Hi All,
Wow, Mrs M what a great loss, especially so far down the line. Well done. I too have lost today - 2lbs so am now down to 11 stone. I can't wait to see the scales reading 10st something. It's been a while coming, especially as I'd planned to be 9stone something by now, but better late than never.
Welcome back Frogga. It really is difficult sometimes, isn't it? I am sure you can get there eventually though. That's the problem isn't it. We all want to see instant results and feel disheartened when it takes so long.
OH is back to work today so I am on my own for the first time for ages. He only works odd days so it isn't too bad. I am planning a really long walk this morning. I've texted a friend to see if she wants to come too but if she doesn't reply I shall just go on my own. I am sure the long walks are helping. I walk as fast as I can and a pleasant money saving by product is that I am so warm when I get back I don't need any heating on. I think we've only had it on once since we got back and it's not been that warm, especially compared to the temperatures we left behind in Spain.
Food plans for today.
B: Fruit and fibre with raisins and skimmed milk. Cranberry and raspberry juice.
L: Salmon sandwich with lots of cucumber, cherry tomatoes and beetroot as a side salad. Banana.Roast chicken, roasted vegetables (peppers, red onion, sweet potato, mushrooms, garlic), green beans, HM stuffing. I shall do roast potatoes for OH but skip them myself. Raspberry yoghurt.
Hope you all have a good day.

Rockie.. do you have time to get your head shaved?? .. wear a teeny tiny mini skirt and a crop top?? it is summer after all!!
.. everything crossed for you hun!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Don't go there!! I would frighten children in a crop top and a mini skirt:eek:
Alas, it didn't work but at least I stayed the same which is good
Quickie from me this morning, I'll pop back later and read the posts.
New attitude from me today, my horoscope says that I need to stop worrying about the things I can't fix and concentrate on the things I can SOOOOOO I can fix ME, no-one else!!!!!
That is my new attitude as from today
Mushroom omlette for brekkie with toast. Don't know about lunch yet as there are rumblings about going for a curry (we are within spitting distance of Manchester's famous Curry Mile) Tea will depend on what I eat at lunch ..........:D
See you later :A0 -

I have decided that for May I am not going to eat anything I don't like just because it is diet food - that means that for May I will not buy or eat:
Mullerlight yoghurts - over sweet and chemically
Quorn in any form - just revolting
low calorie coleslaw - ditto
artificial sweetner - tastes vile and not good for you
turkey rashers - just horrible
very low fat cottage cheese - will get the normal stuff
low fat spread - goes like snot when you put it on toast
Weight Watchers ready meals - all revolting and tiny little portions for too many calories
Hope you are all having a nice day!
Sounds like a good plan RS I have used many of those in the past, but can't say I enjoyed them.
If I had been asked to write a list, it would have looked just like that. I would add low cal salad dressings, especially the ones that are suppose to emulate oil&vinegar style dressing.
Frogga That sounds like a really good low GL meal plan for today. I'm inclined to be in control at work, in the day etc etc and I know that, but it still doesn't make me aware of the times when I know I'm going to have my head turned (or rather my mouth filled!) by something I hadn't planned to eat. Last night at chorus, we had cake brought my our MD, I shouldn't even have gone in the room! Her sis works for MS so they were reasonable cakes. If I hadn't put myself in that position it wouldn't have happened. I should try and keep the kitchen counters clear of food... there was one piece of my skinny apple cake on the counter. If I'd put it away I wouldn't have thought of it when I came in late, shattered, stressed about something etc. I'd have just had the cup of tea and maybe fruit.... fruit lives in the bowl on the counter top.
As you can tell, I didn't have too good a day yesterday. I wouldn't say it was a 'gaining' day as such, as meals were pretty reasonable, just had a snack or three too many. I'm disappointed that my weight isn't going down at the moment, but maybe I need to try harder to be organised for the difficult moments.
I have a houseful tomorrow and overnight, annual meet up with dh's uni friends. There will be three families (4 of the adults at uni together) plus dh's walking buddy and son, plus dd's b/f total 13 on Saturday night. First time we put our new big table out. Whaddaya know, it isn't big enough... I reckon we can get 12 round at a push! At least it seems reasonable that we got the very big one.
I too have done the think where I've been vague in answer...shrugs, grunts, rolling eyes.. because I've had something in me gob! Wouldn't mind betting that 95% of the members here have done that and most of the other things you described.
I have so much to do today, I need to get a list done and get absorbed in what I have to do. Have to go into work for a lesson first though.
Perhaps some of you can help me out. We're having a mexican/south american theme. need something else (cheap! and made out of stuff I have in my well stocked cupboards) So far I have:-
tortilla wraps of different types
Turkey breast to saute
Refried beans
guacomole
creme fraiche
salady bits and veg
arepas (something dd has had and wants to try. Anyone done them?)
Pud is nutella cake (in freezer, just needs icing) and meringue nests with fruit and cream.
Sun Lunch will be meat balls and pasta with some type of sauce.
Left over cakes etc for pud.
Saturday lunch will be HM soups that friend is bringing, fresh bread. Fruit and cakes afterwards.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received. ALso lots of encouragement NOT to overeat this weekend. I really would like the scales to say 78 point something instead of 80 point something by the end of May.
I feel really low this morning, not ill, tired, headache just a bit grotty. Rather overwhelmed by what I have to achieve today as well.
See you all later.
editing..... we go to Curry Mile sometimes as well. I love it!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Absolutely BRILLIANT MRSM 3.5lbs (those boots are getting closer!!) and ROSE 2lbs :j :T :A . Well done the girls!!!!
Frogga I can sympathise with you completely. You describe doing everything I did too. Hiding away munching through junk and if anyone came close to catching me I felt like Golum, wanted to snarl and protect my 'precious' from them. Horrible, nasty Suzid!:o
Recovering and Frogga (give this a go, oh green one, alot cheaper then that other thing and healthier too) I agree with MRSM about the Paul McKenna CD. I hear him in my head saying, eat slowly, leave some food on the plate when you finish, eat only when you are hungry etc (giggled about the choc MRSM) I imagined my very fav Vanilla slices covered in maggots _pale_ and I can now pass the chiller where they live and think yuk! I thought I just fell asleep while he talked, but something must have sunk in.
I'm going to climb into my trusty Defender in a mo and go rescue some more compost and pots as those peas need to go in urgently. Tomato's already budding flowers and need bigger pots, and the lettuce is showing itself, yay! No sign of potatoes either in sacks or ground but they have a 6ins journey to the surface anyway, bless 'um. Onions and garlic looking good though.
Yesterday had 2 sausages, potatoes, suede and carrots with cauli (from farmers market)and mint sauce for tea, it was bliss mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Ignored Paul saying 'only eat until you're full'.:rotfl:
Have a good day all, and remember we are marvelous!

