I do get a bit of the green eyed monster sometimes but figure that hey - he is still here so must be doing something right!

Yes, you're right, it's us they hop off with at the end of the day so why worry? Worrying about it wouldn't stop it happening anyway would it. When I voiced this to Mr Frog last night he was quite hurt. He said " Do you think that little of me?" Hmmmm So I've pulled meself together and I'll say no more about it ;)

    Evening all

yes im back again :p ..im slowly climbing the walls :o hopefully hubby will be home soon then i can ear bash him about sis instead of you lot ..sorry folks :o

Have been stewing on and off all evening.... sat here getting worked up..and that will be no use at all

thanks for the good wishes for sis :D

toniwotty -I have never smoked either..my sis has for years and still is doing  .... she really doesn't look after herself very well at all :wall: .... even through her last lot of chemo when she was suposed to stay in because her immune system was low -she still went out

Anyhow I have decided to give our diet another "tweak" (yep im THAT spooked  )as you know we allready eat 99% of things cooked from scratch..don't fry (never have) and eat plenty of veggies and little red meat... well im going to use this next 3 weeks to run things down and then when i start my June budget im going to make some changes....so far i have thought of..
    1. swapping white flour for granary, seeds etc -allready have hubby accepting spelt flour so its a start ;)
    2. buying wholewheat pasta  have just done half n half and it was fine..so we will cope :rotfl:
    3. increase our oily fish intake..which is mainly salmon as thats my fave
    4. the juicer is coming back out to play..i eat loads of fruit anyway..but this way i can ram plenty down for brekkie ;)
    5. reduce red meat to no more than once a week... don't have it much more often anyway
    6. and even though i have got rid of nearly all sweeteners i still have SF jellies :D well they are going too.... then that should be just about every processed item out of our diet..i think :p
    7. oohh then i just need to deal with the butter..but we like that :rotfl: .. so for how often i use it..about once a week it can stay temporarily... and i will swap from mayo/salad cream to oil dressings or greek yogurt based ones ;)
im sure you lovely lot will think of loads of things i haven't thought of :D

right ..enough rambling..sorry for the ear bashing but i have it out of my system now..i think :p
right had best get off and leave you all in peace..hope your weigh in went well Taplady :D have a great evening all :T ..

    Just a quickie

Taplady - good luck with the WI
Helen Yorkshire - you can do it!!!:j

I have been good again today, got very hungry and grumpy about 5pm so instead of snacking to keep myself going, I made my BF help me cook an early dinner then I had a solero (only 99kcals!) and now I'm not hungry at all and pleased with myself for resisting the tin of muffins in the kitchen ( they've all got raisins in anyway - yuk!)

Long day tomorrow so have to plan food carefully:

    B - banana shake
    S - cereal bar, banana
L - two small granary rolls with chicken and salad, some cherry toms and a yoghurt
S - one small granary roll with chicken and salad, banana
D - leftover stirfry from tonight, solero

That should do it, I'll go for a run after work too :D

Have a lovely evening everyone! (that wasn't such a quickie in the end!)

    Hi everyone,
it`s taken me ages to catch up cos the pc is doing funny things at the moment:mad:

Well i`ve been absolutely carp and all i`ve eaten is carp too.
Lots of gardening has been done and i`ve been falling into the house at stupid o clock and eating takeaways:mad:

Today i`m at w**k and was supposed to be being good but i`ve just had a big bag of quavers and i`ve just finished off a huge family sized bag of chocolate eclairs.

Tomorrow will be a fresh start methinks.
I`m off before another post vanishes.

Hope you`re all back on the straight and narrow, good luck.

  • Back again. Remembered that I was going to update on my pedometer usage yesterday. At end of work had done just over 7000 steps but as was going for a swim anyway decided to walk to pool and back (roughly 20 mins each way. When arrived home from all this exercise had done nearly 13000 steps  - amazing. This won't happen every day but as I enjoyed the walk and swim and felt good for it am planning on doing this more often (weather permitting). Am also more in control of food these last few days, despite the fact that it is TOM starting today :(

Hi Mrs M - your tweaks sound good to me, wish I had a hubby that was that easy to feed, mine isn't too bad but would soon complain if I gave him salad every night. He is more a meat and pots chap ;)

Nice evening all - off to watch SirAlan.

Right, who's gonna tell Jlynn the rule about top post ? Im suitably cross
Sorry, frogga, didn't mean to step on your lilypad!

I am so fed up - made mylovely tuna pasta salad then proceeded to eat the lot, THEN went and bought an ice cream! Even as I was walking to the cafe to get the ice cream I kept seeing my reflection in shop windows and thinking "god, your'e so fat!" I need a kick up the backside, people!

    evening!

Just had my jacket spud and cottage cheese for tea after SW - am very pleased as I lost 2lbs and am bang on target again:j :j :j didn't expect to lose anything!

