I have been OK today so far... feel a bit stuffed really, but it was a healthy lunch.

Cassoulet sounds good, my fellas here like it. DD on the other hand... to quote a friend "Won't eat anything with a face".

:undecided Blown today already - buffet lunch at work - 4 quarters of butty, 2 slices quiche, some posh crisps - then some one had made a homemade cream cake and I had a slice of that. I don't know if it's because I have been watching my fat intake but now I feel horrid and bloaty and a bit sick. A few weeks back I could have eaten double that quite happily! What's that about? Plus the thought of eating a big chinese meal tonight makes me want to vomit, sorry. Felt I had to come on here and winge at you lot about it - if I'm feeling miserable I think everyone else should as well :D

    Afternoon all

Had my weetabix for brekkie... then the last of the HM pasta salad for lunch and 2 oranges and still feel fit to bust  so im not doing the luxury cauli/broc cheese for tonight it can stay in the fridge until tomorrow..then we can have it with jackets ;) ...hubby isn't in until after 8 so he can have eggs or beans on toast..hm bread so he won't mind..he will have had decent lunch at the golf club. So i can now just have fruit, yogurts or weetabix for dinner :j
Been tootlin round the garden on and off.... built 2 of the wigwams in the tubs and put another lot of beans in 1... they are about 2ft tall -so that was "interesting" untangling them and seperating them :rotfl: ... the asparagus peas are in their troughs now too :T lots more room being made so i can plant more :p ..oooh oooh and this morning when i went out my 2nd tub of carrots had the 1st little one peeping through....now there are about 30 :D ..my 1st pot are getting their proper leaves.....oooh and more salad leaves are through :D
Suzid..... i have 4 troughs of peas so far..and some more upstairs and im about to set some more  they are doing great..about 3-4" tall and nice n bushy and have just noticed that 1 lot has a flower on  . Peas are a pain in the bum.... the local mouse dug up my 1st lot  so i dragged them back indoors;) .. no doubt i will also have a fight with the slugs..oh and the pigeons... have stuck copper tape round the trough to stop the slugs and im going to be covering them with mosquito netting to stop the damn pigeons ...they are NOT having my peas..they are my fave :p
I just know im goint to run out of room..... still need a sheltered spot for the tomatoes n cucumbers when they are ready..and if all the plants i started from seed make it..im going to have waaaaaaayyy too many :rotfl:

Rockie... My sis has just finished what she hopes is her last lot of chemo...well she has just had another scan and they are waiting for the results to let her know if she is done or not...fingers crossed..and for your ex OH too... really feel for you and your daughter... it makes you feel so useless doesn't it....

well done on the loss Suzid :T :T

Jackie_w ...nice to see you back.. i think sometimes balancing losing weight and keeping the grocery spends down can be a nightmare.. i find myself thinking.. well i could do without "that"... but now have accepted that the spends will have to increase if im going to keep losing (im just grateful that im trying to keep the spends down through choice rather than need).... even though cooking from scratch is cheaper -when you get through the rate of salad stuff and fruit we do it soon adds up  and for a while its only going to get worse (until my veggies are pickable ;) ).... but the fruit issue is only going to get worse... can't blame hubby -he doesn't eat fruit..its me and i can eat shed loads :o mind i do have it instead of meals not as well as :D

Frogga..don't mind peanut butter, like marnimite and like raisins....but all together  ..... can't quite imagine it..still im sure i eat plenty you don't like ;) ... hope you have had a good day :D

Right think i will go and tuck everything up outside...looks like a storm is brewwing  then im going to sit on my bum and do "not a lot" :D have a great afternoon all

    Hi all

Well done on the losses, some amazing ones out there!

I enjoyed the Morrissey stories but I have to confess I don't even know what he looks like, let alone what he sings (I am a 60s rock chick, sorry!).