Hello everyone and well done to MRs M and Rosewood on great losses! And well done to Rockie too for your STS.
Frogga - you sound more postive today which is good. I am a terrible secret eater - always have been. I sometimes drive round eating and then put all the wrappers in a pavement waste bin and come in and pretend that I'm hungry and eat my meal. I also go into takeaway places and order more than one thing and say it like I am ordering from a list for several people - IYKWIM, but I guess you would have to be nuts like me to get that.
Yesterday I ate lightly and today I took DD1 to college without having even a drink, so I stopped at the drive through McDonalds after I had dropped her off and ordered an oats so simple with no jam or syrup, just a sachet of salt (only used a little bit of it) and a sachet of sugar. I really enjoyed it, but I cannot eat porridge unless it has a little bit of salt in it, and then has sugar or honey on the top. I now don't feel hungry and ususally without any breakfast I am ready to eat all kinds by this time.
Rest of the day is planned as follows:
Lunch - prawns, little bit of cocktail sauce, lettuce tomato and cucumber with a couple of wholemeal crackerbread, followed by some strawberries (BOGOF in Sainsburys)
Dinner - small jacket potato, small piece of sirloin steak, dry fried onions and green beans, followed by apple sprinkled with cinnamon and a tiny bit of sugar (cos I'm off the Splenda now!)
Hope you are all having a nice day - it was lovely and sunny here and I put out my washing, but now it is all overcast....
Oh yes almost forgot - the growing thingie is called an Aerogarden - here it is in Lakeland:

There is a better site showing all the different kinds of stuff you can grow with an Aerogarden and it is cheaper than Lakeland. Here it is:

I sooooooo want one now - they look really cool too! I reckon a black one would look nice in my kitchen for herbs and stuff and a white one would be great in the conservatory for peppers and tomatoes. Oh dear not very moneysaving then:oJane

Hi you gorgeous lot!
It should be my weigh-in day today, but I actually forgot!!! OH was away last night at his parents (I'm joining him today) and was running around the house this morning trying to tidy up properly and packing!
Last night I had a HM pizza, with leek and red pepper and random cheeses on - was yum. 2 glasses of rose (!) and a chocolate biscuit (just 1).
Today:
Breakfast: small bowl of museli, (ran out of milk) and 1 slice wholemeal
No idea about lunch or dinner - lunch will be out at work and dinner will be at OH's parents (something healthy i'd imagine, his mum is doing WW)
Have a lovely day you all xx0
