    Evening people

I've had a rough few days with the now ex partner but have stuck to trying to eat healthy!

Had my first weigh in and lost 4lb. Very pleased with myself and will continue and report back through the week.

Spent 45 minutes preparing food for tomorrow... this is what i'm having

    B - Bran flakes (no banana's left! )
L - Salad with turkey breast with a marinade
D - turkey hotpot, going to make a huge batch and use the sauce as a soup for the following day.

Hope everyone is well and eating healthy!

    Hi all,

Orpheus...we are quite into equal opportunities as pigpen said, so stay with us and we will support you too.

Sugarhunny...congrats on the loss...and to anyone else I didn't remember to congratulate earlier.

Frogga....would think that it will be at least Tuesday before the vegs will be ready....

Was good at dinner time, just a normal amount of meat, potato and extra veg, 2 apples for pudding....but I have since had a bacon sandwich and 3 custard creams...stupid woman!

    Night all, sleep well

  • Hi there, I love yorkshire puds and I cannot get them right, they are always soggy in the middle/bottom.

Anyway, I tried your recipe tonight - I don't know what I did wrong - they tasted like omelette at the bottom and were soggy. I used a muffin tray, could that have been it? I made 12, was the recipe for 24 maybe?

Hope you can help, or anyone else - this is one food that I love but just cannot cook.

    FFM :)
Hi Funky - I think that using a muffin tray might not have helped them. You need to use a non stick fairy cake tin which is much flatter than a muffin tin. The amounts in the recipe I used was too much for 12 but not enough for 24 - I made 12 and then put the rest of the mixture in the fridge to use today for pancakes for kids, but I didn't get around to it and so had to bin it. - I reckon it was enough for about 18. I put the mixture into cold lightly greased tins and then put the tin in a hot oven. It is also very important to use plain, not self raising flour - SR flour makes them go all soggy and cakey for some reason which I don't understand. Hope you have better luck next time!

I have had an okay eating day today, but got really annoyed with DD1 earlier on and ate two fairy cakes because I was annoyed (don't know why). Other than that it wasn't too bad. I really need to reduce my overall consumption of carbs though - I seem to eat alot of bread and pasta/rice/potatoes and I think the weight comes off faster if you reduce that down - what do others think?

I think you have pin pointed a few errors on my part. I will definitely give your recipe another try. I did use SR flour :o so that won't have helped.

The yorkies looked like huge buns when they were cooking and there wasn't the usual hole in the middle for the gravy.

I do the same when I have an upset with my OH, I don't know what it is that makes me eat when I get cross - it's silly I know, 'cos it's me that suffers long term

    Thanks again for your advice.

    Morning All,

Well, Day 1. This is my 432nd Day 1................ and my last! Never will I binge again. I am now in recovery. I am a recovering bingeaholic :D

Have just hopped on the scales and after they had recovered from the shock they said 18st 12lb. It could have been worse as I thought it was gonna be at least 19 1/2 st. SO now I can say I'm never gonna see 19 st again ;) Ah, that's a bit said isn'it? Poor old 19st :p I feel sorry for it now. Never mind, I'll get over it ;)

Have got 2 big cartons of cranberry juice to get through today as I thought it might help clean out all the yuckies that must be floating around my insides. I expect I'll have a headache all day as I usually do once I stop eating all the carp.

    Today I am having

    Breakfast ~ Porrige
    Snack ~ 4 apricots, 4 nuts
Lunch ~ Houmous, spinache and watercress sandwich with seedy bread
    Snack ~ 4 apricots, 4 nuts
Tea ~ Spicey beans and LOADS of veg

That's not too odd for me is it? Have made it all up already so I shouldn't fall off . Correction I WONT fall off.

It was lovely to have all your support. A big hello to you all, but a special big hello to Tappy, MrsM, MeanMarie and Jackie :A You are real palls. Oh and Marie, have I really got to wait til Tuesday? BLimey that long! YOu know how easily I get bored

Right hopping off now to wizz round with the hoover.......................................... ( other house cleaning devises are available)

    Morning all,

    Well done sugarhunny :T :T :T :T that's a brilliant loss! :D

Glad to see you posting Orpheus and good to hear that you're still working hard on the OS weightloss. Was wondering how you were doing. ;) You're not the only male joining in you know..there's a few husbands decided to join in too. :D

Your eating plan sounds nice today Frogga. I've got spinach and hummous, just not watercress. Could just pep it up with pepper I s'pose. I'm always on the lookout for new sandwich fillers. :p Oh and glad your weigh in was better than you'd thought. ;)

    Food today:
    Readybrek
    HM french onion soup
HM turkey & veg pie with steamed spinach, swede and broad beans.

    snacks - pear, orange, satsumas.

Had rather a lot of treats at the weekend as OH made dumplings and he gave me two the size of sml apples. Yeah, I know its not healthy eating but I'm into treats every now and then. Its what keeps me going. :p
Of course the two cornettos that DS2 gave me over the two days were a bit excessive but ...well... okay can't come up with a good excuse other than it was sunny and it felt like we should enjoy the moment. Twice. :o

Right, need to get some work done, drag DS2 out of bed and hot foot it to the greenhouse to see if my lettuces are finally working. Plus its looking like its going to chuck it down so I best go find my pink and white spotty brolly before I make the sprint across the garden. :p

Will pop back later to see how the weigh ins are going. ;)

Just a quickie, on a break. Feeling positive and perky today (mind you it is still early!). I know I can stick to my plan - must not deviate, must not deviate......

Good luck with your new start Frogga - you sound very determined, I'm sure you can do it.

    Have a lovely day everyone!

Sorry to but in (I only normally lurk on this thread) I think cutting down on carbs works too. Why not give it a try?

Last year I lost 20 lbs by eating my carbs early in the day - usually porridge for breakfast & multi grain crispbread with lunch. I then didn't have any starchy carbs for the rest of the day just loads & loads of other veg with dinner. I haven't put it back on by doing this a few times a week ever since.

I find it really hard to lose weight partly because I'm a normal weight but to get to my 'fighting weight' I need to lose about 7 - 10lbs. If you have less to lose it's harder I think. Also I have a thyroid problem (no really) I had half of it removed about 11 years ago & since then my metabolism has slowed down. Before the op. I was too thin really.

I eat a very healthy vegan diet with almost no sweet stuff & by doing this I stay at a constant weight but losing is tough.
