Eating for the day was rearranged somewhat. DD2 had her hen party here last weekend - we went away. This afternoon I found, lurking at the back of the fridge, a nearly full 1kg pot of potato salad which had been left over.

Now I love potato salad, (although it isn't exactly what I'd pick to lose weight on!) However, there are only the two of us to eat it and DH loathes it. He adores fried potatoes, though. Solution: I gave him some to fry! Worked brilliantly. Fried potato with a few eggy bits.

Back to the diet once we've eaten it, as we don't do waste.;) I might not be as Marvellous in May as I'd hoped (though I have lost a couple of pounds), but it's DD2's own fault if her Mum appears in the wedding photos fatter than DSIL's mum! I shall have to rely on the Spanx knickers (as worn by Gwyneth Paltrow. Bet she doesn't need them. though!):rotfl:

I shall be back for whatever the June challenge will be called, though. Caterina?;)
If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?

i am failing miserably on my diet, but have decided that if i set out a daily allowance, say 1200 calories and i list all i eat and find their calorific value if i have strayed and eaten a doughnut or chocolate bar once i have reached my daily allowance i will not be able to eat dinner or whatever. trouble is i have googled etc and all i keep coming up is either sites that require you to join and pay at least £2.99 a week or american sites that dont recognise half of the things we eat in the uk. can anyone help????

    Morning all

heck knows why im wide awake at this ungodly hour  but i have taken the bin out, got the bread underway..well its weighed and sat in a bowl waiting for the yeast to start work, i have the beans i soaked over night on cooking...aduki, soya, kidney, mung, pinto and something "unknown" :rotfl: and now im sat here with a brew.... waiting for hubby to get up so i can make my juice...don't want to start craching around whilst he is in bed :p

Any how... lost 1.5lb this morning :j which takes me to exactly 6.5st gone and i have hit my marvelous may challenge :D as i have had 2 weigh ins... so i think i will now just see what extra i can shift for the rest of the month ;) .... oooh and my BMI is down to 33.5..... come on 25 come on 25...then i won't be classed as fat at all :p

    meals today..
    1. brekkie -apple, pineapple, peach, kiwi and melon juice nomnomnom and i have a few oats with apple n sultanas soaking so will add a dollop of yogurt to that
    2. lunch - mixed bean and quinoa salad, some fruit
    3. dinner -jacket potato salad with organic feta
    4. snackies -fruit or yogurt
Hubby nipped me to Lidl last night :j .. so amongst other things i now have extra fruit
    • a cantaloup :D melon
    • honeydew melon
    • chunk of water melon -only because they didn't have a whole one
    • pears
    • apples
    • peaches
    • bananas
so that, added to that i got yesterday morning should be enough fruit to last me the week ...if im good and don't munch it all willy nilly :o

Marie.... rhubarb n custard mmmm was it cold? it has to be cold like nana custard ;) ... When i spoke to mum she had just picke up some date n rhubarb slices...i love the old bakes n puds.... steamed apple sponge n custard ..... my mum used to make cracking puds (which may part explain all of us being "well upholstered" :rotfl: )

Recovering..... "subway" :p when we first got here we found one near us and as we had no belongings then we had a couple of meals there.... they are huge out here ..they make the UK ones look like happy meals :D ..and they are stunning.. mind everything out here comes bigger n better.. last time we were out here we stopped off at a burger king.. in the UK i never ate stuff like that but out here they are really nice..and huge ;)
Hope the Tapping continues to work for you ...i have seen paul mckenna do that -where you tap yout wrist, collar bone and just under your eye but never really paid much attention -but perhaps i should :D

I used to swim a lot when i was losing weight before..i used to go to the "fitness" swim, where you can only do lengths -and no kids allowed :T i used to go every day mon-fri and do 130 lengths.. swimming is one thing i can do no problem..well apart from the swimsuit issue (no-way am i willing to put one on yet) I look like a bag of ferrets fighting in a wet suit :rotfl:

RoseWood.. not good news from the doctor..but its better to know and have them do something about it isn't it!!... Hopefully it will help things along -because with how much walking you do you should be built like a whippet...i don't know how you find time to eat :p

PurpleIvy.. my mum had the same complaint about lack of salad/veggies in Lidl yesterday..but when she nipped in asda she realised everyone seemed to be buying BBQ stuff as they had given out good wether for the weekend -so obviously they had snaffled the salad from LIDL... we are like you -eat salad all year round..us lot should get a loyalty card then get 1st grabs on salad during the summer ;) ..
You are right ..the prices here are far better... you can spend a fortune as the range of stuf out here is mind boggling but they seem to keep the basics quite stable.. i haven't noticed much change in anything YET fingers crossed

have i missed rockies weigh in??? and where are you cheerfulness?
    morning to everyone...frogga..fingers crossed...;)
right had better get off an get the veggies watered before the sun is full out..
have a great day everyone and keep up the good work :T will catch up with everyones news soon :D

Really well done Frogga and MrsMc. :T :T :T :T

Have had a hellish couple of days and have only just scanned through the posts but wanted to try and catch up. Sorry to hear about your sister MRSMC. You do right to keep that positive attitude even when its difficult. (hugs)

Also Rose wood, its a blow to find out you're poorly but hopefully they'll get you fixed up and feeling better soon.

For my part, I honestly can't remember what I've eaten over the last 48 hours. I've had a house full of friends and family as DS1 went missing. (suffers from bouts of depression so scary). Upshot, we have him home safely now and their lovely boss has put them on compassionate leave.

Will come back later when not blabbing.
