my nerves, but by my weight and posture, I KNOW i have got good posture as i have already been down this route a while ago with a diff physio who said i was good posture wise.
When i advised her off the advice my prev physio had given me she actually turned around and said, now are your sure thats what he said to you, and was he was def a registered physio! i honestly think that majorie dawes of little britain could have given better advice than that little madam!
she even claimed that my sleep probs (i dont sleep much cos of my pain) were also not caused by my rsi but that i have trained myself to not sleep! !!!!!!!!!
i didnt let her push me into a binge, although i prob havent eaten as well as i could have admittedly. im not sure what to do now as im seriously considering putting a complaint in as she offered me no real help at all, as i said it did not matter what i said, she knew better according to her , she just constantly undermined me throughout the whole meeting.
sorry to rant peeps, i will shut up now! Please be nice to all moneysavers!

This will probably be my last post for a week or so whilst we're away in sunny (?) wales. Got on the scales this morning and I've only lost 1/2lb. Really thought I'd lost a bit more as I've done shed loads of gardening this week and I pounded round the Trafford Centre none stop for 3 hours yesterday. Anyway, I must think that at least I've lost which brings my pre hol loss to 4lb out of 10lb. I should be happy but don't feel it at all
.
Sending extra hugs to all of you whilst I'm away
