Just been out food shopping and skipped all the cakes and biscuit aisles. Still managed to spend a third of my next months grocery budget in one go

Bought salmon , a huge box of washing powder that should last about 2-3 months (on offer). Also bought some cherry jam and some tinned cherries so these were my only sweet treats.

Didn't even buy that much!! Hopefully the rest of the shops will end up cheaper :o;)

    Afternoon all

Oh and just to bug you frogga i have LOADS N LOADS of plants up thrrrrppp :rotfl:

Dinner has changed  realised i had a huge cauli and a whole broccoli so i have par steamed that and the 2 leeks, some carrots and some peas and made a huge luxury cauli cheese for tomorrow with jackets... and today im just having the veggies with a bit of the cheese sauce (had pasta salad at lunch and im stuffed -although that might be down to eating the cauli/broc stalks as they were steaming :p ), and i have cooked some pasta tubes for hubby, broken up the broc n cauli a bit and folded that and the other veggies into cheese sauce-so he has a luxury macaroni cheese -and have some of those lardons of bacon in the fridge so may dry fry him some until they are crispy and sprinkle them on the top :T ...job done and made more room in the bloomin fridge -well it helps that i have stuck tomorrows dish in the fridge in the basement ;)

Have been dodging the rain this afternoon.. managed to sit on the patio and pot up the peppers... and think im going to put my asparagus peas out in a moment.... then when hubby gets home i need him to dump me a bag of compost into each of the 4 tubs i got yesterday... when everything is up n running i will get a pic so you can all see my POTio aPOTment :D ...me spuds are going great guns.... well at least now i can see leaves :p

Well done Kentish Maid and heavenfire :j woohoo what losses :T

Recovering... Sending you hugs..don't beat yourself up over that blip -these things happen....Could she not go and stay with her dad for a while? she is driving you into an early grave the mean little madame  .... she would get absolutely b*gger all in this house if she was mine..if she can't act as part of a family then don't give her the benefits ;) ..I would drive her nowhere, give her nothing, not do her washing..cook my meals as normal for everyone and if she aint in let her micro it or go bl**dy hungry... heck id have the welfare folks after me i think :o
She has to learn that give and take is how things work... I hope she settles down for you soon. Did her dad not step in and stop her mouthing off at you? if not..he wouldn't get through my front door either  .... Its about time you put yourself first and let those around you fend for themselves until they learn to show a little consideration and respect for you and everything you do for them..ok im getting off my soapbox now :o can't believe how angry that has made me :rotfl:

Im still sulking because Aldi didn't have any rhubarb this morning  so i can't make my pud puds ...... and they were so yummy..think i will have to go again in the morning -just incase they have had some delivered ..fingers crossed...i need me puddin :D

Hello and well done to all the losers and tryers..

I don't want to depress you all too much so I will keep this brief. After several good days I have had the most enormous binge this morning, brought on by a huge row with DD1 this morning. She said the most horrible things to me that I started to cry in front of her and DD2 and ex-OH (something that I HATE doing) and that seemed only to spur her on with her vitriol. And all because I said that the low cut dress showing off her multitude of love bites looked awful. I feel terrible emotionally, and now physically thanks to the huge amount of rubbish which I actually went out and bought (so much for not keeping stuff in the house) and spent nearly £11 on. Right now I don't think I will ever get this weight off. Sorry to be such a Jonah.

Big ((((((HUGS)))))), anyone would crack from an episode like that, just chalk it up and start afresh. (((HUGS))))
Please be nice to all moneysavers!

Yes Pebbles is right recovering.... we'd all be heading for a food fest if we'd had to cope with that. I'd be mad at OH as I think he needs to take some of the heat off of you. Certainly he needed to get her in another room while you had a chance to calm yourself, dragging her if needs be.

Anyway, £11 worth of food can't bunge a stone on...not unless it was pure packs of lard. :p Brush the crumbs away and get back on the wagon again. :D Hope you had something good... I only had a mini run in with DS1 but I whapped down a magnum in lightening speed. :o Enjoyed it tho. :D

    Kentish maid and heavenfire... didn't you do well! :T :T :T ;)

Ooops OH and DS1 in early..better look busy. :D

  • hello and thanks to all of you for your kind words and Pm's. I feel alot better now and definitely think that posting on here stopped me from carrying on the binge for the rest of the day. I haven't had anything since 12 noonish (except pepto-bismol:o ) and don't think I can face any tea.

I smiled at your Smiths/Morrissey stories. As a first year University student in Manchester we used to hang round with these guys who were in a band called Slaughter and the Dogs and one of them was Morrissey. I didn't know him well or anything (nodding acquantaince only really) but once went to a Charity shop with him and others and I bought a mans Black Dinner Jacket (that was the fashion then...). I never thought he was good looking or anything though - I was mad about Elvis Costello. I was in a chinese restaurant in Liverpool about five years ago and Elvis was at another table and I still thought he was the coolest person in the world.

I have to say that reading what some of you have to eat I am tempted to try and become a vegetarian again! You all make such lovely sounding stuff. I have tried being vegetarian before but always gave up through laziness really but I have loads of veggie cookbooks. I think that meat sometimes give me indigestion too - mind you so does white bread. The only thing putting me off at the moment is that I have bouts of anaemia through heavy periods and I think that sometimes a veggie diet can lack iron - or am I wrong?

Just popped back to add Well done to Kentish Maid!
