Just had a steaming coffee placed before me so off to relax and 'debrief' DH. Don't want to miss out on anything from the weekend and only caught up on the 'gossip' from us girls. Years have taught me that the guys have much better little gems revealed to each other. And they say that women can chat!
I do not need to know who or what you are in the process of 'debriefing' lol
Yes that is the biggest brat and he is an absolute !!!!!!.. he makes all 7 of the others together a doddle.. I think that is his purpose lol.. he once hit me in the tummy with his bike handle when I was pregnant. He is STILL doing the 'you love the others more than me' thing.. honestly.. is there any need? .. my reply to that was 'no when you are all horrible I loathe you all in equal amounts!'.. I don't respond well to emotional blackmailing!
Anyway.. I've lost 2lb somewhere this week.. if someone finds it.. send it back.. I'm not playing this game!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi all
I have been missing in (food) action for a few days but decided to brave the millions of posts and come back to say hi before I go on my hols.
The sun is shining here, the weather forecast for London is showing truly glorious weather, and rainstorms in Barcelona, Sod's law or wot! :-(
Good on you all losers and hugs to the gainers, tomorrow is another day an'all that...
Taplady, sorry about your litte dog, I have pm'd you (HUGS)
Frogga, so good to see you stay, sorry about your earlier crisis but great that you have picked yourself up and going positive again! Thank you for appreciating my monthly names for our challenges, but I am sure that other people here can find more interesting ones!
Orpheus, I accept your invitation to a fat-free Chinese with gratefulness, just fix the date, after 14th May of course when I shall be back and in dire need of fat-free food - actually, when I go to our local Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant (where also I am known by first name LOL) I always ask for food to be cooked free of MSG! Not quite the fat-free thing but healthier at least.
Nix, you cracked me up when I read about your drunken misadventure with the Kebab and salad, it reminded me of when I was pregnant with the twins and used to order Strawberry Daiquiris (on account that all that vitamin C in the strawberries was going to be good for a pregnant woman!).
RS, what can I say about your DD situation that hasn't been said yet? I feel your pain, I had many years of torment with a son who has been into drugs and really not pleasant company. He screwed up his education and put me and the rest of the family through hell, but now is nearly 19 and growing out of the worst of his behaviour, in fact he is getting really quite pleasant at times. They do grow out of this sort of crap, but while it goes on it is a nightmare. I also agree with Frogga, I could top Frogga's marriage exploit anytime with my out-of-law behaviour from age 15 to 20, but will spare you all the nasty details (really NASTY, no joke). I am now a regular member of society, and have turned as honest as a Franciscan nun! I also agree with the advice you got about getting tough. If she sees that you let her get away with things she will go on, but if you put your foot down she won't! Remember though, there is hope for everybody. Good luck with your DD and be good to yourself while this goes on.
OK: foodwise, I have been all over the place, eating out, not doing the SW at all, not exercising (except for a keep fit class today), and still stayed the same. I am sure that on my return from Barcelona I shall have put on some weight but I am challenging myself to try and eat sensibly (albeit not as a diet) and make healthy choices whenever I can. Time will tell, update when I am back.
Love to all
Caterina (nearly all packed up and ready to go!!!!)Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Lovely post Caterina! Have a great holiday x
Frogga- great posts from you too, really thinking this through with your little amphibian brain there, and you are right you'd never dream of saying to an ex smoker oh go on have one you know you want to, or an alcoholic- for some reason food is seen differently. Well good luck to you lady and as far as I know sugar is very very bad for frogs so there0 -
Hello folks:hello:
'puter is now safely installed in it's new home, the decorating is finished:D and the house is ALMOST back to normal
But we had a flat tyre this morning  and the telephone has just blown up  we've had it 6months and I threw the reciept away last week
Food wise I've been reasonably good all weekend apart from the buttered roll that leapt into my mouth last night:rolleyes: and I've just had stuffed aubergine with roasted new pots for tea.
I've worked really hard all weekend painting, cleaning and sorting clutter - the binmen emptied the bin this morning and it's almost full again........I would have gone to the tip but the car is out of action
RS - My son took my bank card and drew cash on it, when I found out I threatened the police but it hurt him more to take the money back from his birthday money, after all he'd already spent it hadn't he?????? I would insist she pays it back.
