Oh, and Morrissey - bleurgh, always looks like he needs a good wash ;)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I have no idea who Morrissey is (super uncool  ) but I always thought the same about Michael Hutchence (however u spell it :p )

Well done Superspam and Toniwoty :T :T :T Great losses being reported already this week, haven't there?

Welcome Jennybee - I'm sure you'll find this thread as useful as the rest of us, and you can pop that subscription money back into you budget for other essentials now. :D

Not hungry for my brekkies yet which is not a good sign. :o Mix up with my friend over lunch yesterday (she cancelled and forgot) so had her and mum turn up for lunch and only two pieces of salmon. Hid it and gave them cheese and tomato sarnies and then ate both salmon fillets myself for my tea with jacket potato. :o  It was reduced and I didn't want it going off over night. I'd have sobbed if I'd wasted it and it was so gorgeous.... :p
Anyways... tis done and now I'll just have to wait to feel hungry again... darn it! Actually, more likely the size of my jacket tattie that is making me full...:o

    Food today:
    Readybrek (if need it)
Boiled egg with seedy bread fingers
Home cooked ham, mash, salad and picalilli

Snacks - pears, grapefruit, orange, satsuma

Right, off for a look-see in the garden and give those courgettes a thrashing if they haven't made a show... little beggars even got my best compost, not even last years recycled jobbies. How the heck am I to make courgette muffins if they don't get their act together. :(

Catch up with you all later.

    Morning everyone,
the weather looks like it`s going to be much the same as yesterday - chucking it down one minute and sunny the next. I feel quite carp again today but will reserve judgement for later when i`ve walked the dogs, sometimes the fresh air makes me feel better.
Atm i feel too bad to go to w**k but never say never. I didn`t sleep too well and woke at 6am when my foot must have been hanging over the side of the bed and one of the houndlets decided so wash it  i nearly went through the roof lol.

    Meals for today are :-
    Bf toast & pate
    Dinner yogurt & fruit
Tea sausage, mash, peas & gravy

The tea may change though as there are some tubs in the fridge that i daren`t look in so there will be something to either use up or chuck in the bin. I was hoping for a no spend day for the GC but i need tissues as i`m getting through loads and the loo roll is just making my poor nose very sore.

According to my scales i`ve lost another pound but i`m not expecting that one to stay off as i ate so little yesterday it`s probably mucked up my metabolism so anything i eat today will get stored by my bod, still fingers crossed.
Hope everyone has a great day and everyone manages to lose a bit.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

    morning everyone.
well its a cloudy grey day down south...but i feel good as my sz 16 jeans are beginning to feel loose....yayyyy
i find eating off a smaller plate def helps and also just keeping busy. i am trying to keep moving all the time, even if i am just sitting at my desk i am trying to fidget a bit as it all burns off the calories.....
i once watched a programme where they were measuring metabolic rates and used a fat and a thin person. they ate the same foods and their metabolic rates were the same but the thin person just never kept still, just constantly moving even if it was just finger tapping.......so that maybe another way to shift the lard...just keep fidgeting...and annoy everyone too!!!!!!!! lol
    anyways..
    brekky.. 2 x shredded wheat
    lunch....sald filled pitta bread
    dinner..chicken curry ala delia...
    have a great day
    ttfn
    xx

    Hi again,

Need to post properly now. Just signed up for www.weightlossresources.com free trial. I have used this in the past and have enjoyed using it. I did quite well for the first 6 weeks or so. I'll see how I go for a few days. Might just sign up until we go away on hols. It's more expensive doing it short term, but to put it in perspective is nothing like the price of WW/SW/RC or anything like that.

    So far

Breakfast (so far!) small grapefruit and small banana.

Lunch: I think it's time for another batch of D&DD's roasted red pepper hummus with some salad. Yoghurt

Dinner: there is some fish pie left from last night, so that will do for 2 of us, then need to find something for the other 2. DD will have tomatoe sauce and pasta, no probs, there's some in the fridge. Might see if I can find a single portion of something in the freezer. I can have the left over veggies from last night. THis will get the fridge tidied up nicely! Will calculate how many cals in the fish pie before I decide to have it!

Had some grapefruit and a banana.