Re. apricots: I think that anyone who doesn't like fresh apricots hasn't really ever tasted what a fresh and PROPERLY RIPENED apricot tastes, especially freshly picked from the tree! They are truly amazingly tasty, nothing to do with the pale, sad, hard bullets that are being passed for apricots in the British supermarkets. Next time anyone is in Italy or Spain, try a real apricot, it might change your mind!

If you like dried apricots (great source of calcium and iron) try to get the unsulphured ones, they are darker brown and much better tasting than the bright orange ones. Presumably they have less preservatives and chemicals too, especially if you get the organic ones (Sainsbury's do them and also M&S - expensive but worth it and you only need 3 to get your iron levels). For better iron absorption, try to have together with a Vitamin C rich food, as vit C helps iron absorption - for example, chopped in muesli together with fresh strawberries, or even just with a glass of orange juice. End of nutrition spiel!

Frogga, I thought I was the only one who loves peanut butter and marmite together! Great stuff!

Today is a slow and bummery day for me, not sure why. I feel the need for sweet, fatty stuff, perhaps I am coming down with a cold or my (erratic) period is due, who knows....I am managing to stay away from the binge, just....

Went to my usual keep fit class and after 5 minutes I started coughing and felt a bit unwell so instead of persevering I went back home.

I should be working now and I am just unable to do so, I need to clock up 3 hours by the end of April (TODAY!) and I can see that I shall have to work between 9pm and midnight if I go on like this!

Anyway: this is my food diary so far, goodness knows if I shall stay on the straight and narrow by the time evening comes.

Breakfast: 2 small wholemeal slices toast with reduced fat edam and 1 tsp Reggae Reggae sauce (of Dragon's Den fame! It is DELICIOUS!!!)

Snack: chopped banana and strawberries with low fat blueberry yogurt

Lunch: swede, carrot and onion soup with broken spaghetti and a bit of parmesan on top, a few nuts, 3 chopped dried apricots and 1 prune.

Snack: 1 ryvita with a tbsp reduced sugar strawberry jam (no artificial sweeteners!).

Dinner (Planned): polenta with tomato sauce and a bit of grated cheese on top, steamed veg, massive chocolate, custard and icecream cake (JOKE! but only just...)

Wish me luck, I'm off to make a pretence of work....

    Caterina
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

hi everyone and well done all you losers. i have not had courage to get on scales after my initial 3 lb loss 3 weeks ago. i have had good days and bad. have managed 729 steps last ween which is great as after my accident i was bedridden and last check how many steps i did it was 149 so a great increase. cant see me ever getting to the 10,000 i used to manage every day but every little helps. i am taking the xenical orlistat fat losing medication from my doctor but nor really sticking to a low fat diet like i should. just have not found one that has food on it that actually appeals to me. my doctors check up is next week when i will have my monthly weigh in so will try and not weigh myself till then. am also listening to the paul mckenna cds on getting slim. but still open to any advice from anyone out there doing well?

Hello! Gorgeous and sunny here - going for a run in a minute or two.

I just went to Asda and didn't pick up any naughties, I normally find it hard at the till - today the till I was at had Green and Blacks Dark chocolate in little bars (my fave choc) - I almost convinced myself that one little bar wouldn't matter then looked on the back at the calories etc and realised that my planned run would be completely worthless if I ate it! Plus I was so pleased with my loss this morning so I ignored the plaintive cries of the abandoned chocolate and went on my way:p

Newlywed - of course you can come for tea!:D

Hello you lovely people , and MrsM :D

I've had a thought about those of us who struggle and need a kick, that's you Jacks and Nixy and possibly RS:

Tomorrow is a BRILLIANT day for starting again. For a start it's the 1st May. The 1st is always a good day to start a fresh. Also it's a Thursday which is a FAB day to start a being good. It's only a few days before the weekend where you can chill out and relax and being good is easier when you're not at work.

SO who wants to join in with me by starting to be good again tomorrow? We were Fab in Feb, lets be Marvelous in May :D Anyone?