MRSM - I like wholewheat pasta, cant tell the difference when its got a sauce on it and I use it in lasage too. I always eat wholemeal or seeded bread but the others prefer white. I hope your sis is ok. My DH smokes (rolls his own) even after a heart attack and a bypass:rolleyes: but I have never wanted to - cant stand the smell.

superspam - didn't realise Soleros were so low in cals:T thanks for that - might have to buy some and hide them from DH:D

I am on an early shift tomorrow so may not have time to post till evening.

    Take care you lot xxx
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • Hello everyone - late on the computer today, so just had a quick read of all the posts - hello to newbies and everyone else!

Fingers crossed for weigh in Taplady. - posts crossed - just seen your weight loss so that's wonderful!

Mrs M - you are truly amazing! I feel so bad for you at the moment with the news about your sister, but you are dealing with it so well - I admire your spirit and resolve and I hope that the chemo sorts out the secondary mass. It must be such a worrying time for all your family. You are do doing the right thing by keeping yourself distracted but I don't think I could be that strong.

Frogga - glad you are feeling more positive today and have discarded your fleece. I am like you - I am fat but yet I am a total obesophobic - I always judge people on their size and look at me - fatter than most of them:confused:

Had a bad day eating wise, but it got better and I didn't have a binge - just ate too much at mealtimes IYKWIM.

I got an appointment with the gastro consultant this afternoon (I have BUPA so saw him privately). He said that the polyp I had three years ago was the sort that doesn't need following up and in his opinion I didn't need another colonoscopy, so he will just put a camera up the rear end and have a look to see if all is well. I am still worried but less so than yesterday. They will ring me tomorrow and let me know when to go for the test - probably next week or week after. He also started me on a tablet for the windy tummy thing. I got myself so worried before I went in it was ridiculous. He didn't say too much about my weight, but I was still terribly embarassed (more so because he is a similar age to me and GORGEOUS looking). Anyway -

    Food today:

Breakfast - toasted bagel with jam and butter
Lunch - sandwiches of Bernard Matthews turkey 3 slices of bread :(
Dinner - grilled sirloin steak with pasta and tomato sauce with parmesan (Huge portion), followed by half a Blue Riband and a bit of low fat vanilla ice cream.

Note the absence of any fruit or veg!

I think I am definitely going to try and give up red meat and cured meats. I also had a can of Diet Coke (Caffeine free) today for the first time in over 2 years and I don't know if this is the reason but I have been soooooooo thirsty ever since I had it and it was not nice either.

I agree with Frogga - sweet potatoes and courgettes are yuck! Although I did once have a courgette cake (sort of like carrot cake) and it was v.nice.

hope you are all having a nice evening - DD2 is glued to the Soap awards so I think I will read my book.

Am thinking of trying to use up a packet of vegemince out of the freezer tomorrow - anyone got any good ideas of how to use it?
    Jane

I daren't put all that lot in mydailyplate :D I don't want to know how many calories I have consumed

I had to look......... Bloomin 'nora - there were 643 calories in my blinkin breakfast sammich!!!!!!

    Kentish maid

My hubby would live on salad if i left him to it :p and our fave meal is jacket with cottage cheese n salad..hubby quite often sits with a pot of cottage cheese and a handfull of carrots :T so as long as i don't give him apricots he will eat just about anything else i put in front of him..bless his little socks :T

Jlynncfs... i made tuna pasta salad for dinner too :T i have been ignoring hubbies platefull in the fridge..so he had better eat it when he gets in ;) don't beat yourself up..we all have blips..and at least you had to walk to fetch the ice cream..much better than having it in the freezer where you could just grab it :D

Taplady..you have just had my fave meal nomnomnom..as long as there wasn't pineapple in it bleughhhhh
super duper well done on the loss this week...look at you...super slimmer or what :j
My dad was just as bad... had his frst stroke in his 20s, one of the first people to have a metal mitral valve in and still carried on smoking..right up to 6 month before he died..he gave up "just like that" and then we lost him anyway..but at least he gave up eventually :T . There is only me and 1 brother who have never smoked the other 3 all do  ...

Recovering..glad you got seen that quick :T and why are doctors never pug ugly  always drop dead gorgeous...especially the ones who end up dealing with your "nether regions" :o :rotfl: hope they get everything sorted out quickly for you ....
I used to drink loads of diet coke..but like you -now, 1 glass leaves me sooo thirsty..so i have given it up :D
Thanks for the kind words about sis... i think me and my 2 sisters seem to cope with stuff better than the boys... my brothers really struggle to talk about it or look at sis as she looks poorly... she loves chatting with me cos i still treat her the same and we have the same "get on with it"attitude.. if im honest i was expecting bad news.. apparently she fessed up today that the tumour she had had only a 5% survival rate  that one has gone but now she has another smaller one... so fingers crossed..
I realise there is nothing i can do to help her as such... but at least if i sort out our diet then there is less chance of the family going through it again ok im waffling again...sorry folks..
will get off and have another glass of water
night all see you in the morning :D
