I shall be there in spirit but not sure about how good the flesh with be, as on 6th May I am going on holiday to Barcelona with my family and will be back here on 14th May.

If I plan it out well and my family are not too obstructive, I could stay on the (fairly) straight and narrow as we will be staying in a hostel where there are self-catering facilities - although we pushed the boat out and booked two twin rooms with en-suite facilities!

All I need to be careful for is lunch, as the buffet breakfast is included in the price, this means I can buy a carton of soya milk and have cereals one day, then toast & jam the next etc... for 6 days. Then dinner will mostly be self-catering, or if out I hope there will be loads of salads etc...

I don't expect to lose much in these days but would love to at least maintain the current weight.

Ah Frogga, hardly Jetsetting, this is a family holiday in Spain - sorry to hear you did not have a holiday since 1987! There are many OS ways to take holidays, have you looked at the options?

When my kids were younger and we were really skint we used to go away camping, you can do that really on a shoe-string, and a lot of camping gear can be obtained on Freecycle.

I also know some people who really did not like camping and cannot afford hotel holidays, who have a 'holiday at home', but of course that is not the same as getting away.

Also check the Travelodge offers and the Sun holidays, all these are listed in the vouchers thread etc...

Good luck with planning a holiday with your family soon!

    Love

    Evening Folks.....

Had a check-up at the dox today & he wants to do blood tests cuz of my weirdy symptoms:eek: Part of me is hoping I do have a medical condition that will explain them
so peeps will realise I'm not faking it :o Might also go some way to explaining my reluctance to part with my flab too, but hey ho!

To the two who've had birthdays this week, I wish you well & every happiness for the coming year...I made a note of your names but Pup has decided it's his piece of paper:p

I like round-meat-n-red-sauce sarnies, & toast toasted on one side then I chose which side to butter:rolleyes: uermmm...ooh ohh oh n I like cheese-n-round-meat-on-toast...do I qualify for your gang Frogga? While preggas with No1, I had cravings for spearmint pips; No2 was spearmint chews & No3 spearmint bombs & all three began with cream crackers, followed by candy shrimps then rowntrees fruit pastilles in a box--I could just get by with a tube in an emergency:D

And Daniel O'Donnell smiled AND winked at me:eek:

  • i will join the marvellous in may campaign. i'm jetting off to cyprus for a week on 28th so want to shift as much as poss! :o i was the thinnest i've ever been last time i went there - 10st exactly  so i'd like to be as close to the as i can. mind i am 12st 12.5 now, so i will still be much bigger than i'd like

must admit in spite of the numerous birthday wishes i'm feeling a bit low today. its nothing to do with getting older (what with me being only 22 :D no joke i actually am) i just all seems a bit of an anti-climax. mind i have got a fair bit of money now to spend on some new (size 14 :D:D ) clothes for my holiday so thats a plus.

ah well, enough of my whineing. xx

    Hi Folks,

Loved all the stories about the nicknames. Looked yesterday but did not post, as was in shame and purgatory:embarasse. We had a good day at work and had a bit of a celebration in the pub afterwards:beer:. Because I had to leave the car behind and get train home, it meant a walk past the chinese, so I accidentally had a take-away for supper last night. Felt so mad:mad: this morning that me and my hangover:naughty: got on the scales and the news is that the half stone I had lost is creeping back to the total of 5lb. Probably means that A) Orph must weigh self more often; B) Orph must not rest on his laurels and let things slide and C) Stay out of the bl**dy pub in the week - you muppet.

Oh well. At least I can hope to be admitted to the Morrissey fan club??? I have never met him, but saw the Smiths live 6 times in my youth and as a kind of runner-up claim to fame, met Johnny Marr at a Pet Shop boys party of all places! (Oh the 80's eh!) Does this count?

Back to OS eating tonight with HM chicken Ceaser salad with extra olives.

    Evening all :hello:
I've just been out in the pouring rain planting herbs :D I won a 'rocket garden' in a comp ages ago and they've arrived today! Basil, oregano, sage, parsley, mint, rosemary, chives and thyme :D
We had pasta with peas, mushrooms, leeks and pesto for tea, topped with LF mozerella - tasty!! Followed by a yoghurt. :T

I've done nearly 12,000 steps today, considering I got a lift in this morning that's good going. :j Dance was fun - waltz and foxtrot today but back to salsa next week.

Frogga I'll join the Marvellous in May if you don't mind, I've failed all the other challenges :o but need to make a go of this. I'm still going to SW but I can't say that the leader is inspirational and I could do without spending nearly a fiver a week.........

MrsM - I do feel useless, I don't think that either my daughter or her dad realise the seriousness of it. They're both the type of people that think if they don't think/talk about it it ain't 'appening.

Toniwoty - Cheer up!!!!! It's your birthday, you're not allowed to be miserable:T :rotfl: :T today

    See you tomorrow folks :A

    Orpheus..

Don't beat yourself up.... I bet that reading on the scales this morning won't be a true reading... you would probably still have most of the takeaway in your stomach and the beer helping you hold fluid ;) ...bet it will disappear in double quick time :T
hope it was something super yummy you had :D char siu pork or special noodles mmmmm...glad that there are no takeaways in walking distance here :p and the delivery menus go straight in the bin...

BigmummaF ..what is "round meat" confused - only think i can think of is truncheon meat..is it that ?? i used to love that with tomato sauce ..and when i was a kid my dad used to toast one side for me and butter the other...i loved it -but now i like my toast burnt :o
