:j yah - another 1lb off :j . Considering I had 3 breakfasts yesterday, roast with trimmings (and a small piece of apple pie:rolleyes: ) and a glass of wine I'm chuffed to bits!!!!

Chloebelle. You might want to try MrsMc's breadsticks (cue MrsMc for link or recipe :rotfl: ) which you can make with any flavourings you fancy. Also you could chop up some veggies and dip in salsa (tin toms, pepper, chilli - blitz!) or low fat cheese (with some sweet chilli sauce on top is nom nom!). Butternut squash chips are good (although they don't go crispy like potatos) - chop butternut, spray with oil, bung in oven for 20 mins! Ryvita and marmite? .... can't think of anything else at mo :rotfl:

Good luck - well done to all the losers, anything off is always a step in the right direction:T

I stuck to my plan for the day! Well mostly - I had a bourbon biscuit in the staff room at break:p Went for a 15 minute run after work though so I'll let myself off!

I wasn't as busy as I thought I'd be so instead of a bowl of cereal and soup and a roll later I had jacket potato, smoked salmon which was lurking in the freezer, and salad - yum yum:D

    Plan for tomorrow is:

Bfast - branflakes and skimmed milk
    Snack - banana
Snack - apple and a biscuit (I'll eat a biscuit anyway so I might as well put it in!)
Lunch - ham and salad sarnies with cherry toms, half and avocado and a yoghurt
Snack - grapes, half an avocado
Dinner - honey and mustard pork with jacket potato, peas and sweetcorn

Righto, I'm off out - hope you all have a nice evening:j

    Hiya all
    update on todays snacks
first snack was a slice of wholemeal bread with egg mayo and black pepper YUM! i was making DH`s sandwiches for the morning and couldn`t resist.
Snack 2 will be a small portion of hm apple crumble that i`ve just noticed in the fridge from yesterday DH will have the big portion.
Exercise today was walking the hounds and i`ll be off with them again shortly.
Some more unexpected exercise was goofing around in the garden with one of the houndies whilst singing Marjorie is a mastiff to her, that is until i realised that half the neighbours would be able to see me and i ran for cover back indoors :rotfl:

Well have been rather good with my food today :j
Had my jelly, fruit n yog for brekkie, a couple of oranges for lunch -wasn't very hungry  and dinner was tuna pasta salad..even though hubby decided he fancied a gyros (well the van was right outside the garden centre again..too much for him to resist -but i did) oh and i have had some grapes :p
Have to nip out and get some -rhubarb, apfelmus, bottled cherries, peppers, carrots, tomatoes, cabbage and more grapes ooh and nanas tomorrow...have plenty of everything else :j

Hubby is at work tomorrow then has a golf competition on Wenesday, has thurs off as its a bank holiday and friday off -just because :rotfl: so hopefully we will get some walking done...

Well done on the losses again folks :T :T
I will dig out a copy of the bread stick recipe in a moment chloebelle... they are rather nice and take much longer to munch than those grissini things you can buy ;)

    The bread sticks are :-
    • 150ml warm water
    • 1/2tsp dried yeast - i use 7g of fresh
    • pinch of sugar
    • 225g plain flour
    • 1tsp salt
    • 2 tsp caraway seeds
Just dissolve the yeast n sugar in the water and throw into the dry ingredients ...nice n simple :T ... knead for a couple of mins -then divide the dough into 20.. usually about 20g each...
roll into long sausages -about 12" and place on a greased baking sheet -i use a non stick liner ;) .. and wang in the oven at 220c/425f/gas7 for 10-12 mins
When you are rolling them out you do need some flour but try not to use to much as they just slide about :rotfl:
When mine are cooled i keep the wrapped up in a clean tea towel so they stay crispy..a bit like grissinis ...only nicer...
I have done them with poppy seeds too, and today i have done the caraway ones and 1 lot without the caraway seeds and with 10g parmesan and 1 tsp of mustard seeds - they are rather nice -had to quality test them :o
Hubby munches them all week -much better than the salted peanuts he used to demolish ;) and lovely with tzatziki and dips mmmmmmm

  • Evening - well done to all the losses :j. My WI is tomorrow so fingers crossed!

    Back on track today:
B Muesli, stewed rhubarb and greek yog
L Ham and soft cheese sandwich, Yog, Banana and Orange
S small slice of choc cake (birthday at work)
D Chicken salad with pot salad (home made), coleslaw and beetroot salad (Sainbugs)

And have been for half an hour swim after work :T . That was after I managed to knock a brand new bottle of vinegar on the floor - kitchen smells like a chip shop now :D

Have been thinking that I need to treat myself to new trainers. I am still wearing the ones that did me proud for the Moonwalk 3 years ago - about time they went in the bin. Might encourage me into the gym more as well.

Am now sitting with cup of tea, catching up with last weeks Waking the Dead (mmmm Trevor Eve - lovely). Night all

    Hi Folks,

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I have posted in the past. I got very irate and posted a lot when the thread was under threat from certain parties because it was not seen as OS or 'money saving' enough, but it seems that we have won that battle.

My problem is two-fold really. I became single about two years ago now and I am rubbish at cooking for one. I am also a qualified chef (although I don't do that for a living now) so I am great at cooking from scratch, but I do like my own cooking. I tend to cook too much for one and then eat it all anyway and there is nobody else around to point it out! I need to shift about 2 - 2.5 stone now. I have lost about half a stone since being on the site. To be totally honest, I need to cut down on the 'quick pint' with the lads after work and up the exercise. But, I have known that for some time and not cracked it yet. Am toying with the idea of joining a gym, (again). Love the thread and seeing how you all get on, and the gardening stuff is great, have got several pots on the go and several packets of seed ready to go when the weather cracks.

I am most intruiged by everyone's nicknames. How do you get to be 'pigpen', 'queenpig', 'bobbadog' etc? We should be told. Oh, and are all the 'pigs' related! (lol).

lol.. I'm not related to any of the other pigs.. but I am 'pigpen' because I live in one!!!.. though I am working on that!!! :D:D:D:D:D

My hubby lost 4.5 stone in the last year... he went running.. literally that was about it.. oh and he has porridge (yuk) for breakfast every day and limited the junk food. He now weighs less than me ROFL.. and he was so not impressed when I picked him up when he was struggling to reach on top of a cupboard!!

I can't do running it is too high impact for my poor ancient little trotters