Morning everyone, and thanks, I love logging in and seeing your weight losses posted, starts my day off with a smile

BigMummaF - indigestion my boot! Anyhoo...............rowing machine did come in handy last night - as I was sat slobbing on the sofa watching Gok I had my feet up on it :D I am working my way up to it, don't want to strain myself, do I? ;)

Didn't do any exercise last night but it wasn't a bad eating day. However I was having a scootle about on the interweb figuring out my resting metabolic rate and therefore around about what my calorie intake needs to be and if I'm not going on a starvation diet - which I'm not - then I have to up my exercise somewhere. I am very sedentary - get up, drive to work, spend 8 hours behind a computer or driving to appointments, drive home and once I am home I hate leaving the house - little bit of a hermit.

    Food for today
    B = porridge
L = buffet lunch at work  however I am going to be super good and not take loads and chew chew chew everything - plus I requested a fruit plate so hopefully I'll snaffle that and not the posh crisps I've just seen in the kitchen
D = DS(13) wants chinese so we're making chili coconut chicken and egg fried rice - he's really excited about doing the cooking so I let him chose whichever recipes he wanted to make himself. So not a great diet meal but I plan on having a small portion and chewing again

Have a great day everyone xx

  • Morning everyone

Have been enjoying your Moz stories, I've seemed to have started something  . I've had the pleasure of the Moz Nod too, outside the stage door of Blackpool Spring Gardens in 2004. I didn't realise we were parked so close to the venue, so whilst walking back to the car we saw him walking out of the venue and into his awaiting car and gave me and friend The Nod.

I think Recovering Spendaholic's shopping story is winning by a loooooooooooooooooooooooong way, indeed too cool for school as Nix put it :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Anyway, Back on topic

Had about 10 celebrations last night whilst watching Sonia from Eastenders going about fad diets. I enjoyed each and every one :D Maple syrup diet anyone?

B - toast (feel yucky again this morning so can't be bothered)
L - HM soup and pizza at me mums
D - Meatloaf, cabbage (DH and DD will have mash)

    Apples to snack on.

I must get off me bum tonight and not watch telly. I've got loads to do so no scoffing chocs in front of the telly.

    Enjoy your day folks :)

    Hi all.

    Food today:
Breakfast - toast with cherry jam (found Harltley's jam do a black cherry one - yum!)
Lunch - out with work :o Not likely to be good calories wise but will definitely be good taste wise :p
Tea - Prawn stirfry (to make up for lunch ;))
Snacks are a banana and a pack of baked crisps.

Not feeling too great today - totm and got a headache and loads to do at work. Plus car has MOT tomorrow so got even more to do (tyre pressure, check lights etc ). Plus it's peeing down here and one of the blokes (such a gent - not!) is expecting me to move my car 10 minutes up the road and carry my parcels to be delivered to work today all the way up there, so he can have the space, just so he doesn't have to get wet

Superspam - can I come to tea please? That sounds yum.

Purpleivy - please can you point me in the direction of the roast red pepper hummous recipe? Pretty please? :D have a jar of peppers in the fridge and a tin a chickpeas gathering dust in the cupboard :o

This is the one I copy and pasted but I can't remember who from. May have been d&dd.

    Red Pepper Hummous
    225g chickpeas
    Juice of 1 lemon
    4 tbsp tahini
    4 bay leaves
    1/2 an onion
    5 cloves of garlic
    2 red peppers
    Salt and Pepper
    4 tbsp olive oil
Soak the chickpeas over night, or longer. Then put them in a pan of cold water, cover plus extra as they will expand a little more. Put the bay leaves, 1/2 onion (cut in half again) and 3 garlic cloves cut in half into the water, bring to boil then simmer for 1.5 hours or until tender.
When the chickpeas are done, drain (keep the cooking liquid) and pick out the bay leaves, but leave the onion and garlic in. Set aside to cool a little while you are roasting the peppers.
Put peppers in oven (220) with a drizzle of olive oil and some black pepper until they start to go black at edges.
Put the chickpeas, peppers, lemon juice, tahini, 2 cloves of garlic, approx 4 tbsp olive oil, salt and pepper into food processor and zzuzzz ( I don’t know what this word should be? Blend? No that’s not right.. erm zzuzzz will do) until smooth. Open it up and check the consistency, you normally need to add a little of the cooking liquid from the chickpeas to get it right.

Hmm on reflection not sure that was her one and I know that you can miss out the tahinni - got that tip from someone on here and it was still delish. :)

That's great thanks - and the tahini would have been my next question as I don't have any ;)

Will try this with the dusty tin of chickpeas ;)
