    morning all

marie i always find i'm more tired when i've done nothing then when i've

purpleivy i like the occasional mcflurry too, the crunchie ones at the moment are yummy

    have a good day

At last, back on the internet, the problem last night? I must have knocked the wireless internet switch (didn't know of its existence) when I moved the laptop. It took a while to sort out, but at least I did it on my own!

I had the crunchie flurry. The deluxe, but it wasn't as nice as the original. the caramel sauce stuff is just too sweet for me.

I felt fine about doing it though. It was planned. I had fruit for the rest of the meal. I'm like lots of you here, in that I don't believe in cutting things out completely. Moderation is the way forward. I want to lose/maintain weight by eating normal food.

Scales were duely placed in bathroom last night for my first weigh in this morning, finding out what my start point is to be. I was expecting that my BMI would be just about 30 and it's slightly below. (At the moment I'm trying to find positive things to keep me going!) The last few years when I've come off my winter medication it's been the wrong side of 30. I'm pleased about this, although as with any weight loss mission, there is a way to go!

I think I shall start a spread sheet with relevant info on it. WIll that be motivating?

Back to the job in hand. I'm afraid I have a heavy smell of baking Nutella cake here right now. I had the stuff in from Christmas when I didn't get round to making it. We have visitors next weekend, so will stash in the freezer for then.

I haven't had breakfast yet, going out to large fabric store with MIL in a bit, that might require a coffee out!

Breakfast is grapefruit and porridge I think.

Lunch will be hummus and salad if I'm home again.

Dinner? Hoping to do Lentil bolognese, but not sure if it's gonna get sorted. Otherwise HM burgers.

My meal plan that I did last week didn't really bear much resemblance to reality, must try and sort one for this week now,

Just going to catch up on other threads a bit and start my weight loss spreadsheet. I need to decide how often and when I'm going to get weighed, Diet Time forgot they were doing every 4 days I think. Might try this, week is such a long time, will give this some consideration.

    Have a good day everyone

Hey guys, how we all doing today? Wellllllllllllllllllllllll yesterday was going brilliantly, porridge (threw half away), low fat wrap for lunch then turkey steak and salad which was gorgeous because I put loads of pickles on it - low low cal but lots of chew and crunch in them. So was feeling very pleased with myself. Until its 11pm and I'm watching Dylan Moran with the Nipper and I got a snack attack!!! I was ravenous - or so I told myself . So I had half a bag of crisps (threw the bag at DS to finish) and a slice of wholemeal break with a Laffin Coo cheese friangle spread on it . Bad bad norty Nixy. Sat here this morning calling myself such a doofus, why didn't I go to bed? Or have a glass of water? Self sabotaging lil witch that I am.

However *swirling around a la Scarlet O'Hara* tomorrow - or rather today - is another day and so onwards and upwards kiddlywinks. 4 days til weigh day and I have a little goal and I will hit it. So today I will be eating
B = porridge, going to chop my portion size right down as I am now throwing half of it away
L = HM turkey soup - its the last of the soup I made with my christmas turkey LOL
S = kallo organic savoury rice cakes - nom nom nom marmitey goodness and only 31 calories each, far more tasty and satisfying than normal rice cakes, honest
D = well it was going to be kedgeree but Nipper isn't in for dinner tonight and it's one of his favourites so might save that til tomorrow and I'll have a salad something, I think
    .

Right I am off to be brilliant for a bit :D gonna have one of those days where I steam through loads of w**k and feel slightly smug and satisfied LOL. Hope you all have a great one xx

    Morning everyone,

Hello to the new posters. :D

Heavenfire - I felt just like you at the end of last year and came to the same sort of conclusions.
I too think that 'reporting in' helps you feel focused. Also seeing everyone having their ups and downs and still pulling through to keep plodding on has been really great. ;)
I use a food diary too to help me understand why I've had a bad (or good) week. Also it makes me keep a check on how balanced and healthy my food intake is. I even write the snaffled odd mouthful of food down when I'm cooking. They all add up. So all in all...have never really looked back since I joined this thread. :T

Sunnydays - was interested to try the yogurt making thing myself but didn't want to go to the expense of a yogurt maker if I didin't like it. Hmmmm might have to give it some more thought.
I got the tail end of a conversation about making cream cheese on another thread but it moved to fast for me to grasp all that was said. Was it weezl on the GC thread that flavoured cream cheese?

