My name comes from an old joke. A sign saying "Beware of the Agapanthus" sounds really scary  - and is supposed to be much more effective at deterring ill-informed trespassers than "Beware of the Dog" or whatever. An Agapanthus is really a very pretty blue lily (though I believe it can cause an allergic reaction in some people, so perhaps that joke has a sting in the tail!);)

Anyaway, after having quite a good week last week and losing a couple of pounds, I came unstuck yesterday. I went to a funeral - and there's something about funerals that makes me need sustenance. There was a gorgeous buffet lunch afterwards and I strayed...:embarasse Ah well, back to the straight and narrow today.

Frogga - I find that it's drinks that often catch me out. The only truly calorie-free drink is water, I'm afraid.:(

    Hello folks :hello:

    Well done the losers!! :T

Good Luck to those WI today.:T

My nickname – as you know I don’t wear a pink dressing gown and boxing gloves, I’m a geological Rockie, named by my OH - mind you he did once say I could punch like Mike Tyson:o

Good yesterday, I did have a very thin crusty end off a new loaf at bedtime but that was all other than the plan.

Boiled eggs and soldiers for brekkie, couscous, roasted veg and salad for lunch and quorn sausage with either mash or SW wedges and veg for tea.:D

Swimming at lunchtime,:D I’ve already done over 5000 steps due to trains being cancelled/delayed  and I’m carrying on decorating tonight so lots of exercise today:eek:

    See you later folks :A

Oh and my user name - Nix cos that is my name init :D the majority of people in real life call me that, I've been online in one form or another for a long long time and it's always been my username. I've been lucky enough to have met and made a load of friends from online over the years and they've always called me Nix - and it's permeated into real life. And the 143 is from my first girlfriend - it was her code for saying I (1) LOVE (4) YOU (3) and that's just stuck as well

Nix - are you a bloke then? I always thought that was your photo in your avatar!;) :D

    Morning all,
    How are you doing?
My name is boring, saver as this is a money saving website although in 46 years I've never managed to save a bean:rolleyes: sarn as it's my nickname easier than Alexandra for my siblings.
I always assumed MrsM's name was from McCawber from Dickens David Copperfield and Taplady danced and pigpen has 9(?) children so I had a hunch that her name described her home as she must spend so much time running after the kids/conceiving etc.... Rockie I always imagine in her satin robe and gloves, I can not believe I did not put 2+2 together with Nix's avatar....blurry obvious now;) Orpheus I thought was some thing from Greek mythology but I don't remember the story will google in a min but I think it's sad and that the word orphan came from it:confused: but I might be mis-remembering or just making it up:p
B- Yoghurt and cruchy berry cluster thing and half a twirl:rolleyes:
    L- sushi and quavers- classy ain't I?
    D-Omlette and salad
Pub quiz so a couple of gin and tonics:j

    Morning all,

Nicknames....first thing I thought of when asked to provide a username on registering here, nothing sinister about it although my offspring and OH reckon that I am very reluctant to spend money unless I have to....isn't everybody???

Food today has been small amount of cereal...not sure what its called...rice and wheat or something similar from Tesco, small amount milk, cup of Earl Grey, ham salad sandwich and coffee...no idea what will be available for dinner etc, meeting a friend at 12.30 but will just have coffee.

    Congratulations to losers

    Morning.
My username is pretty obvious ;) Although seems a little outdated nearly 2 years later, so I obviously wasn't thinking too far ahead when I joined up :p

    Food today:
Back on the porridge with frozen summer fruits mixed in
Snacks - pack of crisps :o A pear
Lunch is roast veg (left over from yesterday) with couscous
Tea is cauldron sausage casserole (in the slow cooker)
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

    Morning everyone,

Had a good giggle reading the posts, just the tonic needed in preparation for helping DD wallpaper this afternoon. I enjoy it when I shut myself away but being the worlds worst teacher, she may well end up strangling me by the end of the day:D .

I wish I'd been more inspired with my user name it's so boring - Suzi D from my real name. I know what you mean about the names sticking as we got to know someone over the internet called Floyd Fan (Pink Floyd) but still call him Floyd instead of his actual name.

Yesterday could have been a real dieting nightmare had the cupboards not been bare. Tried fencing on my own as weekend weather so awful. After hitting thumb and fingers every other blow of the hammer the air was blue and I was  ! Just wanted to sink my coppers into something - anything!! After mammoth struggle settled for an orange :A . Weigh in tomorrow so those scales had better smile at me because the cupboards are now restocked  .

Pigpen you brought back the panic the whole house went into whenever my step mother was due to visit (a very house proud lady). DS1 was a demon at the cleaning, put me to shame. It was battle stations, everyone zooming around with cream cleaners, dusters, polish etc. By the time she arrived we were all shattered :D .

    Todays menu is :
Breakfast as usual, oatabix, yogurt, banana, grapes and flaked almonds with S Milk. Fruit Juice and cup of coffee.
Lunch - Slice of toast with cheese and red onion (not the breezeblock as that would need enough cheese to scupper my WI tomorrow) Yogurt.
Tea - chicken and lots of veg stir fry with chilli sause and noodles.

Must dash and get jobs done before the decorating later.

:T :T :T to all you losers, brilliant.

    Suz