Pigpen - Well done :T :T :T :T 2lbs eh??? No you can't have it back, just send the next 2lbs to look for them and then they'll get lost as well :rotfl: :rotfl:
Off now to tackle the ironing mountain, 2 weeks 'normal' ironing plus a huge pile of summer stuff
See you tomorrow folks :A0 -
Well it looks like spring has finally arrived in sunny N Wales, at last. Birds are twittering, bees humming and DH snoring
. We started off very well this morning on the drated fencing. All 40 metres of it!! I was hammering the wire onto the wood (my thumb and first finger are battered to prove it) while DH followed with the staple gun. Then he ran out of staples and had to buy some more, then have lunch, then felt tired then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Bless him. On Saturday he slept all afternoon and part of the evening. Wouldn't hear of me sleeping in the lounge as he was feeling so much better for the sleep. Sunday I put on my size 14 jeans and T shirt and boy did he sit up and pay attention :kisses3:
. So I think today he's recovering from yesterday :rotfl: :rotfl: !!!!!
WE HAVE A POTATO :T . It's popped up over night in the garden, yay. Seeing how overcrowded the Greenhouse thingy is DH said 'lets get another one', so we did and I've managed to fill both, one with repotted tomatoes and the other with everything else. I hope to get the B Sprouts out in the garden tomorrow and I'm going to have another go at some peas in the garden as well as in pots. Still no sign of the runner beans, so I bought more seeds today and will start off another batch. You can never have too many beans now can you!
RS I agree about getting hold of DD's new clothes and taking them back to the shops, many will give refunds especially if you explain about the theft, which is what it was. CHANGE THAT PIN, PLEASE. I sat here and fumed reading what you had to put up with:mad: . I started thinking about revenge with a pair of scissors on her cherished clothes, but then she'd probable do the same to yours:rolleyes: . Give me a dog anyday.
Frogga I've had to give up all cakes and puds because I couldn't eat just one. I posted earlier that my DD (nurse) had said ' Mum if you carry on as you are you'll end up diabetic and you won't be allowed them anyway'. So with this in mind I've stayed clear since last August and only had minor cravings. It is sooooo hard watching the rest of the family eating them though isn't it, so as we're all fighting the flab, I just don't buy them any more. Cruel mother that I am:D .
Time I got some tea organised but not at all hungry, so might have Admirals Pie later. DS got himself some pasta and meatballs earlier and DH keeps trying to kill off his lurgy with industrial strength curry:eek: .
Have a good evening all. Commiserations to those struggling and to Droopydrawers on those sadistic scales:eek: . Have a lovely holiday Caterina, I loved your monthly names.

I have had a good day!:T I have eaten the following:
B- branflakes and skimmed milk
L - tomato and red onion quiche with couscous salad
S - yoghurt
D - sheps pie with carrots, peas and sweetcorn
P - low fat icecream with left over juice from the summer pudding I made for the freezer.
Tonight is Harp night (open mic night every Monday at the Harp pub in Albrighton) and I have to have one double Jack Daniels to warm me vocal chords. Apart from a glass of wine on a Friday, thats the only alcohol I drink so I don't class it as a naughty.;)
In a jolly good mood all in all:D, had a very productive OS day baking things with raisins in for the freezer - banana walnut and raisin muffins, coffee walnut and raisin cake, carrot and raisin cake, banana flapjack (no raisins there so I'll just have to resist) and twinks with raisins!:rotfl:I have also made 10 portions of Shepherds pie, two of which got eaten, 1 large summer fruit pudding and two individual ones for when I just have to have a pudding( these last three items do not contain raisins!) All that has now cooled and gone in the freezer - crikey I'm knackered!
Frogga - I'm with you - the mind is a very powerful thing:cool:
Oh - went for a quick run too and about to walk the doggies - feeling rather smug about my good behaviour today :A
Hope everyone is well. Back to work tomorrow but I don't have to get up till 7 woo hoo!:T0 -
Hello everyone - just a quick 5 minutes on the computer. Went out to Cheshire Oaks today with my friend and left both DD's with their Dad. Had a nice wander round the shops and bought a couple of T shirts for DD2 for her trampoling and tennis. My stomach is still iffy (windy and sore) so have eaten quite lightly today and I agree with Frogga - whenever I eat better, after just a couple of days my mood lifts and I feel so much better - then it usually all comes crashing down if I just even eat a tiny bit of "forbidden" food. This time I am trying to say that nothing is forbidden, but I too have the old diet mentality. Mind you I think kicking a food addiction is so much harder than drugs or alcohol - imagine saying to a heroin addict "Now you can NEVER have heroin again so get used to it! Except you have to have a little bit three times a day" - It's just daft. If only there was a pill which meant you never had to eat anything at all ever, and not get hungry or anything, then I would take it.
Hope you've all had a nice weekend.Jane

Glad you've had a more normal day Jane. I love going to Cheshire Oaks, sometimes you get lucky and others you can't find a thing.
did your dd1 come home last night? Mine arrived at 1.30, we hadn't got her text before we went to bed, saying she was coming home, not staying on sleepover, SHe had to ring, as the key was in the door![SIZE=-1]"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