    Food today:
    Readybrek
Ham salad with HM pattie of bubble & squeak and picallili
Foil baked herby corn on the cob.

Snacks - red grapefruit, apples and orange

Have noticed that I'm falling back on eating as much fruit so must try to adjust that. Drinking too much tea with friends and family is the problem. It fills you up too much.

Oh pooh! Its hacking it down with rain now just cos I thought I'd drink my coffee before stowing my garden rubbish away from yesterday. Will have to move a soggy sack now. :(
Did have a lovely afternoon with mum in the garden clearing branches etc yesterday. The sun was burning our legs as we sat drinking our numerous cuppas. Bliss! :D

Marie - I was dog tired too last night. Decided to take myself off to bed super early but could I get to sleep! One after another they all came in to ask what I was doing in bed with the lights out. TRying to bloomin' sleep would be the obvious conclusion! But I forgot... mums apparently don't run out of energy, do they?

Catch up with you all later. ;)

    Morning all!

Stuck to target yesterday.... until I got home. Had 4 Kinder Schokobons for desert (they're tiny Kinder egg things, not too naughty - 33 calories each - and now they're all gone! Chocolate free house!). Dinner was grilled pork chops with a smidgen of melted roquefort, vegetables and rice.

    Today:

    B: 2 x wholemeal w/ marmite
    S: pear
    L: noodles, leftover veg, yoghurt
    S: pear or an orange
D: Mariners pie, beans. Sugar free jelly for desert.

I sure wish we didn't eat dinner so late - never before 7;30 as I get home at 7. Think that's hindering my weight loss somewhat and making me more tired. No way around it really!

    • dinner ...hmmmm thinking jackets n cottage cheese with salad again :o -but we love it soooo much it would be rude not too :D
Hubby ate all those 20 mini muffin things at work yesterday -with a little help apparently  I on the other hand haven't touched the 10 in the freezer :A :rotfl: ...YET :p

This last week i have finally managed to get a grip on my portions again... and im even prone to sending myself to bed if the call of the fresh loaf gets too loud ;) I know i want it because its nice -and not because im hungry -so im being mean to myself :D
Weigh day tomorrow although its TOTM so as usual im not expecting great things... but at least im no longer a greedy binge monster for a few days before .... i do eat more -but i make sure its fruit or yogurts etc... or at least proper "food" -not garbage
Prior to starting on this thread i would be like a walking waste disposal unit and would have felt so rough ..now i find the only "side effect" i get is that i fall asleep in the evenings for about 15 mins on the 2 days prior :rotfl: how bizarre

Cheerfulness... i love tickabilly.. my mum make sthe best ever.. really crunchy not ploppy and she makes me tickabilly sauce (no lumps at all) lovely on sandwiches mmmmmmm

Hello and welcome to the newbies :D
    hope everyone is ok.....
just a quick one -will pop back later....have a great day everyone :D

Thank you all for being so supportive.. and I will bob in periodically.. like evry day.. if not to read but to post. I am almost persuaded that I have to go have the tummy tuck thing I've been contemplating for the last 7 years.. so that will be 2lb of gross flesh off lol.. I've decided I just have a 'body image issue' which is probably due to a number of factors one of which I CAN change (see above) even if it is pretty drastic, I need to do that for myself.

To make myself feel better I am going to go up the stairs with a binbag and fill it with all the hiedous clothes from my wardrobe and all the ones that are simply too small.. if I can't or don't wear it I am getting rid.. clear some space in my head and my room!

    Hi Kentish Maid and welcome.

Well done in deciding to do something about your health, because when it boils down to it. most of us are doing the slimming thing because of health, not vanity!:A

If you do the Slimming World diet you can have some wine as syns, and still eat aplenty. Good luck with your slimming plans!

That's a good idea Pigpen. It gives a false impression of how many clothes you have if you don't turf out all the ones you don't like/don't wear/don't fit. You can hardly complain you don't have a 'thing to wear' if the doors won't shut! Good for morale if you only have things you wear and like and also easier to look for something new if you can see what gaps you are trying to fill.

LOL.. I'll have nothing the items I wear amount to.

    2 pairs 'going out' jeans
    6 'going out' tops

    8 pairs jeans
    12 vest tops
    4 cardies
    3 sweaters
and 1 skirt which I could and should wear but it is a bit cold!

4 nighties and 6 pairs of jammies

savoury mince for lunch.. but it tastes like the plastic container I cooked it in!!
