David Gilmore's wailing guitar sends me to heaven - Comfortable Numb - brilliant.
Welcome xredwebx, you'll find alot of peeps are stearing clear of carbs on here and many are veggies with good tasty recipies to share. Good luck.
Completely agree with comfortably numb, although my H2B hates it, some people have no taste! :rotfl:
And thanks for the welcome!
I've just signed up for the £10 a day challenge (although i'm only doing £5), i've decided to stop smoking once and for all (had a month of off and on, definately off now!), and i'm chuffed as i've just seen that my potatos are growing bigger by the day!
So i'm feeling the MSE fever this month, bring on the weightloss, moneygain, smokefreelungs and homegrown veggies!!! :TSealed Pot:member 254

Morning girls and guys.
Must firstly say well done to suzid on your loss. :T :T AND Nikki for getting into those jeans :T :T and not forgetting MrsMc on being able to sit down in your new 3/4's too.and with room for hands in your pockets..the litmus test!
Orpheus - if going to the pub is a favourite part of your life than I think you'll have to work round it..have a white wine spritzer instead.
Think you'll just have to drink slower, that's all. You'll have to apply Nix's 'chew 32 times' to your pint - not exactly sure how
.. theres a little connumdrum for yer.
So we're on with the 'marvelous in May' challenge are we? Sounds good to me. Anyone still battling with the BH challenge for this weekend or is everyone done and dusted?
If I count this weekends weigh in I'll have 5 weigh days in May. Well seeing as I've been trying to be 'marvelous' this week I don't reckon thats a cheat.
I think I'll aim for 8lbs in May then. Better lay off the chocolate fingers that that traitorous DS1 has brought into the house. 5 bags @800g  and he's not even tight with them.
Food today:
Brunch was HM hummous with celery and 5 crackers
Grilled Steak, mushrooms, wedges & salad,
Snacks - grapefruit, orange, satsuma and pear. Probably a couple of fingers.
The sun is dazzling so I think I'll have a cuppa in the garden and then spend the rest of the day sorting my grocery challenge menus and lists and do a stock take of what foods are in.
Just remembered. WELCOME xredwebxAUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Hi have just found this thread & want to join - I want to be marvellous in May I was awful in April. Weighed in this morning - 18 lbs to lose. It is ALL on my waistline so impossible to do anything up, have gained it over last 18 - 24 months. You might guess from my moniker that alcoholic calories are the main problem. Someone else in here is having Quorn cottage pie tonight - me too also with purple sprouting from garden! The whole pie is only 300 cals & it's great to have a guilt-free plate of stodge. Have been good so far today BUT ate lunch at 11am as so hungry so the cott. pie seems a long way off. Had 2 Weetabix for breakfast too! sk milk, natch. Over my lifetime I must have lsot about 75 stone (maybe not quite that much) so should know what to do but that age thing counts against me now. I had mainteined my ideal weight for over 2 years, easily, & thought at last I've cracked it, so am v despondent that I'm fat AGAIN. Anyway - have started today. Hope it lasts! Have already "started 1st jan / feb / march / april plus chinese new year, valentines, easter, lent....maybe now I've found you guys I'll stick to it!!0

Welcome  JennyBee, Winebox (love your name), JackieW and Redweb.
Congrats :j on losses Superspam and Sunnyday.
Happy Belated Birthday Toniwoty:D
Any hello to everyone else - sorry if I have forgetten anyone.
Count me in for Marvellous in May, I need to up the exercise I think to achieve maximum weight loss. Am considering trying to do some walking as well as the gym/swimming. Not sure when though as I never seem to have any spare time in the day!! Could get up a bit earlier and fit in a half hour then. It is times like this when I wish I had kept up my level fitness that I had three years ago when I trained for and completed the Moonwalk. I was a few stone lighter and my blood pressure was, at one point, normal. But - no point in regretting it, as I am now is all self inflicted so I need to shake myself up and get on with it.
Thats better - needed a talking too.:D
Have to go now as lunchtime is over and the office work beckons again
Will be back this evening - have a good day ladies (and gent;) )

Hello everyone - well done to superspam and sunnyday on losses:T Hi to newbies - you'll love it here.
I had a terrible night with my stomach and it lasted into this morning too - I think it was the seedy bread but I was bloated with cramps, kept doing huge burps and felt nauseous. Have really cut back on quantities and had no fat at all today so am starting to feel a bit better (fingers crossed)
so far today I have had:
Breakfast - slice dry toast with poached mushrooms and egg white
Lunch - wholemeal crackerbread with a little bit of leftover tinned salmon and some cottage cheese with onion and chives. Cup of mint tea.
Don't know what to do for tea - was going to do some Sainsburys BGTY mince with boloagnaisey/chilli type sauce, but with my stomach the way it is I might leave that for another day. Might just have a drink of Marigold and some more crackerbread with some lean ham or turkey. Will see how it goes.
I have decided that for May I am not going to eat anything I don't like just because it is diet food - that means that for May I will not buy or eat:
Mullerlight yoghurts - over sweet and chemically
Quorn in any form - just revolting
low calorie coleslaw - ditto
artificial sweetner - tastes vile and not good for you
turkey rashers - just horrible
very low fat cottage cheese - will get the normal stuff
low fat spread - goes like snot when you put it on toast
Weight Watchers ready meals - all revolting and tiny little portions for too many calories
Hope you are all having a nice day!Jane

I love it lol! Very true tho, I hate low fat spread (its plastic in a tub!), rather go withouth and ditto on the WW meals, I find them also really sweet (espec. ocean pie weirdly!).
I'd much rather have less of the full fat stuff and enjoy the taste than have a load of the 'healthy' version, that taste rubbish and usually seems to have more calories/sugar/preservatives/chemicals than the usual.
Just need to work on having a small portion of the full fat stuff and not a huge one!!! lolSealed Pot:member 254
